AND (go and see on his page) is writen (just zoomed) Sarra Columna etc. if my eyes are not lying, and i know some latin forms but simply in given do not space nor form it to be anything else than Sarra. bang, bang it is that "Serbo-Croat" (Serbo-Latin or whatever) word i talked previously so it was used in Italy after all ;) new thing and always look at details,again if my eyes are not lying me completely

so great things are hidden behind small details indeed... ialready talked much about our similarities with not only old Latin, but also Tuscan dialects etc. this is abit surprising but says/written like that indeed,and i don't have clear answer why "Sarra" while Columna is Latinfor Colonna, all know

also one "small detail" wiki (English mainly mean in 90% of cases) touches and is worth explaining from someone "knowing more" (as said tough to say who really knows all and what really had happened in any given moment).... it is that it mentions how Emeric (Mag king, not Hun) was first "Hungarian king" to use various things but also title "king of Serbia" i mentioned... he died relatively early, did not see all later fun, nor true creation of Serb kingdom, but something else... it depends and really is complicated as to what some relatively obscure figures previously titled themselves, Serbia was something called "archonty" much before, should "Doclean" titles be considered as exclusively ours i.e. "ekavian Serb" (to say for example), considering how our guys in "kelias" since Flavia Felix indeed hated Dicletioanus :) etc etc. But in some "more modern" times and more sourced, Emeric was in fact first ruler (not only Magyar i.e. Hun) that used that title at all, of all nations/tribes ;... so generally maybe indirectly he gave idea that "Serbia" should/must be kingdom, so not only negative in all, as it happened after his death etc. So fairly said and if we want to extend it again to some more ancient times - then he gave the title some prestige, based on more ancient things etc.... to sayagain, while things are pretty straightforward and clear as explainedand generally once SU I (Dandolo son) strengthened own rule (and "bastard" Dragutin de-throned him, while Miluten "restored" in some indirect way etc) i want to note, and always speek honestly, that Serbo-Hungarian coop wasn't some bad thing, that while I think that we are much older in both region and maybe history - Hungary (then) is not some totally negative image to me and honestly much better than Turkish, Byzant in times, and Bulgar overlordships etc etc. Yes, again being honest, i do think that often Hungarian (even hard as noted to use that name as we called them Magayars longer in private) historians or chronicles wrote some things trying to "give anti-Serb" tone to some our figures, often "anti-Italian" etc. but generally that Emeric title and many positives, Sigi who was not Hun at all :) etc. must be noted for fairness so i did etc... so i note, while clear that Venetians are that for us, someone else for someone other etc.... so, fast forward to modern times, it is almost understandable why Serbs and Italians sometimes sported some "coop" and mutual respect in modern times etc etc. Nothing is totally unrelated....

nice, philosophical almost subjects, important to be fair and mention every deatil so "Emeric" maybe was first of all to use title in later meds.... anyway, let's touch (probably you don't care for every year) that icon in Bari more - in 1319 Dushan either 7, 9 or 11 yeras old (as explained) so clear on looks :) If was during 10 years of Dechanski, still youngish, so you get it, maybe explain which doesn't go as clear by my previous post... but again that is theat sense expressed on many examples - funnieat Michael 8 of Byzant writing autobiography as vampire :) post death - that indeed we in Europe got some years wrong and added, but hard to say, only sometimes some funny year emerge. so if it was 1319 it could be sent from exile in Constant as some "propecy" by "Dechanski" and not Miluten etc.... and he doesn't look very blind there :) but most likely Dushan (maybe) donated it, but minor thing.... like dear "Sharra" another cononization candidate, saying just for our future spaceships :)

considering something i mentioned above - nothing to do with main passion i.e. med subjects :) - but that "cooperation", some own "philosophy" i have since 90s, but it was different time because if we are some figuartive "banana" today, what we were then than maybe just some uneatable thing around on it, even squashed and darkened on the floor and in wars, 4-5 :) ...so who says that meds were worse era, at least there was some respect and deeds that pushed us above our weight if all things i spoke about are understood.... even today it is not so great, not only for us and our "sui iuris" problems, but honestly hard to say anything as whole "western world" is a bit on decline, biological problems, workforce, various "feudal like tendencies" ; etc etc. all known things so i'mnot very smart nor unique to say that etc. (not to say that we are unique even by factthat more pople leave country every year compared to other in "western world")

anyway, always since then talked very much that do not care so much about about powers, really huge countries and what they think about us, so i dislike texts about what (huge) countru A or B think and whatare our concrete state of relations and is it success if president of huge country was here and so on...of course like then (as seen on example of Nemanio seeing to meet Barbarossa, talks with French, HIMs desire to become son-in-law of already dead figure etc etc)) but generally it was "coop"with small Venice, Hungary etc. (and Sciarrillo)) that kept "fun going".... so even today i think strongly that Hungary, Greece, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria etc. is "our world" and somwthing where we should have best relations and strong ties. But even some are now "2-3" times bigger, sounlike some years ago so not remeber when was lasttime that Romanian president was in visit? ; (there was some era post 2000 when then Rom. pres was frequent guest etc).... Italy, then specific and with cute litle states we could "coop" well with is not our league anymore, so Vinegia would be nice :) Even then, once mighty Byzant was "weaker partner" during Miluten onwards :) etc etc. those are some states, with few other on continent, i'd look for best possible relations with, to say, nothing to do with own passionand themes i like, since i mentioned "philosophy" in previous post ;) ....what is some "summarum", somehow med rulers were smarter - Dushan (for example of peak ruler not else) wasn't so frustrated after failure of that marriage with Germans, nor looked for French wife etc. he continued to write letters to Venice, gained support there, even citizenship which Ïtalian page says "was rare and hard to deserve honor for outsider",for unimportant example... so i generally lack more deeper and better ties with at least some/few countries "of our league" and some size, Greece relations are OK but even that is not place of frequent coop etc etc... indeed maybe all that social and economic questions i don't even understand makes us all uninterested for such ties and neccesserily looking towards bigger etc. So again hats off to our rulers in meds, Nemanides, when you consider all that salt on each other, almost incredible how we gained some sugar from some adressess :) ...people often think, "used weakness of Byzant" but actually when you look at it we were in those 150 and more years in constant troubles with actually more powerful country than Byzant, but managed... but indeed different times i just symbolically hope we, Greece and Vinegia (with Roman permit) with Hungarian AI and robots launch something in space but OK it won't be called "Enrico" for sure, maybe "Sciarra" alright far all :) ...BTW, generally think that last 100 years "eaten" all nice moments and thousands of years, even here on city level some do not speak about Dandola but some obscure and really why so important figurines from ww2 and similar, emperor Titus grave etc... (and our mayor is, they say, person with family house in Trieste near Vinegia, should be main figure to think about such themes)) ....i don't know why i posted this all, in moment of bore, but generally (while thanks for some help from France) what is my primar interest is medieval history esp. XII-mid XV c. and practically every small detail you maybe know if can help me or correct or simply add to any subjectm maybe something new youread or catched, as said million times... and again if I said something unprovable, wrong or unbased for any of country (mainly Italy and France i talked) my apology again but really believe in many things said :yes Think my view on Colonnas, Philip IV ideas, Dandolos and how we all connected is, certainly not unique, but fresh... so generally, small repeat again, people often look at "Frnaco-Vinegian" crusade in light of mainly Byzant events, but often forget that one important side effect was what i talked about - they also sent some signal to Hungary and strengthened both our state and culture ;; ...so much funnier and more interesting but example is not most important nor something exclusive etc, just mentioning.........

sure that 90% of even lovers of subjects do not know that such powerful (to get so much salt for free is surely proof of power)) family and "our long faction" in Rome housed both Fante and Petrarca etc, that Dandolos gave them shileds as well, that Miluten was (maybe) one deeply involved in solving of "Aragonese crusade" and other "Vespers" effects by "arresting" Michael maybe after Kavala action (all maybe again but very probable), that Dushan, Petrarca and Andrea talked often ), and thathe aimed as high to accusse some powerful figures in orthodoxy for "heresy" which is funny and so on and on, as talked (and that he 101% did not have strength nor luxury to have such line in "codex", unleast Colonnas or Petrarca or Andrea encouraged him to add attack on "papal forces" sobit of today repeating myth))... so generally was nice, not wasted words for lovers. since next week probably some life changes, but always expecting if something to add, for example dying to hear some opinion if lover from Italy, Venice etc. what is generally some "status" in some neo-discourse on themes on Dandolos, Sciarra and Colonnas generally etc :yes (glad that even small thing like new photo on wiki-page is consequence of my interest and talks))..... not important today as seen above, but think we in Europe on med subjects are far, far from finished and clear, lots to discuss and even add, correct or research ;

while i make many (so normal that even don't care to look nor correct) typing errors (even here not sure always is first or second "r" double, but generally much less i make with pure "latinisms" than later english/french refined words as symply double letters do not exists in our language and indeed were few in "old latin") must say that "Fante" is one of funniest personally :) so legit question is "who the hell is now Fante"? :)

since bored i will also underline or stress out that (while i clearly called him "complicated" and not as "catchable" person few times) one of "bigger" (not so important except in cultural way, but he was around) discoveries of last months is that his Cangrande tie, added to possible - if not myth that he was there, but doubt - Colonna tie, which would make him not "black or white guelph" but straight out "ghibelline" sympathizer in times of some writings and not only verbal (as known as he supported German emperors enterance etc).... but it is not simple and i see (did not look all before as to why is F. :) important for political history again) that his personal page has it all "covered", but is very interesting for us and eventual Miluten's origin......... so again, probably most "revolutionary" but i think sadly unprovable so how to say it ever in serious work, is that theory of "direct Capet" (of course then considered "just" female line) and many things so beautifully fit. Again i don't see why would someone who is from "Baldwins line" or some Hungarian settled family or even from Charles many relatives (Louis IX brother again) be (talking Miluten again) so involved and, even without papers to back all, in almost every move of not only Venice, but also French (quasi guelph) forces and also Cangrande as said... why would be same man "call Clement into help" during clash with brother etc. and why would Venice repeatedly make laws against him, which is rare example.... so any theory is not based just on similarites with Louis behavior, but also why so chirurgical moves that could be followed etc.

