GER vs. BRA - Women's Bronze | 4* Cancun 2021 #1
The first set in particular was epic. Normally the set ends at 21 point ...
Both teams showed a high quality in their sideout. This is very demanding given these wind and temperature conditions

...one sporting news from me - would be funny if we weren't generally sad country and society in last 1500 years after leaving Greater Scythia and Sarmatia ;
so news is that first ever Japanese footballer to sign and play for club i.e. Partizan fc in history run away from club few days (after 2019 arrival) ago and sent message from Japan (reportedly) today that he annulles the contract and doesn't wan't to play for club anymore, simply sad
he was brought from Arsenal (where he never played anything) and was ironically a club's (PFC) top scorer this season, still not ended, and club hoped to get some money for selling him
.... unpaid wages and other obligations were his reasons for leaving etc. as stated in message....
so this maiden story with first Japanese player did not end well, but we are used to it - Matthäus after some success with club run away, Italian basket coach (now in Bayern FC - basketball club with FC in it) Trinchieri run away from half contract - but after corona ended season at least
and now first Japanese ever after "successful" season.... but lets laugh about it, nothing serious about it all and us, even in sport sense anymore... doubt club will ever get close to any international trophies again so i often laugh with foreigners saying that club played in "CL final" in 1966 with Real and that's it, enough
....btw, even that guy who reportedly contacted Arsene Wenger for a job is not FA head anymore... wasn't good enough for the job... said with not small euphemism in a way to picture events. but who cares, news should be fun to read and didn't post much recently except BL results ;

The German women's volleyball league is over. In a dramatic final series (Best of Five), the team from the Saxon state capital (Dresdner SC) defeated the defending champion MTV Allianz Stuttgart in five games. Stuttgart were already leading 2-0 in the series, but Dresden came back and won 3 games in a row
. For Dresdner SC it is the 6th championship title in their history.
I would have been there as a spectator in Dresden, but Corona made it impossible
.
Dresden - Stuttgart 0:3
Stuttgart - Dresden 3:2
Dresden - Stuttgart 3:2
Stuttgart - Dresden 2:3
Dresden - Stuttgart 3:0

A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano and
Zaksa Azoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle are the best teams in Europe. The women from Italy and the men from Poland decided the Super Finals of the CEV Champions League in Verona (Italy) in their favor and are therefore the queens and kings of Europe in the 2020/21 season. It is the first Champions League title for both clubs.
A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO vs. VakifBank ISTANBUL - Highlights
Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN KOŹLE vs. TRENTINO Itas - Highlights
... and we have a new World Champion in Snooker:
Mark Selby vs Shaun Murphy - LAST FINAL FRAME - Snooker World Championship 2021 Final

...mostly commented in Bundes-thread but i'll share this here, probably funniest moment of generally crazy weekend with lots of laughs for those who missed it...
i wasn't alone when tv was on and it provoked explosion of laugh and disbelief when happened, like mostly for all liking game still ; ...man's first and only time to go in oponent's 16 and instant scoring, something strikers and others to learn from
...if Liverpool end in first 4 certain hero of the season
was a crazy weekend, if one watched Juventus-Inter game that alone was enough for laughs - though i'm last one to go against Agnelli's and Juventus, as they are a) our domestic industrials as long as branch operates here
and b) club colors of "my club" are from them as said, both old Agnelli's in person and Juventus as club... this goal in England was cream, but also some details in Spain, France etc. weekend of football laughs so i share emotion for goodnight

this is funny so i share for the end, take it as something for laughs...
so - first seriously and in relation to my previous post about Italian league - as long as football will be played there will be shadow of irregularities, fixing and theories, most of them for laugh like this i'll say below... and with all money around, even more fuel for that. My joke about mister Agnelli is just that and has nothing to do with Italians only, various presidents and owners are around in many leagues and last round even in France and Lyon
shows it's just sport and often unpredictable...
back to funny story - today, before start of any last round matches in England and Italy, some fellow says something like: Leicester will lose today - why? - because Chelsea sold them cup final recently under deal that they let them win league game and to lose in last round if need be i.e. if Chelsea is losing last game too, to let them advance to CL
... from same man too - Napoli will not win today - why? - because Atalanta will let Milan win and Juventus must advance to CL i.e. Napoli must drop points
... it was all joke and fun, but really funny part is that all played out just like that joker "described" even in his funny style
... but it is all sport and happens everywhere ;
other sports - i'm watching a bit of NBA with one eye now... it's one of few/only American sports I sometimes look at since 90s, though it's also "too turn-based" for me due to all pauses.... but not following that much as when i was younger, with respect to James, i see Lakers suck nowdays compared to then
anyway and nonetheless, think football story and last round was really funny so i put guy's joke here, he joked but it happened just like, worth sharing

