...as said i reject theories of Serb German origin (as well as Sarmat but some around, might be maybe more as they moved form some area more sourceful) while similarity with some "Suebi" for example exists etc (ironically it is our not pejorative but folk terms for Germs) not so much on racial basis but as talked and won't repeat, on linguistical as number of germanisms is not enough for it, as well as sarmatisms... to me most likely highly romainised as number of latinisms is proportionally much higher and way of (esp. old) is closest to elite Latin etc.
lighter theme, wasn't much today.... you know why Germans were highly handicaped compared to Italians, us, Greeks (for known examples) in way that we never could recognize them as "truly Roman emperors" in some classical sense or early empire, Kesarian till Vespasianus to say ; ...well no matter how muchthey tried somehow they couldn't make "imperial German bodyguards" as all their imperial troops were German anyway
so no that clear disctinction and something we could do
for end, as i doubt that people in the west know also... Greeks are constantly avoiding Dushan, there was no recorded bigger battle just some towns changed hands, sieges and similar.... both Kantakouzenos and Paleologos troops never gave any bigger battle, and both tried to make him ally etc. Kanta holds field army in Thrace around 1350 mainly because of Dushan, but takes it back during Venice-Genova war, but mostly avoidance of battle.... strange avoidance in both east and west, but it was not "fear" as some our historians put, it was something else and i tried to explain to extent... so i always laugh at Pierre-Peter Thomas, it really is funny "he wants to conquer Byzant and we cant do anything about it" for example.... yeah to put some light, Dushan talks with French papacy in his final years, offering them union, demanding title "captain of Europe" etc. - but as both Andrea and Ludwig (years ago) are dead and Colonnas without much say to any important ruler except HIM etc so was "isolated" in moment and so on..... as said, watched "the name of the rose" first time in the 80s or early 90s, of course knowing nothing, but was relatively ppopular and repeated film on our then TVs... probably sense, when i started to understand its plot was "what we had to do with these western eventsand papa-Jacques".... today all can say "oh you mean....".... million time repeat it would be awful if Umberto died without at least some title from us, so he gained doctorate properly
lovely and hopfully helpful to all lovers.... it was some struggle maybe raging and changing tone and parties since "fall of Ruma" basically, we involved very much...
