Axis at War (by Puma), with Base efile, PG2 1.02G exe, completed in May'2003
I never played this campaign and even any other with Base equipment before. It may be interesting but I’m afraid that 47 scenarios long campaign can take 2 or 3 month – I haven’t too much time for playing nowadays.
1. Madrid
Purchased: 3x Pz IID, R1 (recon), 3x Fallschirm,
This scenario is not very different comparing to standard Blitz.
Enemy airforce was not superior and my fighter with Dev Fire 88mm FlaK easily deal with them. Unfortunately I quickly lost my core recon – it was overrun by BT-5 tank. I quickly bought new one - together with bunch of Pz IIs. During hard battle around VH with AT-bunker one little tank was blown out. Excepting these two loses ground forces advanced without special troubles and captured all flags – leaving only Guadalajara VH for my expanded airborne contingent. My airlines transported 3 groups of passengers directly to airport next to Guadalajara and another 3 groups landed a little north from that place. Six units around - it was too much for defenders and Fallschirm had easy job to do. One of these units won Alpine training. Now it’s almost Commando like unit - having PM ability.
It’s interesting to play without cap for a change – you don’t care if lose core unit and always can afford some new one without punishment. The only source of prestige is flags capturing (180° different philosophy - comparing to the Stevology).

2. Mogucha
Sold: 15 sFH 18 (Truck), R1 (Recon), SdKfz 10/4.
Purchased: 2x 10.5cmK18 (Truck), 2x PSW 231.
Upgraded: None.
Seeing that cap is completely not in use I decided to change my army composition and did some rearmament before this battle.
I decided to play slowly and safety - trying to avoid loses. This tactic worked fine and I didn’t lose any of my units, but Japan auxiliaries were not so lucky.
Four Fallschirm units flew along south edge of map and landed in its southeastern corner. They captured both VHs in this area.
First group of auxiliaries attacked from the southwestern capturing airfield VH and next directed north to Tankograd. Second auxiliary group that attacked from the northwestern captured northernmost VH and later directed south successfully battling for Mogucha. This group finally took the city.
Main German forces I sent on the south and next along the river to Tankograd. They captured it and second VH on the east - together with first group of Japanese.
Those big Russian guns were annoying, but I destroyed only one of them and left remaining two in peace.
Result: BV (Last turn) – proto: Pz IIIF.

Easiest round so far. All the things went pretty well without surprises and I didn’t loose any of my troops – even auxiliary. Standard SSI Ciechanow is more difficult.