while i think (maybe i can't use words well) is clear what i mean, certainly (us considered) greatest theory of middle ages, but very well hidden... but again it is unimportant and unpractical to spend many time to prove that "we were even more connected with France" than thought as in either way we gained more than enough later support from that country in later history, some would say we "blew it" together more than once in region :lol (so twice in history France enlarged us) but hey, for medievalists is interesting subject who Miluten was really and why brother (at first) gave him throne without violence, why suddenly something like civil war rages in Hungary and Capets are strengthened there, frustrating our rulers to extent that Miluten's line think "they should have primate" (or they should be primates, what's wording?).... btw, i also understand some Italian sensibilites of the times and is hard to judge Giacomo "Sara Columna" as he turned to "bloody France" in moments :) ...but unimportant and is old joke if you don't know all traditional sensibilites of Europe.... and, unlike us, France is now republic (even islamic haha, pardon) unrelated to any monarchies of the past and they would rather ruin all that cities that tie them with the past :) If possible, modern engineering makes wonders, ship at least Carcassonne here, look at us, having nothing of kind :)

modernity aside, any politics of XX aside - beauty of meds is that it was all interconnected - what i like (being bore again but really want it repeated) is that Dante and Petrarca used our dinars in markets, and as they say that in Fante's writtings there was often "a lot of personal rather than purely political" it is easy to imagine why he was forbidden in Florence after being caught in markets with falsificates, 7/8 money :) Petrarca was smarter, he used falsificated money in Avignon and Venice when it was alright to do so ) .....must say again since mentioned, probably one of easiest things to totally miss is that Avignon was "move made by us" (among others) initially, only visible after properly understanding Colonna motives and that Philip was tutored by one etc. Really is funny how i fell into trap of "our animosity" (quasi Albanian moves of both Miluten and HIM etc) but surely i now matured on subject and this is my final (and finally closest to truth) thread on it all, so Iwant people to think about it in proper way and not (even if unimportant today) live on lies, but now officially finished... the end, my Latin (heretical) roses :) ...bravo Eco, doctor indeed for (without saying clearly) knowing about our role :yes

considering all that laugh on serious subjects (even turning Palestrina salt into joke, horrible)) i can't help it i guess, nor cure it... it is either nature or Italian comics, or both. Namely, there was extremely popular here their comic-books in 70s and 80s (read also later) by some Bolognese-Milanese authors (like Eco etc), highly comical and satirical and caricaturical, they say popular to incredible level only here outside Italy.... while it was about modern themes some funny "secret agents" in NY, repeating joke and theme was how (very old) group of agents leader talks about famous historical figures, like he was there with them - from Kesar to Nelson etc. So mentioned Kesar is small thief wanted by senate before unwilingly "crossing Rubicon" people around Charlemagne all drunk (like HIM so it was joke based on quasi wine use in meds) and so on (Nelson also drunk, since you ask)) highly caricaturized stories... was legendary and grew on it, having in some box today.... if it is not Italian comics, then it is nature ; and then why it was popular, but i don't see many similarities between us ))

either way, to note how it goes and why always some comical picture when thinking about Sara or Dante even, but it is horrible what French did to you, preventing your usual peaceful life :) seriously when talking about Italian events, it is even stronger maybe.... so think, while sadly original authors from long gone times (except Kesar if he is Italian at all, maybe our guy) rarely had stories and jokes about Italian figures, my addition and Dante trying to use false money goes along good for one episode :) ...same is with our figures, always some comical sense - but except that do take my words seriously, scientifically and truthfully if you never heard any of that ties, known only for hardcore medievalists like Eco, mad poets like Gabriele and obscure Roman families in dark kelias, like Columnas ) maybe such humor and "north Italian" satire is not even known to newer generations there but again no lies nor jokes from me on subjects it is history as it happened and believe me it was us involved in all that, my serenissima, and not laughing at all for French trying to touch you )... the end, but just to mention what is source of some satirical stance, their comics maybe...... but even without it, meds lines and "serious historians" are sometimes so funnywithout trying to be - so how to keep serious face when you find "years after death Michael wrote autobiography" in serious books.... Miluten did not kill him btw, died in prison ; also not me to be one adding to "horrible person who blinded own son and slept with kids" :) both lies i'd say on intelligent person for times, want my Italian serenissime to know, above all else

(most seriously before I go, shocked how many interpret "Fante" so seriously on wiki pages about Miluten or dinar... it was "comedy" after all and much funnier that he punched Vinegia instead etc. so instead of giving "historical facts" Dante maybe satirized some stories around him - so he joked about Colonnas origin by mentioning Caesars home, joked with Philip by boar, joked with Venice and us about who is making "better money" etc. hundreds ways to interpret - but think mine about him spreading fake dinars in Italy is best))

still did no change, probably since second half of week ) but in quiet moment to add... considering that floscula (btw, another latinism in Serbo-Croat rarely used in other languages, in Latin meaning "ornamesnt phrase in speech" in our "empty often used phrase") "western world" and its achievements in my meaning wasn't about "naked or half-naked girls" or some specific freedoms in concrete but i meant more in political sense that we (quasi) passed so much to gain some (quasi) control over state and its officials and not they to be feudal based or the ones controling society etc etc. so that is meaning in my sense.... so i say incredible and big steps back are that we actually were able to have situation in XIX c that parliament was able to force king to abdicate (doesn't matter philosophically who was right in Milan's case, maybe king)) but it was achievement... in later eras, Aleksandar, Titus etc. till today almost unimaginable even if there is no king ;) but practically yes, in some sense step back...

so generally that is what i meant... considering naked or half naked girls and all philosophy about it i.e. women and their role in society, from our medieval standpoint i'm glad there was some "sense about it" and positive examples.... not only HIM and famous episode on "Holy mountain" (obviously Dushan intentionally provoked some spirits if we accept that he wanted to "struggle with church") but also like that longivety of Dandola whose king was long gone, that episode that Helen wasn't just "run through" with sword by Dragutin and faction but he even forced to give her land and apology etc etc. So another reason for "hats off" to Nemanide era rulers in that sense and almost with small humor i'm surprised that Dushan is not seen continentally as one of "feministic or rights figures" for unimportant example ).... btw, my story about Elena Gattilusio is justnice drama story and we really do not know, but George was also relatively smart and not so bad figure, in fact we were, maybe subjectively, gifted whole that time in high and late meds not to have some really totally mad, brutal or similar ruler ;... so again no need to waste words about HIM and his citizenship as noted, Petrarca ties, Miluten as hospital builder, George paid a lot of money where he had no obligation to do so, from relics to buying out some Greeks with paying ransom..... but even if "female rights" what was my initial idea, shined on few mentioned examples and in times of "biological and relations crisis of western world" you get my trick why it would be nice to present us as such to Italian and French females :lol

for end, questions of (as i put) "naked girls" (are girls who are used, pardon 100X, publicly as mobile pissoars and so on, really those fighting for more rights and others "conservative", for minor example)) and those kind of issues is as noted highly discutable and philosophical and not so straightforward... besides, they are not only used by "western men" important to note ;) ....but anyway, was on something else, while even here as man, honestly liking female beauty, hinestly say that I don't have some clear opinion what is "more favorable" for average (even poor in global scale) man like me. Considering "biological crisis" I am one not blaming women at all nor chagnes in lifestyle, as indeed many males decide to not live family life, do not have kids, plus (big change from previous times) poorer people properly decided not to have kids or big families like was case before, finally started to think about "not being able to give proper life to kids" etc etc.

in any way again - my previous floscula as we say not to be missunderstood as exclusively something about lifestyle and how girls look ) it was about our political achievements ; ....but again, glad i added that in med history actually we shined even on that few times. So i like that "vespers myth" and how it started, you probably do not know but story is that leader of our "first revolution" in XIX was also quasi made outlaw in similar way, after witnessing some quasi rape, killed enemy army member and run to Austria etc etc etc.... but what i really meant and miss are strong institutions and that parliament that could threaten and attack, outvoice our first modern king and simlar things in "western world" floscula ;

"philosophy" and world views are so lovely subjects and really just few lines...

100% sure I mentioned (his time was more legendary) quasi Servius reforms of Roman kingdom army where was concluded "richer, having more real estate or land etc. (money, but initial censuses were mostly based on land ownership) will serve longer in army (cavalry ranks for example) as they have more to lose in case of Rome fall"

also remember, contrary to popular opinion about Marx and some "poor masses" :) that also quasi legendary line dates back to ancient Sparta, some king really don't know talking from head or maybe omni-present and legendary (like Servius) "Lycurg" -os replied that Sparta and its status "is best preserved by Spartans being poor and not desiring to have more their fellow citizens" ;

saying just because touched subject - and i said it wrongly :lol - that mainly poor (while true compared to previous eras what was my point) decide to live childless or with less kids ; ....generally no rule, even those having stable jobs, enough material abilities decide to be so, hidding behind "not good" ; ....so no rule there so i BTW remebered from head those lines attributed to actually kings of old times not "proleteriat" or similar ;) ....but honestly, both Rome and Sparta were sh*t, and too liberal sexually :) and created just a lot of problems to this beautiful, spece destined humanity.....

sexual subjects are nicely used and "thrown as dust in the eyes" by smart rulers and those having enough, like nice thing to forget other, much greater "disparities" and who really "owes what to society" ; .... but i like them and think it is "best way of communication" ....but i'm mostly muted and silent then ) but if you paying i also go to orgies :) ...btw, nothing to say to meds leaders, they took a lot of money they did not deserve but "krk!" heads fell :) ...but even that is honestly myth, "command from first lines" and so on, some yes some no, George was mostly counting behind ), some sultans and Euro kings fatly behind first line :) nor we all were exactly defended by "our guys" always as mercs were widely used and so on, so on some fileds (not that)) there was some "French Templar bastard" against "our good hero French" sometimes...... it was one Dandolo who i think changed usual mercs for "military draft", iirc

think biggest change in modern times is that actually more and more people do not care about anything.... to repeat again, if you have interest, fresh ideas or some correction on whole range of med subjects, even if i'm not weeks around, always add, you know what interests me, let's make pub fun and more lively and if we find our interst in total alligment, who knows, amybe more ;;;

to say also this comically, in lack of any subjects but is "fun fact".... our city mayor, i mentioned myself uninvited in any sense except that he as one having house in ex-Vinegian land of Trieste should be first to care about promoting "progressive Dandolos. Patrarca and us" (and statues, think this city deserves Petrarca statue as one whose rulers were in "Petrarca camp" in 1300s) historically not me :) is btw ex-waterpolo player, even one who was once maybe baest in the world in his sport.... resepect for that, fair to say... funny part is that he is involved in ww2 figurines, he was also involved in recent "controversy" regarding new central bus station here (for national and international maybe lines, not city bus) and how initially name was writen in latin letters, so he urged it to be changed in kirilineko and only english and funny things like that )

why i say this also as subject? well as i was one to grow in last few decades from "childish" things and personally recognoize that Serbo-Croat is indeed one language, with few dailects, one being "Greeco-Roman" ekavianism ; like our Serb, others Croato-Bosno-Monte etc. as said... so to me things like those, while I know both cyrilic letters and national history better than many as seen, are not mature and totally unimportant as majority of Serbs use both letters (and latin i'd say in majority) privately etc etc. so just some glance on our themes today for fun :)

also king of E-Swatini (small land of some million+ in southern Africa, ex-Swaziland for Sexons or ex-Zulus for fun and respect) is in visit, Eswatini sounds friendly like E-Spain, ones who did not hide nor are ashamed of EE :) ....despite obvious opinion of what we have to do with it and that region, I remind all that exactly Serbian is one of (facultative i.e. by choice) recognized official languages in ex-Zululands i.e. South Africa... talked subject since Brit empire we had some emigration and presence there so language gained even status... can't say we were included in wars against Zulus or Dutch/Boers but who knows :) ...all said for fun and as purely pub themes ; as for latinic letters, uh-oh - the Turks known for stealing both lands from Greeks (not to say Romeans) and ones once using Arabic culture and heritage for centuries, did not make any drama about Latin letters use ;) sapienti sat.

