...and it was sacked, Canosa di Puglia, allegedly by Napoleon ; ...old Orsini faction member at work even there :) Ok, bit exaggerating now for effect (there is something about him, in that no doubt) in sense of looking for some evidence - but nonetheless interesting why would Nap sack exactly that small town in there and to say right away it was before he we contacted him... or was he just sacking many Italian small cities for trophies :)

Anyway forget that and i'm not bacause of that here, let that small enigma about Honorius III be another quest for eventual Italian lovers, in one compact thread with some other i raised to them.... noticed of course on his page some newer doubt by Italian authors (which i like) if Cencio was really Savelli, really didn't read any of few works in Italian (but would more than like) and what is based on so maybe you can help, no expectation of course, this is place with very few technical minded persons, but we had many history lovers before so i in that name, OG deals with a lot of eras so expectation is that history is liked.... ;) anyway, lack of last name surely not only thing as, for example, our rulers and figures never wrote last names so must be more :) ...To say how blind was i as his page has something I mentioned and i never connected as simple thing - so his pap was Aimerico (haha right in front of my nose) which is obvious non-ekavian Latin use of name and Ai is E so Emerico, simple but not connected before :) BUT regarding those doubts by some Italian authors (again not knowing based on what so help needed always) what i notice is exactly that - Savellis are old Romans and "Aimerico" is used, strange to extent even if probably minor and vulgarized, should be as said Emerico..... anyway, what makes me more certain that he was Savelli is not just papal name of other Savelli, Hon IV, but as i put also possible thing that turned us - Savelli supporters - to French, as well as them in few decades and incited Annas son and our king to marry French and only theoretically Capet princess and to make new alliance with Charles Anjou etc etc... so if you followed, not me to waste words, traditionally ghibelline, we and some Roman families (and even Dandolos etc etc but not important here) turned to other side - so as i see it in our case only reason was because Cencio was Savelli and we in coalition or some support of family ;) ....but support every reasonable doubts by Ital authors if based on really good details like i noticed strange name writing of his father for old Roman while our northern "granpa in law" was Enrico etc. ;) but also minor to extent......of course very interested as he is in top of 5 fav foreign figures for me etc, so again quest is if lover, what is based on, some story.... repeat last names were not writen but for me to say for example that SU IV wasn't of Nemanide family just as last name is not there in docs is funny, must be more so what they say.... :)

medieval subjects and era are really for curious minds and those able to see further, but as demonstarate to at least look at it, any diploma is not needed, so i say again if even fan - what your instincts or looks are etc
