I don't know if we understand each other well..
I will present the problem once again using the example of only one map creator (selected Gustlik maps - not all)
We are now talking about maps made for PG2 (8-bit colors, indexed) --> mandatory png file, and .map file, and txt with names
You can see it in the screenshot (combined drawing for several maps)
- most maps do not have a .map file --> number 695, 700 (has a mapx file), 701, 702 (has a mapx file), 703, 704, 705, 867, 938, and others not shown here
- most maps do not have a png file --> number 695, 700, 701, 702, 703, 704, 705, and others not shown
Maps 942 and 952 are correct
Was the removal of png files from these (and other) maps conscious/intentional? - we are talking about maps made during PG2
Of course, the lack of . map files is a mistake
Other map creators have the same (some less, others more) - the scale of the problem is large