really nothing new on medieval subjects or anything of scientific/detective importance, but said enough... hope for the day presidient of Venetian republic comes to visit and states how we were crucial part of their growing and world-wide positioning as today famous city and that we gave them open hand and all in times when they were punched by all, did not have any today famous structuresand were recieveing justr handful of pigs as tribute and had illiterate Doges :yes that said i absolutely support and love whole Italy, as law and as said.... be greeted and as said, if any interest to exchange any opinion or new fact on many mentioned things, welcome to me - things of no importance but personal pleasure ;

so again, while here, "return to middle ages" and quasi traditions should not be "mental and serf like" but true recognitions of values we had and positive things we could "profit on" (don't think only unimportant money but greater and more eternal things) from those same traditions, times and history... while we talk about (honestly Bulgarian) traditions, about nationalistic figures etc. Miluten stays in "Serbica" (in Bulgaria), Dushan was almost lost forever (luckily and gratefully eteranlly for few scientists) etc etc.... BUT even more important to remember things like who those figures were, yes they used cyrilic letters skilfully (but they also knew, wrote and even issued coins on latin, using shameful Roman word for coins even)) who was queen once, what enabled even trace of cultural survival and any notion of nation (surely not ww2 figurines again) and that they were not ashamed of contacts with Contis, Dante, Petrarca, Colonnas and all on D. ; ....we are all ready to agree that Vienna is more beatiful in any sense than our capital, and history couldn't be changed but do we ever ask why same city (even Moscow) has statues of Roman figures for first example, while we are country much, much more related to it than both mentioned? but who in the world (except Italy) knows that? ....other examples i mentioned, no Euro country had Dandolo queen, no country has same figure awarding both recognition to bloody :) Petrarca and citizenship to our king etc etc. but who in the world knows that...

as is old saying (Servius?) - dogos bark and caravans pass... but really there could be much, much more done for some historical and cultural positioning than it had been... no one to blame, it could be done even now even if our castles "were blown up 400 years ago"... from Roman markings, bustsetc to more historical figures, including those from meds we rightfully and without any myth have right to connect with us.... "image" and all, guess many things could have been different for us if we followed just our own history in some positive way, not destructive and negative only.... nice that there is Tesla statue at airport but realistically what that man had with this country :lol

really like this song, so repeat, was in some company today, was relaxed and whenever i take few strong drink this one suits so well :) but small known intermezzo from this medievalist.... wish was there at least in one battle with this playing for me and some unavoidable wine.... :lol

I say always and said here million times that linguistics are very interesting subjects and could help historians and simply lovers very much, but again slippery area and sadly many wrong conclusions were made through time and, equally sadly many maybe right or scinetifical theories were "rejected" or cornered through time as they maybe seemed "too fantastic" to too many, but were maybe "bullseye" and true in fact... btw, since mentioned that word for one "western or European" letter form i.e. cyrilic letters just fell on my mind that in our modern prnounce it is also one where we accepted "modern Italian shape" and is adding to many words that historically we did not pronounce that way before but we do now - so it was (hard) Kiril once (and is closer to Latin and old Greek) but now we say Chiril like Italians would do... our original "kelia" became "chelia" like Italians would do etc etc. mentioned words... beats me whyand is (if unimportant) interesting subject in both ways - why Serbs (in concrete) preserved some more Latin prnouncements unlike Italians and alsowhy during time we abandoned them in favor of more modern Italian ways to say etc.

not "expert" (honestly many that would say are just guessing as known) on that field but always some fascinating secrets.... but what I know and what i mentioned myself as btw theme so not to be misinterpreted ) ....I see that many Croats for example think that (historically) that Serbian Serb "ekavianism" is something of purely Bulgar influence, or something of generally "other/Macedon Slavs often not Serbs but it is true fact that many fascinating toponyms survived deep into Greece that hide "Serb" name in it etc... but, I'd like to repeat here and underline fastly that we don't know what exactly is "source" of that "eka" in lands geographically more distant from Italy, sometimes even Greek presence cities in Dalmatia/Albania etc.... so even though i said "Bulgarian traditions" aiming in cyrilic letters which is maybe true as Serbs of the time very much battled Bulgars, organized more western and had rulers that had very unusual names and prcticed often Roman rite (it was time before "schism" BTW so nobody cared that much) etc. So to young Croat readers (for example) that "eka" is (i talked many times but maybe not clear as i said simple) is not "Bulgar thing" and was disputed between Serbs and Bulgars all to XIX c.... proposed is (as i said) that it was due to many Roman presence, legions and palaces in today Moravian Serbia, Danubian bassin etc.... so definitely not "Bulgarian per se" but might be much older, but talked that did not I and is lovely subject of no political importance... what is true that of Serbo-Croat again, that Kosovo-Moravian Serbian (river not entity like around Czech etc) is closest to Latin speek of all here... unimportant but worth repeating many times people to simply get idea of it and why even old Celts who share same name as we almost were in mix ;) ....in political sense though we of course did not abandon idea of regianing "Serbica" (Sofia) and renaming it back, so we are not in particular hurry to move Miluten yet :lol seriosly, important to mention as fun fact for example to younger Croats if interested, sometimes feel that even (for example) Brits know of have idea about that more than some speaking same language, so history is fun....

here's one (I say) beautifully composed Eng article on (only touching as we are talking many, many centuries before)... I mean i did mention it but think did not link to it and how many really true interesents on subjects did look at it :) ...repeat, this is both "diplomatically composed", truthful to extent (but why would we trust Constantine as his words being "facts" completely as he liked Stefan etc) and too me maybe most important of all - very enigmatic and in detective way (not exactly Agatha but close)) writen article so on scale from 1 to 10 some 7 ) ....why enigmatic and nice, as it indirectly trying to say few important things... that that area between modern Serbia nad Bulgaria was "disputed and fluid" that old Serbs indeed used bloody Latin words like true cornered Roman legions :) and that some our scholars had effect of spreading it wider "like Latin literarute in the west, we did it in other areas" etc. Not purely Serb thing, not purely Bulgar but indeed Serb name and toponyms more fit in some old Roman words etc etc. without any needless controversy here, so Eng gave it "all clear"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantine_of_Kostenets

generally lovely article and makes us "enigmatic class" but not without mistakes.... that Konstantin died in Serbia soon after George "golden fork" took overso never made move to Rus' any of it ;.... second we might guess that he belonged to Stefan's ideas, mentioned Sigi and Colonna faction, confirmed by his wars with Venice when dear Vinegia was again on some offensive and on their own :) touched Este possesions and attacked Stefan's forts, just BTW said to mention why story in his "sources" is incomplete as we are talking of much more continentaly involved person than Bulgarian rulers ever were in last 500 years then, so he couldn't comprehend completely all Serb factions and ties ;) ...but without few mistakes, generally good one for other things mentioned and giving reader clear suspension and enigma, but touching clearly that ancient things and "Serb theories"

...best of all is my (and other imaginative folks) theory that Konstantin was killed by George's agents for mentioning Genoese wife, otherwise never mentioned else :lol but who knows, in this way only good for some drama flik to conquer "Anglo Sexon" markets with good taste for it ) ...hope yu make any conclusions but again, short but very good article, touching many things but also that i talked just on surface as things we talked about are from 1000 years before and dragged along....

also would like to use this chance and activity on otherwise very active forums for history lovers ), with high possibility not to be on subjects say anything for weeks, and give people another example how you "make historical theories or fiction"... i dislike pure fiction but anything that is based on something truthful is OK if spread or imagined.... Brian Aldiss - let alone Agatha and her "choo-choo" orient mumblings :) - never used pure fiction and probably heard story that (very drunk)) Vukashin survived battle and threw few lines on it, for example

so for example and very fast in this case there is no "huge imagination" and pure fiction, doubt you did but i didand man, our degenerated kesar of once glorious empire lasting whole 20 years (but why would we agonize us and world like our old Romans with their 450 imperial years of orgy and decadence, we are fast and productive, empire, divisions and collapse in amazingly effective 2 decades)) on whose court Konstantin died, suffering from sword penetration ;

most serious - our once glorious kesar where writer and educator died was old man whose grandad or dad once gained title from HIM Dushan himself... he later in history and after Ankara battle (i have no grounds nor need to doubt and reject that our knights were forced to participate there unlike other battles again Sigi etc it is BTW now best know as battle to topple long raining Erdogan)) seriously though, he was in George and Brankovich family camp and as Stefan argued and finally clashed with them, that kesar Ugljesha (not in relation to more famous named man from before) changed sides and told some plans of attack to Stefan, becoming later close to him, serving him and Konstantine urgently "run from Belgrade and Danube" as George approached, to him.... so, to cut it short when you know those facts - no fiction, no lies, just some not true but "could have had happened" story added and ta-daaaa.... realistically, George now main man in Serbia had some animosity and resaon to dislike and even "revenge" to both that kesar and why not Konstantine and to ruin every trace of dear Elena Gattilusio, as George was also Venetian citizen later or sooner ;..... however despite nice drama story and how it works without pure fiction - it is story and most than obviously Stefan and George made some peace during one of our famous parliament sessions and Stefan declared George his successor ;) that's fact.

but in very fast mod and for pleasure to share how it is easily done by just checking some facts... generally story as many in our history of the time is nice, you add even some Italian city state divisions and it is alright... if you do not want action drama with agents and fights, you can do it in "Eco way" some drama in Serb monastery with progressive faction of (quasi) humanist Stefan and Colonnas, against some more merkantile and greedy faction of George.... and then some English guy, franciscan we had them, a la Connery comes and we sell it to them :) ...just demonstration that there was no fiction in story and that man and court where Konst. died, was in some "old debt" to George "golden fork".... mentioning Connery and his other roles, generally "golden fork" sounds like good villain from 007 series and did I tell that 007 was our guy blah blah :lol ...sold to Sexons, but generally and excuse my small wits, was serious how you look at details and connect them on any on first sight unvisible story without much fiction at all. think enough from me while active, as always something i honestly think valuable and for knowlwdge expanding :yes

still looking at some pages and similar, listening nice thematic music and all that so to say finally..... silly me totally forgot and nothing to forget there as i told myself, it is not even important to talk what Serbs and Bulgars thought once and how maps looked like, as indeed it were Byzantine by us called Romean emperors and historians that said it themselves (doesn't matter how wrongly but why not truthfully, what it changes exceprt it is fun fact) that "Serbs came from Greece" that some cities in Greece were named after Serbs etc. It was (also) one Constantine Porfirogenit (as is our pronounce) emperor, regent prince and famous "De administrando imperio" work, through whole middle ages Romeans themselves at least in works considered Serbs as ancient, some sort of old tribe definitely not like others by them for saying... Thracians, Celts, Tribalii, ex-Sirmians (Roman base) by Greek map etc etc. So there is no controversy at all there while generally remains unimportant in political sense...

while subject is super interesting, glad "Sexons" (but not only them mentioned and posted Abraham "not that" map among other doubts in European heads of our origin) gave it some attention etc. I insist since touched by myself and only for people loving knowledge while maybe did not know facts... Nobody to have any illusions that we have any political pretensions on part of Greece nor it is possible even with super strong army it is just one superb historical subject, Greeks hence touched themselves... in other way, HIM is one extraordinary guy for many things said, we could as small nation be only "proud" of for intelligence, knowledge and education so he spoke languages Barbarossa struggled with whole his life :) he was recepient of "prestigeous award" in Italian eyes, rarely awarded citizenship to non-Italian ; and one guy who surely shaken some roots of both western and eastern monasticism and religion by daring actions and attack on churches, for example... conquest unimportant and wouldn't surely last forever ; ....emissary of powerful papacy came to him talked to him and couldn't publicly say anything against him, so extraordinary figure for small tribe - and last by not least, and why archeological part was important,confirmed that he was among tallest European rulers of times and history, so figure frm fairytales indeed ;) generally subject of his and Miluten's knowledge and ties is interesting, why not continentally while subject of some origins super interesting.... gnerally on wide range of subjects must say that on English language pages found some truthful and honest things, and generally even respect... really Bulgarian capital (while super story of old name)) and any part of Greece, Macedon or what to us unimportantand if important it is one of countries we have one of better relations generally ; so take it as science what it is... probably that much for now, while i have until mid week etc.