Gentlemen and kamaraden on the forum and gaming hobby!
A completely simple and specific sports question to help me with historical modeling and determining the correct MVT parameter for WWII infantry:
How many kilometers did you max out in a day, at what age was that record made, with what load, and how did you feel after completing that distance?
To begin the discussion about my experience:
16 years old, 42 kilometers on rough terrain (rough terrain, forests, mud roads, rainly), 15 kilograms load. Huge calluses on our feet after, we were almost alive at the end of the route. But for another 2-3 hours after the route we were able to move: to make a fire, cook food.
I'm almost 50 now, and if I walked half the distance with the same weight, I'd probably turn into atoms the next day.
No one is going to criticize or praise anyone here. That is not the point of the post. I need practical statistics, preferably with details.

apropos your question - can't help - but you should fitness stats of top tennis players .... namely i started watching one match more than hour before i switched to one football match which ended in the meantime and now i'm switching back to same tennis match, which is far from over
well i said here before that tennis is very tough sport, especially if rivals are trying to kill eachother on the field which is only fair to solve it
(Nadal & Đolo))
btw, congrats to Italy, that's football i checked, see them far this time
mainly due to Mancini - one of most normal and intelligent players I remember back then and is decent coach, should be....
finally, a word about NBA - followed more compared to last approax 10 years - too bad many teams too often make big score difference early in the given games and interesting match finish is sadly absent... seen only few games with really interesting last minute of the game... anyway, generally not bad plays there in playoffs so far and this night might be interesting to watch as 2 teams with our players are on. luckily, no need to get early tomorrow so we'll see how far i get
considering predictions Durant is "doctor" of the game still, even when game is bad... i'd like Atlanta to surprise, but hardly
Young interesting, Mitchell from Utah also relatively new names for me and good plays... have fun.

.... i mean last time i was able to watch own representation 21 years ago on Euro... we ended in group stage with 7:7 goal difference and another 6 recieved and 1 scored in final knockout match. those were the days
anyhow, congrats to all collecting points this way if successful and result is most important, but anti-football through many matches... glad Neverland is back to watch - best game - and hope "superpowers" will be at least fun for 15 mins (!) tonight....
NBA - congrats to Atlanta, to the finals now
one addition, suddenly LA Clippers look as most versatile or nicely composed team, Leonard and (Kara)) George top players with all sort of solutions from all sort of positions, plus support from others - like them should be superb next 2-3 matches
... since i mentioned Durant recently, it seems he is only one left in his team
who would expect, but doubt he will score 60 points, or maybe.... ;
be wise, hope it helps and have fun.

....Italy will win the stuff, Switzerland will end 4th in group after losing to Turkey, eager to defeat someone... enough help from me on that group
ah flick must say, now Leonard is out of team for Clipps - there goes my hope of "superb" match tonight
vis major, hope for fast return... who doesn't follow i gave proper info about less than 60 for Durant... but he came close
49, nice match and great performance - only one able to lead team (my opinion) towards victory from defeat, unlike - with respect to all 5 - five guys chosen into best team of the season
... they threw in Harden aka bin Harden (internal joke he doesn't mind) as distraction, though... he was just that - distraction
enough sporting news and valuable hints for today from me, have fun... of course, use moment of boredom to comment on sports, do not expect daily reports and hints just disappointed about loss of key player in key moment ;

Oh, Atlanta I hear you calling
I'm coming back to you one fine day
No need to worry, There ain't no hurry cause I'm
On my way back to Georgia la-la-la... (Gruzija?)
...la-la-la... You must have heard them saying
We're gonna rip 'em up and light up the night
some old song
...they are so going to lose tonight, but here is hope for 14-15 more games with them from me and winning the league
on football stage, joking, was interesting yesterday how "first full stadium after more than year" and of course Danish fans bombarded Belgian goalkeeper with plastic beer cups
guess that's what players missed the most
...have fun i'll check NBA tonight... some fast prediction is both games tied at 3-3, but....

