:howdy
thought i`d actually try and finish a cc
started this years ago on old computer going again
overwrote early scenarios (rusty getting into swing again)
Belmont BV
Attacked in 3 direction pushing forward towards the vh`s using the lancers to the upmost of their capabilities finishing off as many enemy units as possible with my cavalry
core at end before BV

Modder River V
Well this was tough
restarted twice as deployment and forces where not right
sold the Yeomanry and popgun disguising itself as an arty
bought a horsy arty and another popgun but with an extra soft target point
all fast mobile units went straight up the left hand side towards the vh`s
the slow units with 2 recons west towards Bridgehead
a long brutal slow slog followed when obvious BV had passed just went for more experiance

Spilt forces into 2 roughly equal forces and using auxes as suppressors/cannon fodder
circled around to attack vh`s from behind last turn and ditch bv

Diamond Hill BV
Purchased another life guard
same as before auxes went south to vh then east
northern auxes crossed bridge and joined some core to attack Diamond Hill
rest of core went east using cavalry to spot defences so could bypass serious obstacles to attack the 2 central vh`s
then fanned out north and south to mop up
last turn BV

Who is responsible for the new design of the AARs? It's terribly confusing :no !

The problem is obviously the formatting of the table. Sympatyk solved this well in the Polish forum after I criticized the view of the AAR there.

Now you can understand the desired information given for each core unit.

I played Magersfrontein last night. Also a difficult scenario. But the turn limit for BV is really good so far and there is always a chance to make it to the last turn somehow.

On Modder River I also failed at BV, just like you, and only got a normal win. This was mainly due to my opponent's stacked units. I reject this design and have rage in my stomach when it is used :irate .

Sold a cavalry to buy an arty needed extra firepwer
dropped back and let Germans come to me kept doing this and picking them off
only problem attacked back 1/2 turns too late
killed desired number in BV+1 :(
Looked at that link still don`t understand :dunno

At the Aisne: The first trenches BV
Restarted after a total poor deployment and good hiding off the enemy
went up the west side of the canal with my arty at the front nearer my cavalry who scouted and hit and run
finished off with guards
this way leapfrogging my way up managed to keep arty mostly supplied
last turn BV

Hohenzollern Redoubt BV
Majority of core defended the central vh
from the sh deployed a cavalry, lancer, machine gun and sapper with sole intention of going up the road and swinging round to attack
the enemy vh
the core in the centre coped with the German attacks quite easily breaking out to recapture the lost vh`s
also helping the eastern forces in their attacks

sold the aa money went towards another sapper and an assault infantry
5 units arty.sapper,tank,lancer and an mg attacked and retreated the northern vh helped by battery support

Cambrai: the offensive BV
This mud fight i found easier than previous scenarios
basically most heavy equipment started in the south and swung around in a big half circle taking the vh`s
biggest threat was the enemy air force

:eek What happened to the mud?
mobile units where placed north of the river
slower units with 1 lancer south to retake Arras and push back the strong enemy force there
the more mobile units probed and broke through taking Lens then crossing the canal towards the 2 vh`s
and pushing south to join the plodders
had to repair a few units during play

Last scenario/hurrah
decided to go all out to smash the hun
whatever pp received went on repairs to my army
still lost a few troops still
glad to of finished a cc again after eons
in the true spirit of cc`s i kept comparing my core & run to Dougs
