Okay, ich nehme dann wohl deine neue Karte. Werde dann jetzt erstmal den Pfad mit dem normalen Kriegsverlauf weiterbasteln. Heute geht es los mit Tunisgrad.

Tunis war auch heftig. Dreiviertel des Szenarios war es eigentlich ein Patt, aber nachdem ich zunächst die Flanken gesäubert hatte und zusätzliche Einheiten in die Mitte schicken konnte, konnte ich nach und nach in die Offensive übergehen. Hatte im HQ einiges umgerüstet und eine AD und einen italienischen Jäger gekauft, um mit den Massen an gegnerischen Flugzeugen besser fertig werden zu können. Diesmal war eine Artillerie das in Sachen exp.

Hier mal ein kleiner Teaser von Prokorowka Tank Battle.

In die zwei Aufstellungshexe in vorderster Front werde ich aber keine Kerntrupen stellen

Kleiner Zwischenbericht nach vier Runden. In der Mitte habe ich die sowjetischen Verteidigungsstellungen zerstört. Große Hilfe war wieder mal mein Overwhelming Attack Panzer. Unfassbar, was der alles überrollen kann! Im Norden hänge ich fest und im Süden habe ich die erste Verteidigungsstellung fast komplett durchbrochen. Bisheriges Highlight des Szenarios: Eine 8er eingegrabene sowjetische Infanterie, die sich mit einem Angriff durch Artilleriefeuer selbst getötet hat.

Das nächste Szenario ist fertig. Kuban ist aber nur ein kleiner Zeitvertreib. Man muss seine Armee aus dem Brückenkopf zurückziehen. Problematisch sind nur die langsamen Einheiten / Einheiten mit wenig Sprit. Auf die muss man besonders achten.

Ein weiteres Szenario ist fertig. Erneut müssen Einheiten entkommen. Diesmal die eingekesselte 8. Armee aus dem Kessel von Korsun.

Ok, alles klar, habe meine Taktik schon im Kopf

Clemens, bei deiner Aussage kriege ich Angst, dass ich irgendwas übersehen habe, was das Szenario total einfach macht.
Das Szenario hat ewig gedauert und war ziemlich realistisch. Es hat 10 Runden gedauert, bis ich zum Kessel Verbindung hergestellt hatte und viele Einheiten waren bereits unterstark. Die Healer Unit hat wieder hervorragende Arbeit geleistet. Nach 7 Runden wurde der Boden schlecht, was bis zur 27. Runde andauerte. Dazu schneite es mehr als die Hälfte der Züge. Habe dann den Feind in der Mitte komplett vernichtet und die MSU Einheiten aus dem Kessel langsam Richtung Süden geschickt (Schnell kamen die bei den Bodenverhältnissen natürlich nicht voran). Im Westen hatte ich nur schwache Einheiten, die defensiv blieben und in Richtung Escape Hex absicherten. Da die einzige Straße Richtung Südwesten voll mit MSU Einheiten war und das Priorität hatte, konnte ich in den Westen kaum Verstärkung schicken. Gegen Ende des Szenarios griff der Feind im Westen mit mehreren Panzer-Divisionen Richtung Escape-Hex an. Ich drang nördlich meiner Stellungen im Westen mit meinen stärksten gepanzerten Truppen Richtung Westen an. Zwar war ich nicht stark genug, den Feind zu vernichten und ich musste mehrmals Einheiten zurück zur Healer-Unit schicken, aber ich konnte zumindest die KI verlangsamen, so dass nur wenige gepanzerte Truppen sich meinen schwächeren, inzwischen auch abgekämpften Einheiten entgegenstellten und alle überlebten, bis die 27. MSU Einheit im Sieghex war.
Das was definitiv ein hartes Szenario! Ich habe insgesamt über 5000! Erfahrungspunkte in diesem Szenario gewonnen.

Nee, so war das nicht gemeint. Aber wenn ich inzwischen eine Karte sehe, und hier sieht man ja auch die Aufstellungshexe und Freund und Feind, dann entwickle ich sofort eine Taktik im Kopf. Das passiert schon automatisch. Nach vielen Jahren Open General haben sich im Gehirn bestimmt dafür gute Synapsen gebildet
Bis zu den Szenario muss ich wohl an meinen Allwetterfähigkeiten noch etwas verbessern. Bei ca. 30 Runden lohnt sich das schon

Die erweiterte 274? Ja, wäre nicht schlecht. Wäre ja schon die 2. beim fiktiven Strang. Sonst kann ich da ja nicht weiter basteln. Für das erste Szenario nehme ich jetzt auch die Sommer Version deiner Map und warte, bis du dann irgendwann die Winter Map gemacht hast und tausche die dann aus.