... stubbornness - along with hypocrisy, but that's another story
- are most widespread and most of all bad characteristics we humanoids have... this story is fun as many so i share
so there is one person i know, passionate about sport betting and following all kind of sports etc. etc. no idea how much he is putting in those things and no idea about his economics, it's his family problem
I'm btw not good at it and play only sometimes and only for small money, never "invested" much but never won much either (depends what's much for someone).... anyway, back to story - few days ago I said to him, just like i said here, how I started to follow and watch more NBA than last maybe 10 years... so I also said that Clippers look "verstile" or able, in short. Today he told me he lost expecting Utah win last night, but Clippers without main player kicked them out after great turnover though
.....
I told that's because you didn't listen to me
and so, i told him i played Mitchell plus points and it happened.
since i watched decent amount of games i'll say - as warning though expecting good game from Brooklyn - that in last 3-4 games Milwaukee looked as better team, constantly in lead
injuries aside. have fun (Brooklyn should win) and i'm out until something fun to comment....

mentioning basketball - actually i post beacuse it is fun to poke some people now - Atlanta is in the finals of the NBA east, as I hinted and expected
...........
i see people starting to ask me for advices now, so no troubles
- they are not without chances at all as Milwaukee (my idea) will depend a lot on form and performance of Middleton. they went past team, Philadelphia, with "similar" strong-central figure in Embid, so surely shouldn't be just considered as much weaker side here as bookmakers consider Clippers now, because Suns main sharpshooter Booker slept and rested a lot past week and had great night once
.... have fun, around game 4 in both ties we will know much more..... really.
...it is fun to talk as i didn't even know some names until month ago.... something funny for the end - there is show with old players Barkley, O'Neal etc. etc. (younger people even don't know who they are)) and they had good joke recently in line of being unable to remember last names of our players so they said something like "one of the -viches" as most common last name finish here.... then someone added something like "in those countries they are all sons of viches"
i'm too nice to respond, only Harden (undersevedly) recieved a poke.... btw, our Vich in Atalanta, to finish with that, is with current form good player for under or "-" or to avoid if one likes that, but could be better if he scores a few 3s...

....oh, my dear was it worth to be up in such hour just to see that
Atlanta showed two faces like Jekyll and Hyde and was near to - 50 in second game ; people on forums say Young this and that, but withour him they wouldn't even be here and is still young... was wrong so far about K. Middleton he was average, Holiday is the one with softer hand, main support. Though Middleton had FG % up from less than 30 to around 50 in second game
hopefully Atlanta will resist for fun (and win), there should be no more of that thing if for no other thing, because of those hoping for nice game in far away time zones ;
anyhow, another weekend night and true chance to enjoy some basket with Clipps aiming 2-2 and Suns with 3 main stars on. George and Jacks should pour in, Paul and Booker miss again
... nothing against them, but at 2-2 against Utah i said Clippers will play grand final (Leonard was on then, though)
a word about football - Austria is not so bad, but if Italy do not win this i know nothing about it... have fun, i have no special favs, personally and only that Italy, France & Holland, maybe Sweden look more certain in this round
Re: Sports Thread

i said i'll comment only if something is funny - to me that would be my "more certain" teams in football 1/8 finals... none was win (Sweden won't either) so good laugh. but Italy is on the way to final, for my honor but i finish my coverage here because i know nothing about it.
generally i'm more basket man recently, gave lots of useful tips there, thanks
after 2 misses Middleton finally exploded
etc. etc..... i didn't plan to but now i'm thinking about staying up because it might be last time i see my hero George in action long way until 2022 playoffs, most likely i will try only for that reason (after watching them too much in few weeks - secretly during the night often
- somehow you tie yourself with guys)... nonetheless i'm still sure we will watch Atlanta-Clippers final
have fun, man to fear (beside George) is surely Ayton lately. go Clipps, just for fun and longer series....

quick update and last one..... so it is Phoenix-Milwaukee finals after all, who would say ; Middleton was, btw, with 23.6 points per game top scorer for Bucks in 6 games series - as i said before it, a lot will depend on him, i rule
Btw 2, Phoenix will win it and honestly Paul deserves it, both top player and funny on field if involved in "provocations" with opposing players
hope he explodes in the final games, i'll try him....
have fun, with this i finish coverage of this sport summer for all of you, personally was fun experience after long pause and advices were free gift hopefully... )