btw, who cares I do not, but was recently some text and was by some "int" agency of some 80 (just) countries rated we were quasi on the bottom of today "cultural and economic etc i did not read really whole but many times i do look at details", only Belarus quasi below :) In fact (as rankings mentioned history as well) for its size and population most objectively and when you really know details and not engaged in "pamphletism" Serbia is country of unproportionally (for again size) "big" historical footprint and influence, things it took part in and spread around ;) no argument and our med ties just approve ;...but anyway, even without it, subjects are fun... it is ot our fault that once tich and visited libraries were ruined, many paintings as well etc etc. and (for example) rich library of our monastery 100m from "holy sepulture" in Jerusalem finished in Vienna, Moscow or Kiev... or Kiwi :) (nothing bad in word and it is our word, Latin as well, while using other is free choice if you want to make "message")

regarding "not our fault" part, while true for things mentioned and that country would surely look different without turbulent events and invasions - equally is true, and maybe notion of unimportant article, that we were de facto self ruled right from the start of XIX c, and (!) by that fact alone much sooner than many, despite properly whining about foreign invasions and all.... so more than enough time. Russian architects after revolution they often say, but it could be otherwise... for minor example since XIX and notably start of XX there were concrete plans from some Franco-Belgian arcitects (really not even close to remembering name and is it really important) to make some things in Belgrade even drafts were made including triumphal arches etc :) maybe not in line with city of the time (which was also relatively small) but point is that never realized and both we and French decided to first "punch Austrians i.e. Habsburgs" and revenge both unsuccessful marriage bid for our king for Habsburg girl (who was also greatgrandchild of maybe "Capet" king so French had interest for revenge)) and not only that but also centuries of rivalry between French lines and Hansburgs, even without us so French were were weaker side..... both our "important" kings were in Paris, knew Paris, so both Milan (while sleeping with Churchil's mother is success, he could realistically learn more there)) and of course so called "Pierre", Peter who arguably even took part in defense of Paris in 1870s etc...

comical, but true parts aside generally we in allthose turbulent times even lost ability to recognize some true values and if not values in some "humanitat" way (while i argue that Dusciano could be easilyseenas feminist figure and both some proto-protestant) thansomething that could easily boost prestige.... soi mention Dandolo queen, French one and of course looking at (totally unimportant today i agree with all but for "schmeck") our own kings a bit differently - for example of mentioned not at really influencive king of high education as "nephilim who quasi killed father" one who launched us into Italian politics as one who "blinded son" etc :lol I think that inability to recognize some nice moment is reflected as deep and as wide that I'm 110% sure that even on small jobs better candidates for place are often rejected and worse taken and things like that ; ...really that much, our things to us, but if you have some meds stories, even ancient we maybe do not know or from dif angle, very welcome and some objective, not subjective talk :yes in any way ithink with "we had St Louis daughter" wins for now :lol (as theory, supported as fiction by few French historians) and so on.... but ones that our higher class was in Greece, descendent from Felix legion or similar not bad... other things youmaybe heard for first time are not theories, just known before for experts, so Andrea-Petrarca-Dushan trio, Colonnas and Contis with us, Miluten arresting Michael Paleolog maybe at Kavala etc etc. etc

really want to say also this, always honest and trying to be truthful as much as possible.... so i honestly said that am more lover of some Spain-France-Italy trio in some way i think i'd live there more easily, sensibility or really things like that, humor... while other countries obviously have some own stronger sides (Brits even some humor for example)). anyway in some educative way must say and i said did not I, even diminitively calling Sigismund "the head chopper", Sigi :) etc. And always mind i'm not expert nor huge private lover of modern history, just knowledge geos by itself...

but really and paradoxically, if Serb is to be honest, until 1941 (actually 1914 but it was more Austrian action, just with minority of Austrians except officers etc) really and honestly Germans as collective including all sub-states often privileged us... from medieval prospective i can say a lot and did... Barbarossa promissed, Palman led "a guard" with motto "through fire if needed for emperor" :) Sigismund gave cities (except George who had to return as being Venetian spy)) to really being on same side "in Colonna camp" often (and spiritual franciscans) etc etc. Sexons (not those ones we usually mean)) in mines and communities that often did hard job for Georges :) profit etc. Hey, Germans were ready to crush half of Czechland and Poland maybe - but not us at all, Teutons even served as robots ; ...historical truth. Later, mentioned Orthelius was German in some origin (not distant), Habsburgs really favored us, enabled "krajinas" more or less, but even in Trieste example, while Italians worked on our "palaces and institutions" it was meeting with Mother Theresa :) who ordered that "Serbs must be listened, or..." and further, already had enough of typing ) but clear and fair i'd say... interesting is why then i personally (while Claudia is/was super) I'd still prefer Flavia Felix :) and think that joke to rename Vienna back to "Barbara Silva" is super and even Germans laugh on it :)

can't be just 30 years or just 5 etc... simply maybe that southern feel and some personal, maybe genetic as well relation with Roman empire etc. (which was sh*t)) But to say, really educative for history lovers in majority of history they privileged us even served or respected us, fai enough again

if you don't follow the joke, Claudia (7th) and Felix (4th) were 2 most famous legions stationed for longer in Serbia, then relatively important Meosia or Mesia superior province, until Diocletianus ruined it, "reformed" into "greater Albania" :) etc. Both legions were related and possibly (or surely depends on historian i guess) raised by Kaius.... what do you men which Kaius, well Kaius Kesar! as we say, conqueror of Kalia and put them all in kelias ;.... while i did make reference to her ) and if you ask we were close to "royalize" two like her in meds, from I'd say maybe top German families of the times, also could be added to "renown of small tribe".... i really can't explain that moment BTW, theorized a lot, all up to Servian well and for collective "barbarians" (so Franks, all Germans, Normans who also contacted us etc) known legions and fighters stationed in lands we controlled, but maybe it was that "arrest of Boris sons" (maybe even him but hidden) that launched "Serbs" into some fame, speculation.... in a way like relatively small "Hungarians" were maybe famed for "Hun" name, we were maybe related to prominent legions in area maybe etc.

anyway, some other subjecti find helpful to share. During this year also crystalized that "methodology" in old history research, as seen.... while we all certainly doubted many so obvious things that fantastic, so example 300 Spartans, Maritsa battle (what, we were drunk alright seeing double!!)) and similar, obvious things so we all lovers rejected sources, it came to me also that instead of "breaking head" and trying to find some explain we could also reject some less obvious things as well... so i concluded on Dushan quasi lines (his sister was married to catholic, he respected for centuries in Ragusa, one gate connected with him, Venetian citizenship etc etc) but also with using logic whole Nicopolis story, i.e. Stefan participation at all...

let's touch it again - Sigismund few years earlier "cut" some Croat nobles (mentioning "treason" at N. among other things) attacked Bosnia with huge army (so he had ability to rise army) BUT in contrast he just 7-8 years after "kisses Stefan" gives him cities and land, makes him first in own knight order and so on, while man was quasi at N. :lol so i think more than obvious manipulation and why important to look at other moments before saying anything or think twice.... but we i think discussed it enough, think my standpoint is valid on few ocassions and it is important if we are to understand events, not just have some chaotic stories around.... simply, we are not only talking absence, but also what i'm saying is that there was no hurdle for Sigi to simply even attack some possessions, let alone even enlarge Stefan's... if we even accept that they respected us "more" or even knew some secrets - Louis just few crowns before Sigismund had no problem to at least attack (or probe as he always retreated or just took at least what Sigi gave) much more powerful Dushan the HIM ;) pure logic at work, no mythomania... think worth repeating in moment of mention, as well as gladly accepting any independednt thinking why (could be said) Germans and Franks etc. had some respect

that much really.... regarding Claudia again.... very very good legion.... indeed.

really is incredible when you stop for a moment, think about one simple line and how historical irony is big and how XX c actually turned things upside down or twisted them, turnaround what is word but yoy get it.... "German kaiser attacked Bosnia and Croatia :) 500 years before while "kissed Serb (ekavian)) bitt a bit" and supported us, while 500 years fast forward it was the opposite :) ....funny but true. Second obvious joke is on same line "are you sure that Sigi wasn't Serb in origin?" :) ...and third joke is - when you consider that once when "Germany had border with Croatia and Bosnia, they attacked them" well you can't blame the Serbs, it is natural :) etc.

jokes and "ekavian wits" (or moravian or resava school)) aside, other thing that came out different when you really go into small, but important details of meds, you start to also think differently than you would usually do on some subjects.... natural, sane mind way of thinking is that actually some things "benefited us" in some ties we made then, concretely thinking with other kingdoms or republics like Venice... but details considered and some things i tried (hopefully successfuly) tried to touch and introduce in research i.e. looking at all is this... actually - and said it indirectly - Venice wasn't so powerful as we think, some kingdoms as well, maybe France, nor some German states etc... to really cut it short and simplify it, but i share as idea to lovers and researchers - it could be maybe often more that some approached us rather than we them as i said, for their benefit.... look at troubled Barbarossa (but i did not mean him just example) he had maybe interest to approach us and our caste for reasons as it was known that "we by then already had good ties in Rome" (Conti wife was alreday here if all true, before his visit)... same is with French who approached in time of uneasy ties with "Roman nobility", cardinals and papacy and just after Sicilian takover, Hohenstaufen (attempted) "replacemant" by French etc. They had interest (we are speculating but why not) to tie with us, for ties in Rome and Italy generally... third, but maybe less important of all - Venice approached (but maybe not by some theory) in times when they were troubled themselves, but this is really least important example as Italians are Italians.... so in some speculative way, and with twist i'm excercising for some time chain of events might be - Italians first approach us who knows when really and since when we maybe had some Italian ties and wives. They approach us for many reasons, one maybe being honest belief that "Serbs are ancient and our" (as speculatively talked so much)... so we gainties among Roman nobility and similar... then others approach usfor own benefits, or imagined ;... speculation but not pure fantasy if you honestly understand all i talked about so why not putting it that way for med history lovers...

must say also, unrelated, that it is pitty that some games or modern maps (sometimes unimportant) often present us as "not existant" since some late XIV, often part of Hungary or Turkey.... actaully very untrue, "despot" was in rank of "king" but just given from Romeans and we even had own logothetes and kesars etc. Actually 2 if we even reject that our two rulers served Ottomans at all in any important battle (except Ankara where many have been maybe as of "fear of Tamerlane" and maybe some inter war as one Turk pretendent was more aggressive to Stefan, other not so they made pact) it in some "historical value" shows that Turks were actually right to continue conquest or "crush us" as we constantly ploted and took action against them ; ...think Stefan's role in events is more told truthfully by his ties with Sigi and how Pippo came few times ("in unnamed battles"), his role in order etc etc. than any simply untrue role as "Turkish servant" ; ....black armor, "unwilingly" etc. or not - why not saying he wasn't even there or did not have any role in Turk victory (maybe even turned around in Ankara in moment when Turk camp was about to fall etc and why some Turks wanted to attack him and prevent his return to Serbia already in 1402 etc).... while we can maybe conclude that they were right about Stefan and George working against them (with right of course) so views like mine "benefit" them in way that they did not attack us only as "dishonest or lacking control" - do not take it as some Turk apologist view as surely to me "1000 Maritsas can't wash them for conquering us" :lol but views of Stefan total absence and maybe "turning around" at Ankara are legit... actually if things like those are true i even respect them much more....