Okay, dann mache ich die erweiterte 274 als nächste Karte

Habe die letzten Tage mit der Karte angefangen und sie sieht inzwischen so aus:



Ich werde die Straßen und Schienen jetzt nicht reparieren bzw. auswechseln, denn die sehen nicht so gut aus. Die Karte ist vielleicht auch nur 85% genau, wenn man 274 und eine richtige Karte (die Wirklichkeit) vergleicht, aber manchmal kann ich einfach die verschiedenen Karten nicht in Deckung bringen. Zudem ist die gesamte Karte ja auch etwas gedreht.

Aber das passt alles schon so. Die verschiedenen Fabriken und Landmarken sind schon ziemlich genau eingetragen. Werde die neue Karte dann später auch selbst verwenden. Wollte ja eine geplante Sovietkampagne erst in Stalingrad starten lassen, damit man nicht erst 10 Defensivszenarien spielen muss. Da passt diese Stalingradkarte natürlich gut. Da kann man dann auch über den Fluss Verstärkung ranschaffen...

Ein weiteres Szenario ist fertig. Die Sowjets setzen zur Zerschlagung der Heeresgruppe Mitte an. Hier ein Teil der Front.

Was für eine Karte ist das?

Die XXL Smolensk von Sympatyk. Leider habe ich keinen Plan, wie ich an das Map Picture komme. Deshalb ist die Karte momentan nur Tiled. Ich habe Sympatyk deshalb schon angeschrieben.

Did you know that the entire Kiev map consists of two separate maps? (when folded together, they cover the area of 8300x5600px)

Thanks, at first I didn`t know where I can get the picture, even with your links, but then I realized that can rightclick on the map picture and download it there.
No, I don`t knowed that the Kiew map were two maps. But that makes sense. Anyway, to play on the whole map, they are to big for my taste. But now at the Smolensk map I just needed the left side of the map, where the germans were standing at begin of Operation Bagration. But it is cool that you can make a long front line on the map, because that makes it harder for the player.

Anyway, here is the AAR of the scenario. It was too hard for my taste, so I deleted two tanks, two fighters, one AA gun and a lot of infantry from the soviets.
Edit: Wow, I lost nearly 100 aux units in this scenario. This was such a meat grinder.

Instead of removing units from the map, you can write that they have been canceled / moved to another section of the front -> you can do it practically - by selecting the turn after which they will be automatically removed by the computer (disband option)

Yes, that would have been a chance too, but it would have been more work to disband the units and the front line collapses very soon. So every unit in the scenario is a threat in the first turn. I have changed cleared into deleted, that seems to be more the word for german word "gelöscht".

Ein weiteres Szenario ist fast fertig. Der Spieler startet östlich von dem Bildausschnitt im Kessel von Brody, muss ausbrechen und dann bei der Verteidigung von Lwiw und dem Umland helfen. Diesmal erhält die Achse wenigstens auch ein bisschen Nachschub nach einigen Runden.

Weil dass das Prestige ist, was ich für die fiktiven Szenario behalte, damit ich dort alles auf Überstärke bringen kann. Außerdem brauche ich momentan keine Upgrades. Die RAF war ja auch so machbar mit den ganzen Hilfstruppen.

I don't want to be rude, but i saw some mistakes. e.g. Panzerpionieres are great against mines, or on 9:39 you could destroy the mines with your tank (sure overun) and then your tank could attack again.
Anyway, i like so much to watch your battles, when i have time.

As I often have stated I am not a good player and for some reasons I want to quit the scenarios soon, so yes, I am doing a lot of mistakes.

I feel bad and my english don't help. I didn't want to say that you are not a good player. You are great designer, that means you are even more good player.

I know that I make a lot of mistakes. If I play more concentrated, I can play better. But in my videos it is important to be fast, because nobody likes to watch a 10h video for just one scenario. And to edit the videos I have not enough time.

Wenn mir ein Szenario besonders gut gefällt, schreibe ich das ja immer in den AAR.

Brijansk, Moskau, Demyansk, Trappenjagd, Rzhev. Und wenn ich so drüber nachdenke, Lille Pocket, weil es das schwerste Szenario war.
"The 6th Army is doomed" war auch gut weil ich den Kessel halten konnte.

