Merry Christmas to all of you generals
The Open General Team wishes you all a Merry Christmas, despite the restrictions imposed by the covid-19 and the memory of those affected by this horrible pandemic, which will undoubtedly remain etched in our memory for a long time
But also with the hope that throughout the next year the contagions will be contained and we can return, even slowly, to our normal life.
Hopefully, the covid gives us a truce like that of the football game in the WW1

Merry Christmas to all. Thank you for keeping this game alive and providing many happy gaming moments during these hard times. Hoping for many more campaigns, maps, icons and OpenGeneral updates the coming year.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
I do also wished that covid would give me a truce. Unfortunately, it was not to be. I will spend the Christmas and the New Years Eve along with my wife and daughter, but isolated. I caught the nasty invertebrate past week and passed it on to my wife.
Luckily, is the mild version and even more lucky, I seemed to have not passed it on to my parents whom we visited past week-end...

get well to you - I use it to wish happy new year in advance. since Luis mentioned football, one of the few positives is that top of the table looks more interesting in major leagues this turn of the year... personally after circa 30 to me every holiday is more a warning of how time flies than some fiesta - birthdays (tomorrow you celebrate one famuos birthday) and new years esp
wish for Luis is more memebers and interest for his tools
...and not excursionists like me, but devoted ones
about dates - Caesar forever, do not care much but remembering him is nice thing in times when Romans are usually bad guys on TV

...sooo - historical notification - today is julian calendar 25th december... out of use in many places for centuries, plus it lost its religious background
i don't care about political and religiuos conotations of divide (greetings to those marking it!) and when i was younger i was more interested to say how church should follow civil calendar but...
evaluation and fun, with dose of humor (and personal tie to Romans) must say now i think it is nice tradition to keep it and remember state which is around us everyday, we all use their words, letters, building types etc. etc. everyday so having Caesar present (at least in name calendar) is something nice, paradoxically in few churches wich do not use Latin letters as official, but however other churches secretly kept Roman names of months (except Croats) so do not pretend too much how you are superior Mr Pope
nonetheless, one of few cases where i support their "ratio" and gives "ancient schmeck" to them, while it is good that civilian life uses other one
being "sui iuris" and specific is alright if you can mix things properly and personal "schmeck" and church is separated from civilian life )