of course of course like always all is openmindedly said and only for lovers of some away times.... i have similar passion for talking about Felix and Claudia and really like those themes.... only first paragraph of this post has some "philosophy" :) and honestly do not even like to talk XV c, nor Turks honestly, nor Bosnia nor Croats ) that much, but Stefan and George deserve special magnifying glass just for reasons mentioned, as some think that we "disappeared" from map earlier, while there was huge and eventful 50-70 years more.... "Golden fork" is huge subject for film :) .........btw, also seen that Wiki page on Sigi states (quasi) how he is recently "renewly interesting for modern talks on themes in central Europe" etc etc. don't consider much myself "central Europists" as we are more "land of Rome" and somehow more similar - but glad i could add something fresh on subjects - so definitevely good old Sigi chopped few heads :) but in the same time good character for us, gave capital, gave respect and asked in situations ;) surely better than also old pals Habsburgs in 1914 :) (but if Elisabeth "Claudia" Hanbsy survived and became our queen before Hungarian, who knows, who knows.......)) ...always add if know, really tried my all in some "give something new on old themes" approach, so hopefully enriched every reader.... in some way it is point in us researchers of older themes, to surprise and give hidden details....

so what about George, golden fork? think it is relatively new in some aspects, maybe even relatively interesting for Hungarians (and all sub-countries of their overlordship) and some others as indeed there was some negative fame (often misunderstanding) about him and his role etc. I think today, Hungarians i.e. again Magyars would agree if having true deep knowledge, that we could mainly (but not exclusively) look at "our combined events" often in light of some Venetian influence and tries to "tie with Serbs" more than they were ever tied with others and some struggle of the type, so not surprise that they awarded citizenships tergeting people like HIM or George as they showed some (more than obvious) "pro-Vinegian leanings" etc. Relatively new moments are that (only recently talked here) George devaluated our dinars and really many small details that "Venetia wanted" (killed Elena Gattilusio etc))... so really if interested, could be said that George was some "Venetian player" above all, if interesting for Hun researchers on some new details, not so important on his "Ottoman absence" as his head was also wanted by them on few ocassions etc. so it might be Venice behind some moves, above all..... Miluten is some exception and truely intersting per se, so instead of looking him in relation to Venice, more interesting is to notice that his lines were in line with some Colonna moves and above all that he was "half-French" and not only that, but also maybe (great fiction) grandchild of St Louis and by that Miluten was like "I'm king" "I'm holy king" (I'm France.... and I'm defintely not going to visit Egypt ever!)) if you get it...

but, something else as well, relatively newi guess.... his behavior could be also seen in light of events and ties I talked, or conspirationally tried to talk... it really is complicated and maybe "too heavy" for non-experts, maybe not understandable even, but it seems that George's rule came in times when again (despite Venetian pope Eugene, but said million times cardinals and doges are dif things) Colonna family and whole faction (then also in ties with Contis in some events in central Italy), after death of Sigismund, "disobeyed" some policy or ties or attempts, simplified said.... so i talked that "Roman republic" Colonnas declared, another "salting" of Palestrina :) but also (Huns maybe know, schoolars certainly) there are things like Eugene and his ilk trying to lead some "new defense" including that one bishop who was in defense of then Hungarian held Belgrade was Eugene's man of confidence (and hence anti-Colonna) and things like that, maybe too deep for forums like these.... so might be that George and his behavior, Venetian agent aside ), might be or should be looked through that prism as well, if we accept that we almost never went far differently than "Colonna stand" and opposed or ignored Roman factions almost as they did.... even regardless of Conti stand, so important to mention that one our faction actually on events around Emeric, Dandolo rise and our kingdom declaration, directly opposed Conti pope ("Not-guilty 3")) if known. While i postulate that many times Contis found some mutual line against (maybe non-Roman i.e. Venetian Orsini), there were insatnces of opposite - anyway, George times could be one moment when Colonnas aagain dominated "our discourse" (like Miluten, like Dushan)... maybe i doubt, but really hope you understand alland how we can look at George as well.... so more pro-papal Albans even in moment supported some action, some Hungarians but George had "double minds" because Colonnas just again got into trouble with "Rome" in about years of our fall.... etc.

great subjects, what else to say.... but lets concentrate on Claudia now.......;

as i said dislike to talk about others much (if we are not involved even indirectly) but of course we all must touch "Roman themes", esp. we )... during past months really dig deeper often following some outside sources, but even wiki articles are often enough to get some idea even on surface... so i (honestly) while knowing Colonnas for long (i wrote Collona first here, proving that i knew them but did not look at sources while talking)) so i honestly did not know other details outside of it, hence that they are branch - is it speculation, guess not as in Italy much more sources survived than here - of also "conti" but of Tusculum i.e. known as "Theophylacti" family (interesting not so "traditionally" neo-Italian sounding etc) BUT Colonnas are not them, just might be that one memeber started separate Columna family.... but of course they originiate from Kesar as we all know :)

anyway, while i said that families are not same (btw, similar is thing with our Nemanides who started own line since name bearer, while family is centuries old of old "archonts") nor we equalize them, interesting details are that so that "conti of Tusculum" for longer had pro-Romean (so pro-Byzant) stands against Germanic (including Franks here, Carolings etc) influences and "neo-imperialism"... so first interesting detail and something where we (so Serbs) Venetians and Roman nobility also were in line i.e. similar, but we changed a lot mixing with "barbarians" :) and greeting Barbarossa ) etc... so generally i see in it another tie and possible speculation of our nobility image among Greeks and Italians, but needless to repeat 1000 times, absolved almost.

Second, for lighter themes but also remembered ) they were known as long sporting "pornokratia" :) among Roman nobility, secular but also clergy to extent... interesting terminology and yes it is in a way connected with what you think but not as explicit way, so word is going about some mistersses (kurvokratia)). However, same family which dominated much of Roman life in some times before we gained prominence also is related to some reforms, possibly idea of clerical celibacy and similar so changed image of earlier times in more moral way... also they launched reforms in strengthening role of popes/clerics maybe some more "papokesarism" idea, and also something that Innocent III sported - papal laws etc. etc. went to far from joke and it is becoming boring :) but remember term "pornokratia" ) ...AND again those are not Colonnas at all, who were both more secular and pro-imperial or similar, even connected to idea of some ancient philosophy or art forms... but not naked things ) so merely wanted to tell as interesting story, while it is not same family again

second terminology i on instant remembered for end my frend is - Louis IX sporting idea of "catholic orthodoxy"... while it is not even closely funny as previous term to me is as can make joke - that is exactly religion or current our rulers seemed to practice through whole middle ages :lol if you get this one as well ;

that much, that much.... glory to Columnas, our allies in difficult times, to Sciarillo ) and all... as said seeing cries few times in Gabriele work strengthened beleif or confirmation rather of our ties, but unimportant just meds fun facts... really as said those small details make some contures of things people only guessed about and i don't see anything "so awful" or fantastic to decline about that some trio "our elite, Roman nobility, Vinegia" (outside Byzant) in some ancient ways.

i think ultimately, on "our" medieval subjects, people generally can't distinguish some things due to obviuos reasons and sometimes things sound fantastic, or "not like they see them" even if (quasi) knowing something....... one thing and example that fell on my mind is that, surely 1000-1500 years ago some Roman remains and even structures were more visible than today (often need to dig them) if you get it, in places like Moesia i.e. today Superbia :) even more due to imperial cities, forts etc. clear thing. You get my meaning behind this.... also people are often not able to distinguish "true modern eyes" that nobility and people were different things and that was no source of "mass communication" or info, so any press, media, TV, radio or internet :) only rulers get some messengers and similar...

so beautiful example and remind i.e. stories we have from "first crusade" and we are rarity in that sense, we, Huns ) Bulgars etc. as others do not have them.... crusader armies that passed were total suprise for local population, they did not see news on net :) so more than expected clashes already starting in Hungary, Peter the Kermit had to fight for Singidunum and Tuarunum (so Belgrade area) maybe siege and fight true like in old times when Felix operated :) Godfrey was maybe surrounded in one moment by some "Serbs" (but he killed them) and similar shocks and generally comical stories.... equally true is that some Serb ruler named Bodin (sounds equally Slavic like Baldovin and Branus we had)) greeted them, "confirmed all ties" (so our rulers knew about it) even words "brotherly" was used by some crusader chroniclers etc. Must understand the locals it was like "WTF? barbarians all around out of nowhere" and impression that they are here for them....

problems is also that they were all males.... once they started sending wives to us almost to every village, situation changed :) ......really thought much about Claudia recently, reminding myself even.... one of first in "cisalpine Kaul", around Lutetia (Paris), around Alesia, around Belkia, one of only in Britain etc. - but Claudiareally found happines and long settled here, near me where she stayed for years........ :lol bravo, smart one (loved her)

so after mentioning, if you like themes but did not look yourself, let's share it in Eng as "frank" but beside i think it is also one solid article :yes Probably most notable story and a lot, really many events there, beside story of Boris clash in our history before rise of Nemanides, so who likes hope likes )

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constantine_Bodin

he was more likely known as simply Bodin rather than stated name, discutable but OK both ways...Bulgarian and Romean sources (like many) are not 100% trustable as we all know, but honestly like this article... like many details, as it shows that Serbs had some fame that even Bulgar rebels approached them with desire to "crown Serb prince", already good ties with Italians, that Langobardopoulos that defected to Serbs from Romeans by later sources led "Lombard and Serb" united army on Naissus (Nish), Venetian merchants were used (and succeeded) in freeing Bodin from Asia Minor (it seems that all up to Nemanja our rulers often visited Byzantine jails but since him never again)) etc etc. So generally good ties among Serbs and Italians is some btw notion of article, something i talked so extensively.... but beside that nice article and with many details that fit in "Serb origins theories" but not only nor most important thing... Also like how "dirty player" :) i.e. smart to extent as he stood idle few times when escpected to act allowing Norman victory twice :lol etc. Really nice stories and tells a lot about some our previous history and path to strong state that later occured... (also mentiones properly his meeting with Raymond "Monocolus" of Touluse, story is preserved in French chronicles)

likable article, eventful and with nice details :yes Our "enigmatic" parts continued by it... but also shows how truly strong Nemanide state was, and situation turned, we arresting Byzantine emperors and marching with armies often in totally different way through areas... skillfully played indeed. Again, hope you like as it is on of best stories of our pre-Nemanjich times, shows that something bigger was in the making, and if you like hope you want more :) always join, really would like to hear what you like from era

also to note to lovers that Eng article on our (definitely it is our, Serb tribe history despite Rascia being often due to later geography favourized, so i take it now)) so our queen Jaquinta, the Norman one, is must tell story...

let alone Matilda i.e. Maud of England, this one was real bomb :) oh, Norman wives such bombs :) After death of king Bodin she involved herself in politics and Serb "civil war" on behalf of her underage sons and pretendents etc. using methods like "slow-working poison" on other Serb prince (which did not work and he survived), urged military captains to behead some others "in front of Ragusa walls", and using agents to allegedly "castrate and blind" third player in stories, so lovely...

so no doubt Brit drama makers were 100% right about details and depiction of Matilda in that clip i posted long ago.... umissable charm of Norman wives :) but of course not all were like that, at least we and Englisg had many ; but those stories about powerful Norman princesses almost in line... but she was still our queen )... luckily Anna and Helen were nothing like that.... but Jaquinta fire. so yes, while i and most always concentrate mostly on Nemanide Serbia, some great stories before (and after as mentioned)... so i did not post Matilda (nor Philip) clip for no reason and Serbo-Norman coop was seemingly deep and productive & we should not ignore that period if lovers of older themes

what do you mean she was Langobard? Are you trying to say that our beautiful, charming and gentle queen was "bearded woman"? :) ....on that to say, while his fathers name (which was later name of one our youngest prince which did not mature due to Jaki finishing in jail) indeed sounds more "Lombard" it is often stated that they were "Normans", but isay million times that names per se are "wrong way" in some ethnicity distinction way and not should be proof of anything.... so southern Italy was place of great mixing and various tribes, like here, but important to note that even some clear Norman persons had even "latinized or greekezied" names even, long before our queen (was Norman Sergius etc).... so we all take it they were of Norman or half origin in our case, supported with our stand and great allieance with Normans in here times etc.

