47 The Soviets Strike Back ltbv

The Soviets have decommissioned their T-34 standard tanks and only assembled the best tanks from IS-3 and newer. I'm also facing German Wehrmacht units with Tiger II, Tiger III, Panther II, Maus, E-100 etc. and I don't feel comfortable in my Panther A.
Nevertheless, I manage to stop the enemy attack and quickly launch a counter-offensive.
About 4 or 5 turns before BV, victory would have been possible, but I continued to play as usual. The enemy presented reinforcements in the form of several E-100s, the latest Range-4 SPATY and Maus 88mm Flak - all very expensive.

I finished my "fun" campaign at the beginning of February 2024. It was not intended for inclusion in the obligatory "Scroll of Honor", because I massively tweaked the settings for the individual units per suite. The main differences to the standard game were that I allowed myself 200% prestige (instead of 100%), fixed the overstrength of my units according to the experience level they had gained (up to 30/30) and manipulated the leaders a little. In return, the AI received 300% prestige (instead of 25%).
I tried to limit my unit purchases (in the end there were 11 less than in my last game) and not to push the unit upgrades to the limit. On the tank side, I made relatively good progress with Panther A and Tiger II. For the AT, I suspended the last upgrade to 1945 models. The artillery still had cannons and mortars that only had a range of 3 and 4 and the fighters were, with a few exceptions, only upgraded to standard variants.

The campaign remained exciting at the beginning because the superiority in strength first had to develop. However, as the game progressed, a glorious victory was always possible before the limit of 4 to 6 rounds. Playing the scenarios to the end was purely statistical - I massively improved my kill-loss ratio. The AI really had a lot of money with the 300% prestige and not only sent cheap INF or AT as reinforcements to the VH/SH-Hex, but also came up with the latest technology. But that was of absolutely no use if these units had 0 experience. In comparison with my last game (kill: 4,485 / loss: 306), I was able to shift the ratio permanently: 5,837 kills to 219 losses.

Overall, it was a more relaxed game for me. However, the fun factor was limited because a lot of work was required with the suite. Nevertheless, I would describe the experiment as a success.