Mit Falaise Pocket ist ein weiteres Szenario fertig. Vor allem in der Luft war das harter Tobak. Die alliierte Luftwaffe war zahlreich, aber von den Modellen zum Glück unterlegen. Da die vielen Bomberstaffel die Einheiten im Kessel zu Heidi Klump schossen, attackierte ich recht früh die feindliche Luftwaffe. Die Folge war, dass sich ein Teil der alliierten Flugzeuge auf meine Kerneinheiten losging. Damit hatte ich nicht unbedingt gerechnet und da nicht alle geschützt waren, brauchte ich mehrere Reloads, bis alle überlebten. Nach etwa fünf Runden war in der Luft dann endlich Ruhe, da auch Verstärkungen in der Luft und am Boden eintrafen. Mit den Kerneinheiten säuberte ich zunächst die Straßen bei Mont Ormel von polnischen Einheiten und danach Widerstandsnester in den Hügeln. Anschließend bretterte ein Teil meiner Truppen zur Dives vor. Im Norden gelang mir das allerdings nicht rechtzeitig und die dort zurückgelassenen Hilfstruppen waren schnell Geschichte und alliierte Truppen brachen über den Fluss vor. Hier hatte ich einige knifflige Situationen zu überstehen, denn die dort eilig herbeigezogenen Kräfte hatten entweder ein Spritproblem oder ein Munitionsproblem. Am Ende war es nicht allzu schwer, aber man muss auf seine Kerneinheiten schon gut aufpassen.

Warum stellst du die 6. Armee nicht einfach im Kessel auf? Der Spieler muss die 6. Armee dann entsetzen und zum Escape Hex eskortieren.
Können ja auch einige MSU Einheiten bei der 6. Armee dabei sein.

Mein Aufbau war so wie auf dem Bild. Escape Hex habe ich natürlich nicht, aber das Szenario eben als Kesselaufbau. Die Sowjets drumherum, aggressiv, greifen den Kessel an. Denn die Verstärkungen im SH aufstellen geht vielleicht technisch gar nicht.

Ich habe mich entschlossen, nun einfach zwei Szenarien zu machen. Eines, bis zu dem Punkt, wo man die 6. Armee trifft und eines dann zu einem Escape Hex hin. Mache aber derzeit eine kleine OG Pause, denn momentan finde ich Strategic Command viel spannender.

Ich werde mich dann wieder an die Kampagne machen und weiterspielen. Mir ist bei Tunis schon aufgefallen, dass du wieder in einem HOLD VH Szenario unterschiedliche Rundenzeiten für die verschiedenen Siegarten eigenstellt hast. Das funktioniert aber nicht und verwirrt nur. Die Rundenzeiten müssen gleich sein! Darum geht es ja bei HOLD X VH, darum eine bestimmte Anzahl Sieghexe nach einer festgelegten Rundenzahl zu halten.

Im Intro sind zwei Kaufvorschläge angegeben, kaufen kann ich aber drei Einheiten. Dann würde ich zumindest schreiben, dass man die dritte Einheit frei wählen kann. Ich hab soviel Prestige, vielleicht rüste ich gleich zwei [C]-Jäger auf. Mal sehen

Die drei Einheiten, die gekauft werden können, war wohl ein Tippfehler. Gekauft hatte ich da nur zwei Einheiten. Aber gut, da kann der Spieler bei Verlusten wenigstens mal eine Einheit ersetzen.
Das mit den Siegbedingungen ist immer etwas verwirrend für mich. Ich weiß nie so recht, welche man miteinander verbinden kann. Ich überlege noch, ob ich die Rundenanzahl überall auf 18 setze, oder ob ich ein normales Szenario draus machen. Wenn die eigenen VH auch VHs für den Spieler sind, muss er die ja auch halten.

Mal sehen wie es dann für mich läuft. Aber die Rundenzahl kannst du überall gleich einstellen.
Wegen den zwei oder drei Einheiten, die man kaufen kann, dass würde ich schon irgendwie auch in das Intro schreiben, denn sonst verwirrt es nur wenn einmal zwei Kaufvorschläge angegeben sind und man drei Einheiten kaufen kann. Du kannst ja schreiben, dass man bei der dritten Einheit die freie Wahl hat oder Verluste ausgleichen kann oder eben nur zwei Einheiten kauft.

Du kannst dir auch mal das neue Efile laden. Da gibt es neue Einheiten und z.B die größeren Leaderabzeichen. Die sehen im Spiel wirklich viel besser aus und sind auch besser zu erkennen

Bin jetzt in der 9. Runde und habe nur eine Frage: Hast du Tunisgrad ohne Reloads gespielt?
Das Szenario gefällt mir eigentlich ganz gut aber jetzt musste ich schon mehrmals den 10 AI-Zug abbrechen und laden und immer wieder wird in der Runde eine andere Kerneinheit zerstört. Nochmal fange ich aber nicht an, denn besser kann ich auch nicht spielen