Ale,
thank you for your information about the NBA.
The last 15 - 20 years I didn't follow the NBA season anymore because German TV didn't broadcast them or they were only viewable on pay TV. The first memories of the Suns are connected with Charles Barkley, later with Sam Casell, Jason Kidd and Steve Nash. Last memories then were of players like Amar'e Stoudemire. Then the connection broke.
For the current Finals, I don't have a favorite. If the Suns win, that's OK - so far they are without a championship title. The Bucks were already champions once in 1971.
Much more important for me this weekend was that the German national basketball team won the qualification for the Olympic Games (participating for the first time since 2008).

yeah, thanks for mentioning, so i'm not only one knowing something about basketball...
to round it - of course i had to watch after watching many games over last 2 months or less and watched at least one quarter of all final games live, because there was realistic "fear" that i could miss last game of the season ; ... so i'm all f@#$%ed up today
must say i did not see them as winners though many had after kicking out Brooklyn... from previous posts it is obvious that in one moment i tipped Clippers (even without Leonard) as possible winners. Expected Atlanta to kick them out in series of freaky twists and results because they "gained momentum", Atlanta was my "most sympatic" team but hardly winners... in finals Phoenix etc.
anyhow, since you mentioned him Ante the Greek
(there is a lot of sun in the country)) - i'd take him in my national team, btw - was spectacular in some moments although again maybe it is visible that i like players like George, Paul, Leonard, Young, Middleton if you know what i mean. Paul was across the point limit last night, sorry for him the most - probably best skilled player in the finals, imo. Booker deserves few slaps over face
there is something in his look calling for it - but seriously good player and i'm sure it's just the looks, he is fine guy otherwise
.... back to Ante - i'll use sentence i picked on some US site - sometimes his moves look like optical illusion, one would say he wouldn't be able to reach the target from there but suddenly he is... and so on, but his style is prone to offensive fouls, sometimes judges just tolerate him. nonetheless, good player in summary, probably person too, regardless of one's preferences for other types, like those i mentioned...
since here, who doesn't follow Italy has won in football
i'm so good isn't it funny... enjoyed so called best basket after some years though expected Cris Paul (he is fine guy in many ways and have sexy black wife, real and on the ground fellow)) to lift the trophy and will miss last game that should have been played... congrats to all eventual fans of Bucks, respect to Ante worthy of MVP... some comments are in my style ; have fun until something new to comment, Para and all

....so Olympics are over mostly, two stories in my style. Did i say that our king was allegedly only ruler on first games (we later killed him anyway)) so we care about that tradition. Anyway, our men waterpolo team made it to the finals - expectations met of whole games
we expected nothing else, except maybe men tennis medal but tennis is "sport of the moment" so no trouble, while waterpolo is eternal... maybe expected men basket to be there, but Italy kicked us and later won gold, or... not really but seing form of some teams, even better that our team wasn't there.
speaking of basket second story, female basket team wasn't able to reach finals, stopped by the USA. Best player against Americans was our black-American Ivona, well done girl - she even sings Serb medieval anthem without knowing Serbian
cute story, sympatic, cute, sexy girl - to me most important moments in otherwise not so interesting games (at least fun game in waterpolo versus Spain was in the afternoon). Congrats to all others and medal winners and those still contesting, have fun Para & all.

must admit i do not follow women sports that much (at all)) with due respect, so she was new thing for me was informed that Yvonna's father is a "name with some weight" in lower level of US basketball world, indeed at least in wikipedia he has longer page than many figures of other "branches"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Ande ... asketball) well done pops, hope little one do another 10 years at least but even one gold in premiere is more than enough
one can argue about "fairness" of such practice (too bad Paul George played for the US before, we would conscript him) but Ivon is my queen
btw, she didn't take medal this time, but was best in game for bronze, enough and more - with 3 like her will would rule. Bravo Ivon, again
it is not done for money, double respect she did all that...
to the main story today so fun... usually sit with folk or 2 few hours on sunday. Sometimes some online bet if there is something fun... So French football league started, with Lille in action today against Metz, unimportant game... for fun, there is game about goal scorers and i said Burak Yilmaz to score, not so unexpected per se. However nothing, nothing and in 96. minute he takes the ball on some 30-40 m, through the legs of some defender, storms towards goal passing another and scores
Burak football legend. Greatest Turk ever and better than any Messi or Neymar
those are undescribable laughs, legend, my hero
have fun i had my laughs for today.... even doubted logic for his move to Lille, so sorry legend.