For intereaction must ask would you prefer/choose - in given situation and if faced with Jaquinta - castration or bliding? .... :lol in any way our beauty did not leave room nor time for any choice, smart girl :) ....lovely story, what else to say and even glad that we had her, almost similar like English i said - but compare how far Brits went on self promotion around the world and presenting stories cinematically and how far we.... eeee, Barbara.

finally, also in lighter tone did read ladt eveneing more on wiki.... page on Lombards or Langobards (our Latin) "accept" etymology that (beside properly noting Latin/Italian oprigin of word i'm close to or similar of maybe some Germanic root) but it mentions that it might be of "Illirian and Albanian" origin "white river". Line writen by Dr Alban :) ...really and honestly speaking, very stretched out to even include that, personally while no "anti-Alba" bias inthatsense, just scientifically speaking.... clear lingvistical line of Illirian and modern Albanian is not 100% found, but i have no trouble in some "be nice" sense to even accept that Albans and Illirians might be related, in a way like giving "Marcus Aurelius death place" to Austrians if they want any "importance", just being nice and friendly..... lastly, simplified and shortly, as talked it is obvious that Serbo-Croat (esp. Serb ekavian again) have more same forms and words from Latin even pronouncements, directly same as Greeko-Latin.... Much more than Albanian, which i little know, but this is science... "Prokedim" you all :) etc. But OK, if some notion is that Serbs are more similar to Celtic and Latin caste (so conquerors) hence liguistical forms, while Albanians with some Iliirians (Dicletianus is their no trouble), it is alright interpretation to me.... nothing political there, just some notions that Alnbanians want to "gain some fame" on few pages...

went far from our bomb and fire Jaquinta, great story and cinematic :yes just do not take her as "feministic figure" and model, rather Dusciano as one :lol ....btw, btw, little important but one of theories "regarding Normans and us" that Serbs might be some very old, "umbrella tribe" and root of word like "Suebi, Suedi etc etc" so kinds "they knew eachother fo long" some warrior elite etc. Nice like all but little important for concrete histories, which i like and is "cool" how of all tribes first strong alliance in the west (except Italians) was our and Norman....

really digged deeper on it, hard subject :) btw, last joke on subject - unlike some other memebers of our (tribe above all although Dioclea i.e. Zeta was part of Serbia through whole Nemanide period from which they descend) royal family which she ordered beheaded or poisoned, she "castrated etc" her brother in law i.e. should be brother of her late husband :) well, well... great story again, already have nice scenes in head...

anyway where my "detective instincts" for older history come up again and where digged is not that, but whole set of stories including southern Italy of round time... as said never concentrated much time nor efforts on periods predating "Nemanio", but it is miss... namely was interested in who was who really and what were "directlier" ties with Normans and us. So generally I was right - Arhiriz (probably from "greekier" Argyros etc) was indeed popular name in regional Lombards, so son of Lombard noble and leader of uprising against Byzant was named "Argyrus" which is variation on theme, obviously popular among all 3 main players (hence Lombards, Byzantines and Normans... Italians were no more...)) of the time of Jaquinta birth. So Bari was dominantely even Lombard in some time, but could be Norman for reasons mentioned and that he first accepted surrender to them, and continued governorship given by Robert Guiscard and married daughter to Roberts close relative etc etc. not to repeat our stand once Guiscards troops reached Durazzo, and our queen and king position to "let them"....generally tough subject of origin, but wanted to be sure and compare a little. Popular name among Lombards, plus -hiriz ending even more adding to it, but could be Norman indeed for many reasons... but and last, planned with that Robert's nephew uprising against him, hmm-hmm... so yes, most likely Lombard but with enigma, plus daughter finished in Byzant jail, for what she would have no reason if she hadn't been tied with Normans as Lombards uprising would be beneficial for Byzntines etc etc :) you get it

second, both pages on Robert Guiscard (and also later Roger II of Sicily) do not mention Serbs in any line, btw to say but not proof of anything as maybe page creators did not want to mention.... however our direct ties with them are more than mentioned in Byzantine sources, for both figures and "alliance"... so-so :) Can't say anything for sure but of course some obvious things are there, so if lover conclude yourself, other things interesting but almost none for our story..... btw, again for lovers, our kings and esp. emperor Dushan was connected with Bari in few ways, and some story is that he preffered also Normans for personal guard (allegedly often looking for very tall knights due to his size) and allegedly imperial standard bearer (of over 20-30 kgs) leading his coloumn was "Swedish", not really important for what i'm looking for but remembered story etc.

maybe half-Nroman half-bearded ; as well as our alliance with Normans, half-one :) ...interesting is also to extent did it carry some fame to France enabling later desire of Capet or something like official France to tie with us etc. ...could be said that western sources were often "secretive" on direct ties with us, so inability to determine Helen's origin etc ;...maybe intentionally but maybe others lied too much.... on Jaquinta, you might wonder why I ask - preparing great film hitting cinemas near you in summer of 2065 :yes let it be another subject i.e. their origin if eventual Italian researcher or lover, so i have few questions as always ) but gave it up long time ago, but nonetheless since already talked much why not sharing for lovers of themes, maybe you like to read but company always welc

also - maybe to conclude or round truly great subjects i'd of course represent as film about Jaki ; and from our prospective, but are truly great for any medievalist so i'm sorry to maybe round subject at all ) - what is also interesting is longer page (wiki, eng) on battle of Dyrrhachium in 1081, Guiscard versus Alexios, Byzant emperor famous for many things but later ;

99% is from Byzantine sources, must be noted first.... so not as reader, but as "detective" looking at it in light of "how to fit our role" and eventual "only for your ears" with Normans it goes like this... if we accept that description and paragraphs follow some timeline of battle and not just "btw mentions" our king Bodin and army is mentioned in paragraph between i.e. in time when battle started to turn to Norman side, exactly after killing of "Varangian" (almost agreed those were Anglo-Saxons from England, hating Normans etc) unit BUT also after period in which it seemed/described that huge part of Norman line collapsed, so Byzantines were still wining some interpret ;.... (line about Turks "lent to him" is not about Bodin btw, but Alexios)) So if we accept it as some indeed timeline, Bodin and Serbs had chance to join those who looked like victors earlierafter collapse of Norman wing. Further it says that Bodin "stood intending to await the outcome" like it was clearly preplanned ; IDK could be like that as he did not use opportunity when Byzants were winning, important to note moment that would make him "clear" for Byzants, almost like he knew or simply was in previous contact with Normans. Of course, mention all in sense of previous post and Jaki ; ...great one, hard to judge

btw, events are of course important (and why Byzant sources insisted while maybe out of proportions) because it led to later stronger state, stronger identity and almost nation creation and our stands later etc (most important for the world)) but for the rest importance is that (quasi) Alexios had to "pull many troops" from eastern provinces of his empire to counter Normans, which were allegedly then easily been overrun by "Turks", prompting that same Alexios to call in crusade same people he fought and all known, from rise to fall....... but mostly liked for that small but beautiful, cinematic story of Jaquinta, fire of queen... ultimately, did Nromans had some "positive or negative" role for us, seems thati summed it up in last paragraph - stronger state, creation of identity in regions contested with Bulgars etc. but also led to crusades and our involvement, and our direct crushing by Turks.... which doesn't mean maybe that they would not come without Normans :) great stories, hopefully liked my little detective game and any conclusions was alliance real or imagined by Byzantines :) and of course Jaquinta story if we guess that many of you hear it first time - i'm Serb some details are nasty :) but above all i see also strong female character, kinda "warrior queen" as Matilda/Maud that defended some right she to be recognized as ruler after death of king, which was indeed above rules and traditions, plus foreign... Anna D. and Helen are characters of similar type as both succeeded in intent to secure crown for sons, SU I and SU II Miluten, so it was indeed kinda some our trademark of times etc.... don't know who is current president of Normandy region (if we had proven anything about her origin but i tried few stories)) but i'll gladly call him with short question "250 meters?" :) ....and it also showed that indeed huge male like HIM could have been more gentle to own relatives that one small pale Norman princess, a female :) ...but like her, as Serb say Jaquinta was cute ) and some figure with vision )

if missed or unwilling to go back and search this is BTW what i meant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8ikLPJgr00 while you wait for great film, in few minutes so much about Jaquinta almost, isn't it

btw, to tell the story to eventual lovers of our history in those crucial times ; why not maybe someone likes but is not familiar with or finds subject too complex from outside, in a way like complexity of who was Norman, Lombard or Italic etc or some complex dynastic things in Germany or England, why not for lovers because we are in rank with those two :) ...in interesting medieval details :)

so shortly, if we take Bodin and Jaquinta as some decisive times and you wonder, later Rascian or Serbian dynasty of Nemanides i.e. Nemanjich descends also from Bodin's father, Michael.... it was Bodin's brother named "Petrislav" so in all those events and "Jaquinta's personal solutions" on governing positions :) he and his line, already governing Rascia before Bodin's death and having largely separated from Dioclea :) was untouched so they are not involved in any mentioned story of "beheading, poisoning and castration etc", which was fate of other brothers and nephews of Bodin and that Petrislav... already during Bodin life Rascia continued the most energetic fight against Byzantium, Alexios intervened personally in few battles and submitted Rascian rulers. However, most likely that "Vladimir", son of other brother, was some player of Rascia, the one whome Jaquinta used "slow-working poison" on, unable to directly face him :) etc.