Dann sind mir schon einige Dinge aufgefallen:
- Wenn du einem Hafen eine Flagge gibst, wird er automatisch zum SH, es sei denn man stellt es in den Settings aus. Das ist dann blöd wenn der Feind einen solchen Hafen erobert und Einheiten kauft...
- Es gibt immer wieder die Tendenz zum "Overengineering", wie auch hier mit den drei Siegbedingungen. Eigene MSU, feindliche MSU und Sieghexe.
- Die AI started ja mit dem ersten Zug und hat dann direkt einen MSU-Bomber abgeschossen. Da kann man ja nun gar nichts machen
- Meine Hilfstruppen haben alle eine Basistärke von 1, d.h. ich kann sie nicht mehr mit dem Healer reparieren.
- Die Feinde haben alle eine Basisstärke von 10.
- Die Hilfsflotte kommt viel zu spät um irgendeinen Einfluss zu haben.

Wie viele Reloads ich hatte, weiß ich nicht mehr. Aber zu schwer fand ich das nicht. Und dass es überdurchschnittlich viele waren, habe ich jetzt auch nicht so in Erinnerung. Aber mir hatte sicherlich auch geholfen, dass viele meiner Einheiten noch OS aus dem vorherigen Szenario hatten. So hatte ich drei OS Artillerie. Das hilft natürlich enorm, wenn die AI aggressiv agiert.
- Das mit dem SH ist mir gar nicht aufgefallen, da ich das SH nicht verloren hatte.
- Zu den Siegbedingungen: Die Kampagne ist lang und da ist etwas Abwechslung mMn angebracht und MSU für beide Seiten hatten wir noch nicht. Ich finde das in dem Szenario durchaus auch logisch. Es bringt ja nichts, die Alliierten zurückzuschlagen, wenn dann außer der Kernarmee keiner mehr auf der Karte ist. Ich hatte die MSU irgendwann hinter die Front gefahren, als die Verluste zu hoch wurden.
- Das mit Basisstärke 1 ist gewollt. War andersrum aber auch meistens genauso, sprich die Sowjets hatten in Kesseln nur Basisstärke 1. Wenn keine Verstärkung da ist, kann man auch nichts verstärken.

- Das mit den SH sieht man doch spätestens im Spiel, denn da ist ja ein grüner Rand bzw. Gelb und Grün wenn es ein VH/SH ist.
Und bei Häfen ist es halt auch schon immer so. Die AI kauft immer irgendwelchen billigen Schrott wenn sie ein SH und Prestige hat (und keine Kaufliste).
- Du hast also Reloads gebraucht, aber nicht überdurchschnittlich viele. Jetzt rechne das mal auf die ganze Kampagne hoch. Wenn du da schon 100 Reloads gebraucht hast verfälscht es doch alles total. Ich werde wirklich nie verstehen wieso Designer beim Testen ihrer eigenen Kampagnen Reloads machen. Und das meine ich ganz allgemein. Das verfälscht doch alles total. Und dann war es ja nicht schwer

- Ich bleibe dabei, das mit den ganzen MSU verwirrt nur, denn es wird ja auch in OG nicht richtig angezeigt und wenn dann da zweimal was steht von wegen MSU, weiß man gar nicht was für welche Seite gilt. Ich hab die sofort von der Front abgezogen, versteckt und nicht benutzt. Heilen konnte ich die ja auch nicht.
- Auch das mit der Basisstärke... Die Gedanken dahinter kennst nur du allein und niemand sonst! Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass die meisten Spieler nur ein normales Szenario spielen wollen und nicht drei Siegbedingungen haben wollen und ein Healer den sie nicht einsetzen können.
Und Basisstärke 1 ist nun wirklich nicht 5 oder 6 oder 8.
- Generell kann man doch in anderen AARs (z.B. bei den CCs) immer wieder lesen, dass es oft nicht so gut ankommt wenn der Designer sich was "ganz Besonderes" ausgedacht hat. Denn wie gesagt, die Gedanken dahinter kennt nur der Designer.

Warscheinlich muss der Spieler also gar keine halten oder nur so wenige, dass die AI nicht gewinnt?
Die Sieghexe immer nur für eine Seite zu setzen ist nicht immer so gut. Ich werde jetzt ganz normal spielen und nicht testen was unter diesen oder jenen Umständen passiert aber wenn der Spieler VH halten soll, sollten diese auch für den Spieler gesetzt sein?
Oder ist das wieder so eine ausgeklügelte Idee?

Nein, eher Vergesslichkeit. War mir auch nicht aufgefallen, da ich alle VH halten konnte.

An der Stalingradfront geht es voran Muss jetzt eigentlich nur noch die Straßen ziehen und dann sollte die Karte fertig sein. Mapx dann natürlich noch...