...for a small and unspectacular (euphemism baby)) country we are privilleged and proud to have a pretty diverse and strange group of citizens, from a SS officer - Raplh Fiennes
- to Adriana Lima (she burnt it temporarily)) and many more... king Leonidas (Gerard Butler) sadly died at Thermopylae just when his papers were ready... and so on, there are others famous. (Xerxes also had dual)
anyway - while i like good laugh and satire - using Para's example to present some feminine sports, i'll keep it about sports... still think about her, even retroactively watched fem Eurocup final in which she was best scorer (and arguably player) for losing side, few highlights of her moves for those interested but uninformed, like silly me... from "shine to dispair" in few seconds as we say as she scored last point but later faul was called on her (bah...) and, although unimportant by then, she hit herself in leg with the ball before able to shoot in last second... Really hope this story will last longer and she doesn't retire anytime soon, there is something "Chris Paulian" watching her
(and later becomes our first lady/queen) .... always remember - Australia/Turkey/Greece etc. etc. wanted her but she said "Can't do it, I love my country" and we called, she said "yes, of course"
as said I'm always satirical, will finish about her with this, she inspires one cute medieval character in my short stories now btw - again hope for many more years, love from me and super hairstyle
do look at it if you know/like the game... we had such practice before, no controversies at all, so Ivon fit naturally, our doll, and only question is on her and how long will body allow to be part of our team... have fun.

lets kick the bottle down the ghostly road a bit more, do not use any social (and right wing too)) media so I'm doing it here in open general forum, including love letters ) ...we don't have much traffic anyway so no trouble.
they say it is often more important to look at what one says to foreign media than domestic (she is now domestic) so I found exclusive news and first report to Italian site from home, have a good rest and enjoy.
https://www.basketinside.com/siamo-donn ... a-insieme/ it is easy translatable, but if one doesn't have time and can't handle Italian, i'll say for country and the world that I (now big fan) was interested if she will say anything about future and how she characterizes past few months. It was mentioned in a sentence, very neutral in nature about future - of course health above all ; - but she "liked the experience, was wonderful but demanding" because of conditions and calendar she had... expected "can't wait to repeat it" but it goes by itself
maybe now i'm forcing it as subject for fun, as said it is all goodwill and body condition once next competition comes, now nobody thinks about it and club is only subject ; ...do hug her for me, Italians. I now have fav female foreign club - it is Venezia (Venice) - so great and symbolic, first queen was from there, current is there
... not about sports, but related. not talking to forum members, as seen from previous posts about other things, i try to be informative and "educate" a bit, try to tell people not to be fanatical, while we all have opinions including me, sometimes not PC nor likable to all as well - the way I see it, sometimes properly sometimes maybe i miss the point or don't have enough info to conclude... so, why saying? because it stinks when i've seen few years ago some poster from Britain trying to politicize, without any joke and without smile, in concrete Ralph Fiennes citizenship, while it had no political background. Since there, most of comments were like joke or fun, but sometimes minority try to create some tension.... never seen anything bad about Ivon (but i guess there is something) but it is same case and any political or quasy-political relation would be wrong. In Ralph case it was just famous actor doing his economical calculation and for us one city wich once saw and cooperated with famous filmmakers and he was "name" (with Butler then) to give some credit because he was willing to cooperate, marketing/image move. Apolitical recognition, doesn't deserve any negativity and he joked about "being Serb, long dream"
respectful guy and nice moments i'd say because i visited sets few times (one is free to criticize as anybody but not in that political way, because it is miss)... Seagal laughed it as much as we, yeah he cares much nor this is place for conspiracies... one is free to think about him as "controversial", but not related to us...
Yvonne/Ivon is different, she played for us and knows the anthem.
would do "Seagal thing" on anyone even trying to imply anything political or globally actual on her
while i haven't seen anything. Chosen for skills and nice/sweet personality, of course I personally would like to think about her as really "devoted" and someone to live here and engage in political life, but how realistic is that just imagine someone in America for example typing anything stupid like it... ; .... many words for maybe clear things, remebered that Ralph post so i typed. On sporting level, maybe will continue to report on her, but not soon and with some photo or video not words
it is love. had to be precize because I know how people think, in her case it would be only jealousy because so beautiful, with or without our flag
have fun, sorry for longish post but kinda needed, like with historical i more type to any reader than forum mebers, out for now...