so from that "untouched" brother and his two sons in Rascia line developed, from younger brother Marko descends his son Urosh I (who even gave refuge to Jaquinta's son George later, btw) who had most likely Byzantine imperial family (one of)) wife and few sons...however it is speculated if he also had some Hungarian wife... it is also not clear and 100% confirmed (but is accepted) that one of his sons was indeed "Zavida" also called "White Urosh" sometimes, who was in turn father of Stefan Nemanja, starter of Nemanjich dynasty which dominated later political life for 200+ years.... rising possibility for speculations of who was really father (and mother) of that Nemanja's father if you get it all maximally simply said for lovers and how things developed... ta-daa rest is history as they say. as for origin of Nemanja if not that Urosh I as grandad, was it some other princess and pap, maybe not Greek princess, was it implanted element of caved Flavia Felix elite :) etc. since Nemania (use of letter "j" was uncharacteristic for old Serbian) also line of very tall rulers start, culminating with for times indeed huge emperor HIM ;....and so on, hope i gave some understandable picture of their origin with some small mystery and how Rascia became powerful, at short moment even most powerful in SE and from which line they descend... open to questions :)

origin of name "Urosh" BTW is speculated, so nice that i mentioned much earlier ties with Italian lands, legendary, much earlier thanour use, doge Ursus or Orso etc, so equally might be from Italian lands as well as from Hungarian practice and word etc. But worth knowing Italian use, Jaquinta story and all...generally see that even "famous" last name "Lupin" is from Norman use in Italy also, itself from Latin "lupus" sowhy not as chance that "Urosh" from "Ursus" as well, clear...as always hopefully interesting, if short for time and space ;...as always hope somone joins with story or two if lover, nobody bites here.... and Jaquinta is long gone, cutie :) might have had changed history more than she knows by eliminating some pretenders in interest of Rascian line :yes ... :)

IDK, but to say also this for comedy but scientifically.... the more I think about it the more i find some "solutions" really funny and less logical as demonstrated few times.... it seems that both we and Italians used "Hungarian" words much before Hungarians (Magyars) settled around :) first funny thing.... but even that aside, explain to me sounds really funny when stop for moment on unimportant line, as many times when some "linguistical propositions" are mentioned... kinda like it is from Hungarian "ur", sounds like name Vukan is from Chinese-Turkic-etc. "wu" meaning something :) and so on.... animalistic symbols and love much more spread even as late, even after schism :) even in Italy so indeed might be actually true that it is the way we read Latin Ursus, adding to fact that name was "revitalized" for kings by Dandola and later HIM for his son, but present in lower ranks wider and mostly in Serbia adding to more Italian tie than Hungarian as Croatia was directly ruled by Hungary, Bosnia etc. But it remains more or distinctively Serbian name, as was then etc. Besides, Urosh I (now talking Anna's son) and Dushan the HIM were surely more "Italian players" and lovers than directly Hungarian ;) esp. second if you get it :) .....unimportant subject for much time waste, but why not using some checks again, even logic... to me, more likely from some "Urso" reading and Italian name as solution etc.

for humor, also using pure logic even "White Urosh" sounds more logical as "white/polar bear" than "white dominus" what that means :lol ...jokes aside, gravely serious about previous paras, but generally unimportant.... one way or another, could be said that we directly opposed any "Ursini faction" as said before.... for some science and timeline, while Hungary gained some prominence later, centuries of before ties with Byzant and Italian lands should not be disregarded, Venetians that were used to "do things for us" (like freeing Bodin) and all.... but generally we all concluded that such lines regarding lingvistics are always or very often dubious, still laughing at "Serbs use Greek words bre and more from Ottoman" :lol

lastly, seriously.... while whole Jaquinta story and similar times i talked now my new interest - and i told best of all i had to tell for lovers - it is more than obvious that it is so clear matrix how some events and preserved sources are so convinient for "mystery stories" and theories, not at all conspiracy theories ) but great for some serious doubts.... Helen "the French" aside, now in focus is question how is possible that some sources about most important ruler origin are unclear and insufficient, hence who was really father of Nemanja ;) while in the same time more is known about some more obscure princes of no lasting importance... targeted? to mention, after looking at Wiki Eng, it seems that also thirs name for him was in circulation - so Zavida, "White Urosh" and also Stefan in some Dalmatian sources. Interesting to say the least, but that much, hope you gained another lovely story again from Norman queen, Robert Guiscard to creation of Nemanide state and dynasty :yes ...always add, needless to repeat - yes you!

since subjects are more than great, this also... I'm the one not beleiving in much "coincidences" or thigs that developed "by chance" or chaotically back in the days as you, if really patient could find some "link" or probable one in many ties in events etc. so shortly, all things considered and our temporar Norman (and Lombard in big part) alliances or ties do not think at all that some stories of various crusading personalities travelling around and their "adventures" in Serb areas are just based on some "lack of knowledge" or ethnic or even religious reasons, maybe something more refined - but generally do not have time nor public ; here for all details and stories... so indeed maybe some events Peter the Kermit, or Godfrey for example had with Hungarians and Serbs were part of the plan and something intended, in contrast to Raymond "Monocolous" to mention that from above.... similar is story of clash and troubles "Henry" lion of Gwelf had during his travel here in times when our Norman and Lombard "sympathy" was still present, urge to meet with Barbarossa etc. More could be interpreted as some "clans, factions or families" struggles than other, chaotic eventsfor example, but just simplify and you do not want to know all details so just simplified ) ...to use variation of Italian comics joke, i was young then but I told to Fridrih B: "Barbie, if you gonna pass through Rascia you must promise some wives beforehand" etc :) .....generally it seems that some "loyalties" kept themselves for centuries back in times, so my Colonna long lasting example, could be said that also maybe our ties with Normans were "centurial" adding even more to interesting time when "official i.e. Capet" or Frankish France ) took over some possesions both in France but also areas like Sicily as known ; and so on... in that sense i think previous stories are of value for even lovers... guess it is surprise for many that actually Rascian line (with more orthodoxy in state) was the most energetic against Byzant as early, and more "Norman friendly" than some others, giving protection and army to Jaquinta's son trying to reinstall him etc.... speculation is and hence unimportant theory of many that Nemanja's father was indeed from somoene else, maybe even George of Jaki among others if we are to speculate.... he got in conflict with other brothers or half ones and they gave him small land initially, George and Jaquinta once controlled, but things turned and he become starter of most famous line etc etc.

really wanted to mention something else that went "under my radar" before.... Doge of Venice had also (if we disregard theories that marriage was before Constant events) Norman wife in times of organized marriage (in Venice with popmpeous style) of our king and Anna Dandolo, so Pietro Ziani. It was first "noble" (as Italians were all peasants)) wife since some Byzantine for one doge... obviously same man who found it important to marry Anna to Serb royals also looked for other ties for (quasi) republic so this is interesting to know... might be that Serbs and Normans were chosen intentionally and planned to form some still working "triangle" as was known that "they are friendly to eachother" etc etc. Just thinking about, while detail of Pietro's wife is valuable and should not be disregarded, happened few years before "official" (but might be other and earlier) marriage of Anna to our queen, so maybe even Norman "dogoessa" insisted or gave "green light" etc.... hope that Venetians had some sharp knives..... :) but it was republic of course so no need, if even anything about our player and heroine Jaki is 100% true ) ...all lovely, hope you like how i put it, scientifically as always

really lovely stories so beutifully interconnected as well, almost as never in continental history in such way so definitely there was some charm in it and understandable passion some Brit presenters sometimes tell about it, so many unusual alliances and similar, or very usual or predictable indeed, depends how you look at it and understand all... without sarcasm wish sometimes i was there, of course in some pretty safe and thick (but sexy from outside) armor, defending Jaquinta, just winning battles against some Anglo-Sexons with huge axes :) for her and afterwards pointing my bloody lance with flower on top towards her, and similar....) seriously, what i like in era is exactly that to extent, that we almost faced veterans of Hastings (and maybe Stamford bridge)) just few years after, but no need to sweat as Normies did it for us, we just watched the show :) ....there is charm and we medieavalists know very well why loving themes, even if battle is not mentioned at all

mentioning it - excuse me but i forgot and knew only basics of tacticsat place i.e. Norman cavalry vs. Englishmen on foot and have some bad copy of Tapestry from flee-market able to recognize only some dude with arrow sticking from his eye ), Monocolous? etc. but seriously did not know or maybe forgot some seems accepted detail that Normans quasi used something I mentioned and Byzantines obviously did not know as well, so "feinting line collapse" and "fake retreat" to thin opposing line and make them into pursuit, then return..... important moment if indeed accepted by experts as tactics of them, it actually (even though in contrast to my words) fits in our behavior and fits in a way that Jaquinta and Bodin (unlike Alexios again) knew about tactics, so i said it well even if i forgot concrete detail.... so they did not move, knowing that it was fake collapse and retreat, but English fell for it twice in 15 years :) ....no sarcasm, lovely and true - we knew. Great times when fate of kingdom of England in a way, Serbian kingdom and even Byzantine empire was decided and some same people took part in it..... nothing against Sexons of course but since they have some sense of humor, think you also don't mind us just watching your guys suffer ;) and no hard feelings.... of course no humor, grateful to A-S experts for explaining it as tactics thenand if realistic it is super that it happened on far apart corners of continent, and of course i'm glad we had some role in it :yes ...more added to both correct myself (since nobody here talks about) but also to confirm my words thatwe knew indeed ; after reading article on Hastings of which we all knew already this or that..... nice stories.

lovely subjects so allow me more.... it is so convenient for jokes, really endless possibilites if we combine English and our events really great inspiration. So i'm not surprised at all that history of English hooliganism on continental "green fields" is so early and well documented and phenomenon widespread ) ...seriously and scientifically, checked some dates and records in "interpol" of the times (papacy)) and it seems that English hooligans indeed started to move to Byzantium as early as 1066-67 and filling ranks of "elite troops" so checked with some other dates so indeed although Bodin ruled from 1081 in previous events it is possible that he faced English as well as we all (was young but when i think about it....) maybe in Byzantine struggles over Nish, clashes over Kosovo and Macedonian forts and fields, so probably we already faced some "veterans of Hastings and Stamford bridge" in 1072, events that led to Bodin's capture and few years of imprisonment as far as Antioch, sohe knew them, maybe faced them (it was before Alixois and his bigger sources) and generally had "personal motive" to see English suffer in battle ;) Another nice moment for history lovers, to add from our side so even on personal level Bodin maybe had some knowledge of Anglo-Saxon operating around before arrival of Guiscard and Jaquinta... mentioing Antioch as well, meeting between him and Raymond of Toulouse is in that sense also not BTW or dinneras could be said that Bodin had valuable info to Raymond, knowing personally city, fortifications and plans, so could be guessed that it is why meeting was valuable and "brotherly", it is not excluded, as any crusade that some unnamed our nobles joined etc etc.

