Just discovered and for information only: Two of the most famous and leading German PC magazines offer the current version of Open General as a download link.
The pages contain a short review and a short description.
I did not check the links.

Computer Bild (one of the biggest german computer news sites) offers Open General for many years now. And surprisingly they are always up to date with the version number. I don't know if there is a person checking the games from time to time or if this is done automatically. There is also a link to Luis' site.
Computer Bild has a large collection of free games of which many are are fan-made or open source and stuff like that. Same can be said for Chip.de.
Chip.de even links to the new Open General homepage.
Downloads counts 10.500 at Computer Bild and 3.700 at Chip.de.

it's good that gamer sites / journals promote opengen for their wider audience, otoh it's so sad that these sites completely ignore that Luis explicetly forbade hosting the installer on other sites
maybe we should warn them that the installer contains many, many swastikas
of course, several american sites "re-hosting" the game wouldn't be frightened

Both sites are very popular in Germany and offer hundreds of free games amongst a truckload of other downloads. I guess they grab everything they can.
warning them about the swastikas would be the safest and fastet way to make them delete the links.
But i must admit, if i remember correctly, i found out about the existence of OG at the Computer Bild website 6 or 7 years ago...