anyway, see that - what to say it is another mystery as many we have - even foreign historians gave some special attention to origin of Nemanja, omni-present John Fine (sometimes good, sometimes i disagree, but better than Barbara)) even tired to connect directly Vukan I of Rascia (already more powerful than Bodin during his life) with years of Nemanio birth but it missed him for one year 1112 versus alleged 1113 when he was born, but should not be taken as rule, really who knows if anything is true numerically ;... however it is year of George of Jaki took some power in Dioclea in first mandate maybe, so already established and mature man...really not important and mystery remains, but just let's look at dates for lovers as even likes of Fine touched the subject ;.... again indeed great and lovely, Jaquinta presence making it even greater and while surely from our side Miluten and Dushan are "top" and armies they fielded, but this period, Hastings, presence of hooligans :) , Guiscard and Nemanja mystery all makes it super, think worth every word for true likers, comparing and giving further details... not to mention potential for great jokes even with English as "bridge" is mentioned and historical records of their activity and defeats (or our hoolies)) at Nish, Kosovo and shame at Durazzo :) ...but on serious details i think that much, hope added nice things

mentioning John, good old hare ) with indeed some good lines, even unexpectedly good for our (Serb) history where he showed one would say needed objectivism in times when everything was politicized etc. and while indeed we can all say that he made many mystakes by using some "usual interpretations" and lacked further courage togive some freshness or "shock"even XIX medievalists (including British) had, main objection is that many of that western historians looked at through their primary interests of Byzantology (as said their sources couldn't be trusted as all of ours but they wrote alot), and also some "Slavonic studies", Rus lands and similar so they often made some conclusions based on it,not understanding that our history esp. Serbian was delicately, geographicallyand ethnically different so some things now sound "shocking"... Barbara is other case and touched our figure mostly on events I mentioned, not knowing obviously much about him nor his close ties and respect with Sigismund, Pippo or Colonnas but that we talked and is even accepted that Barbara's style was "fairy-tale" one and disregarded sources from other sides, disregarded logic as well etc... John is problem of explained kind, but he indeedly unstereotypically looked atsome our figures, almost denying any wrong doing on HIM's side for example, Miluten almost sniffed some things but still, still far away on many things for reasons mentioned.... really have some hope in newer generations even of foreign British if need be historians to really leave any poitizations and "Slavic studies" (or any other based on racial category) when dealing with our Serbian history of the timesand simply make it cooler... 100% that Italian historians would make some good books without politizations with materialthey had and by filling gaps etc. but they simply so not do that nor anyone takes them as experts it has to be American or Sexon university to quasi sound authoritative on subjects :) ...really be cool and relaxed, for example Sexons and make our history cooler and more independent not on lies at all, but by some proper interpeatations :yes admit that our Jaquinta is almost in rank of great Matilda, that we crushed your "veterans of Stamford bridge" (just imagine killing Norwegian king on game, who inthe world even want to fight Norwegians at all?)) even without moving :) our Italian ties and that Norman wives usually chosen us instead of you..... etc. and so on :) but generally was serious if someone younger reads....

apropos politizations and for really lighter themes and it really brings smile on my face as is generally even unimportant, you canfind lines which almost with shyness talk about Dioclean subjects, putting lines "Byzantine sources called them Serbs" :) and similar out of the mind things... of cours they were Serbs but generally unimportant, today Montenegro is not even geographically similar to Diclea nor Zeta and capitalof both was even city which is in today norther Albania, so how can we even equalize it with Montenegro as it is not today, as it is not Serbia.... but there is the point isn't it so it is funnyin some shyness but I think nobody here even care about that and their "Serb ethnicity" isn't even controversial..... what i like and whatall foreign historians mentioned is that moment - our Rascian line gave protection to Jaki's son, gave him army and reinstalled him, honorably to the max... some say he afterwards even invaded Rascia some do not say that, so did it happen but like the moment, think maximally correct from our Vukan and Marko and "White bears" :) ....get read yourself of small politizations, think there is not controversy there and we can all, both in region and wider (they are mad about my stories in England)) enjoy some great history we had and created, not just Rome but Rascia called quasi Serbia :) :yes ...BTW, Byzantines many use when they want, when they do not they don't called - totally unimportant in discourse of Montenegro btw but saying in contrast to "Sklavinije or Sclavonie etc" called in contemporary work land of Mihailo, hence Bodin's papa, in Latin "Triballorum et Serborum regnorum" or like if i did not use corect declination but close (Byzantines often used Latin titles for works but wrote in Greek below, except Michael 8 Paleolog which was written by our agents in his blood mostly)) so kingdom of Tribalii and Serbii, but generally unimportant, I'm just lover of details and uninterested in any ethnic contests or politiztions, and of very soon great lover of Jaquinta only, even (my heart breaks) a bit forgetin Anna................ hope you get some serious and also comical parts out of this post too and some maybe even instructions to some western historians of future how we could make even more cooler and connective history and maybe more recognition for us in best intention way said, justwith intention to make any Norman wife think twice...... :yes

perfect end :) but do not trust me... really wanted to revolutionarize it a bit but without any lie, and whynot always some great subjects surelly there, so expect if myeye catches....

"problem of Montenegro" is, too say BTW for those interested, for me more pleasant subject than any other and relaxed (but they are very tough people)) is, everyone knows on any side, actually not medieval at all more saying to foreign lovers.... it is moment from modern history when it become (in some auto-ruled meaning) "older than Serbia" and in that sense undeniable as some entity.... really short and as btw line, not even my field of interest, and btw later even people originating from there were crucial in fight to liberate Serbia etc. So i think that even for any hardcore interpretators or cute Montenegro "nationalist" (as well as our) medieval subjects are not nucleus of anything, despite some might mentioning some medieval subjects, almost funny mentioning moment when we crowned Dandola :) etc. But there is no problem there i honestly think and it is relaxed subject... real moment of Montenegro as subject is in modern history as mentioning, predating Serbia as independent etc etc. even boring theme...... btw, humoristically i had some nice slaps to Monetengro talkers in light way, as my last name is something they consider "of Montenegro origin" :) "from Marko" but i always say that moment and Marko the Serb prince "which disappeared" but whose son Urosh is etc. so i like that moment, but of little value to history just personal joke :) ....we don't have some preserved sources in churches and similar due to devastation, nor i ever researched in some deepness, but allegedly our line (from father line) is very old in area of place where dspot Stefan was born, some smaller town in inner Serbia and lived there in medieval times, with possible moves here and there, so hardly directly (in modern sense) from Montenegro.... but like jokes about it - so i joked how it stayed small due to many Vinegian forts, but could be added to repertoir this one also "it stayed small due to Jaquinta being queen" :lol

generally nothing is medieval there in political sense, but obviously our rulers (Montenegro hates, like HIM)) had some delicate awareness about it - not only mentioned example of Marko-Urosh protecting George, but also that there was need to recognize Zeta, make city some capital (albeit under Rascian control) of "young kings" etc etc. not like French who just annexed some lands previously not "Parisian" and saying "I'm France" :) ...or actually as i mentioned, just like France who kept "Angevine" name under Capets :) etc..... you know also what is interesting in some way - some Montenegro researchers do not dislike our attitude as some others "as imperial or this or that", sometimes they dislike it for other resons in medieval discourse - as they felt that mainstream Rascia often gave little attention to those lands, concentrating more on some Macedon etc. so there is trick and twist in how people usually understand things and some dislike not "imperial attitude" of our med kings but almost oppositely - why the flik some our kings made concesions to Ragusa or similar - but really unimportant, fun as many... generally i think i corrected it well - so Bodin and Jaquinta are important moments for our history, full respect :yes if you think that I gave some privilege to Anna and lions of Brankovich family ; - indeed 235 m (in talks but it is going down)) deserving :) ....not so much in modern themes myself, even XIX and i totally transcend and transform mentally in some other era when talking medieval subjects, not so much similar to national subjects, properly...... hence Ireallydo not think that moment when Jaquinta "castrated" your prince is that moment when state was created :) properly said it was XVIII-XIX c so i think we can relax about it.... personally, always say that in light tone think "Zeta" would be much cooler name today in some international way even, but they would always be placed among last by alphabet what is disliked i guess, instead of that "Vinegianism" but unimportant.... anf finally I say - Montenegro is out future! (lands of just some few 100,000 old members) :lol always join some joke, what you think etc...

besides, my Montenegro, "Marko" surely doesn't originate from little state but from Roman god Mars... so if you are to look back to my origin I gave you good guideline and where to look for it, Etruscan, Latin but ultimately divine origin :) ....you little.... :) not claiming anything like Dushan (is it from Montenegro?)) and direct line from Christ, but just from Mars, realistically :)

post out of boredom, because bored.... it seems that expected change will come starting next week (already gave up)) so maybe, it depends on inspiration and time, probably much less posts from me. was alright reading (if realistic not false) thumbs up to all of you who maybe catched something, but really expected some interaction and maybe some likable new detail fom you.... although i studied (never finished) historical disciplines and law (with a lot of history in the beginning) this is all mere hobby to me, but just demonstrated how even "hobbyist" with some knowledge can "put Barbara and Johh in the pocket" :) so to say, with some fresh interpretations, connecting and detcting ; .....for small example (while did not read even close to all) until myself I did not read any work which connected almost every our crucial moment since Miluten with Dandolo dogo, never until myself read a work which connected Colonna's "saltings" with our events, rejected that HIM had the line, Miluten such sex and Stefan d-spot was ever there as he would be served "on plate" to Sigi maybe, etc etc etc. proposals to think about, but first mentioned is fact not "proposal" so generally yes, that family was certain ally of Nemanides through whole period.... it is hobby my real job is action one, i'm in constant, daily touch with foreigners (and even have licence to touch if need be)) so a bit tired of them and xenophobic :) (had them over the top)) and almost "professional deformation" to daily contact and comment foreign ladies - no joke but will never tell as this is not forum about personal things ) ....

in some greater, continental history maybe did not give something revolutionary, as generally "do not talk that much about others" nor i looked too deep.... just small things and steps, how connected Normans and Lombards were with us, how probably Raymond's greater role and capture of Antioch is due to plans Bodin gave him, really small things i instantly sniffed :) (that Louis IX had another daughter is not mine))...... generally like i cleared Sciarrillo "Sara" name and way to his sainthood is open, if pope took my e-mail seriously :) ...as said maybe sometimes, thanks for reading, always open to your story

other aspect or "profi deformation" ) is or could be also relation of some "absolute freedoms or rights"..... for simple fact that people like me are those in society seen as those "preventing everyone to have absolute rights or absolute freedoms" in the name of order ) etc..... but be greateful for every time your relative or maybe even child touches down or make some safe journey or similar, it is becuase of people like us ) .....doesn't matter at all, ready to leave everything on your call my principessa and be just servius in your castle, talkable on my duties even something fresh :)

something else mentioned and maybe some of you heard it for the first time, but as i said Italian archives and sources preserved on various places are precious and unlike else, so something as "exclusive" one Dandolo speaking:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82pHDu74b_g

....of course self-proclaimed :) ....since this touches your interests more than mine, let it be another question as i knew it only as "fun fact" and one line if you ever read anything more, why or better asked based on what he claimed it, just fantasy based on nothing or they actually produced something like story or line? ...of course just BTW question for some principessa from there if ever read, not even much important to me....

like real question however, think it is very important family for us, historically for all talked.... as said too bad they were seen as some "nationalistic symbols" if naming ship, ironclad after Enrico was also in that sense etc etc. Much more complex and delicate, but we talked it enough you have it all above... to repeat however if new - there were 4 of them as Dogos, one known :) (but totally over proportioned, it was mainly French action to end slavery there)) one during Miluten's takover of throne, 3rd during Dushan's takover and 4th, Andrea during our greatest expansion and empire proclamation.... but state of Vinegia was in huge troubles and really pushed on all fronts by Genova, Hungary and nature :) etc. unlike us only briefly invaded by Louis, repeat and short summary of mid XIV c if you missed.......however, one thing - blame Wiki as it has dif dates, there is date on other language pages which says that Sciarrillo died in Venice but year before Francesco took office, so absolutely not my fault they "printed" wrong dates on few places, for what it matters as subject as all - maybe only to extent did Dandolo family supported Colonna one in Italy etc. "Anna Dandolo" still remains great name for space battlecruiser, but "Jaquinta" deserves it as well, so we have really nice and diverse name candidates for galactic showdown ;..... to repeat, there was that unimportant and btw question if you read ever some text, had few of them, mostly found some answers, on this will not search much so amybe you heard.... or to call Alessandra, often on Ital state TV :) that much.