...some people say - probably joking - "when you white guys try to say something positive and with best intentions, often you sound racist or sexist without noticing it"
... well, while i'm not so white
nor probably classified as racist (skin based, have some dislikes)) - one can't run away from nature and various brain currents and not to notice obvious things, so i'm far from perfect and similar... true story from some (7-8, maybe more) years ago when i was sitting (without hair and looking as looking) with one male person in caffe here in "white city" and in shop nearby there was (think she even worked there, moved around in and out) black girl, beauty, young. We looked at her constantly, at least I did without staring but looking-then other way-then looking again etc, maybe unculturally but with huge symapthy and likening. It was few meters away, maybe we even said something among ourselves... point is - who knows what she was thinking and maybe hated me then
there were other examples, maybe even abroad where i do not travel ; but this one was memorable example... but i'm liked by them, generally some confusion is undersandable (contact me...))
so instead of many words i want to finish this with sport photos, 2 of my favs in national shirt... left because of composition and how white girls sit while queen speaks
and right one because I like body pose, leg, and cute, smart and concentrated facial expresson she has there
while we have no idea what will be in the future (so wish she was 20 years at least now) again - so perfect for some doll, action figurine or cartoon character fighting some giants, let alone playing skills... why I insisted so much is maybe because I didn't even notice/know her until olympics semi final
but everything has to finish once and i finish, but will report maybe in future... doll.
as i like history, this about sport, first basketball games here were played as early as times of king Peter, before 1913 iirc or maybe not... there was story left about some amateurish, semi-official and probably funny game in which team with then prince Aleksandar (hardly tall man by Serb mediaval standards) won
probably played in elegant shoes etc. Deserved pause now in this thread generally and especially about Ivon, have fun. (waterpolo was popular in Scythia still iirc hence tradition, btw)

... i looked through often hard to find and compare sources, so found some notes about some basket tries indeed in king Peter's Serbia, but those were probably just introductions and fun for diplomats without even "pro" ball so doesn't count as start of sport ; ...first pro ball and pro rules of the game came here officially in 1923 so i guess that's official start and teams started to form. similar with some other sports (like football) which did start in kingdom of Serbia, with ball and rules in late XIX c (by a Jew man) - however first teams were formed around 1910, league and competitions even later, when some teams outside of today territory probably existed. waterpolo - in that official sense - was first played in Hungarian territory then.... it is like other history, political or military - i'm always advocating precision so this is "official" so to speak - however it is important to note that one must take into consideration that one talks about state and its organization while borders were changed so joking is in order, not to mention global "controversies" about origins of the sport... they are all from Britain in modern sense and "Ugly-Sexon" world
(so sorry but funny, of course your beauty is notorious) one way or another here or continent generally - but pupils beat professors long time ago
Scotland will reclaim that waterpolo crown beacuse they are as good swimmers as we are.....
anyway, what I found super interesting, while looking at some sources is that - if we consider international level as some sort of officiality - funny enough rugby as sport had one of the "longest traditions" in Serbia
while not popular... namely, not only that it was played unofficialy during the war - but officially (before the end of war) Serbia played "British empire" in Scotland. cute, unknown fact, probably by that "one of the oldest team sport as international representation" in our history, personally didn't know that.
aaaaahhh, saw a pic of her and instantly desire to hug... isn't she cute, adorable. contrary to opinion that national teams sport is tribal and leads to increase of nationalistic feelings etc. etc. etc. her case proves that it might be - what word to use - super and cute... never mentioned one line from her Italian interview where she said "playing for national team was dream come true" - so isn't it cute that it were our colors to satisfy one interest and dream for a our cute Afro-American-Serb. Kiss and hug.
but no more, as said... Have fun & i'm here again only for historic info and fun about rugby.

...i don't know, maybe sport story of this century in my country
the more i think about it, the more i like it, inspired me much. Must note to readers that this is not even our first female gold in basket with American player *and we have 2 golds and bronze, Olympian and European lately) - but special in many ways, iconic. Since we are live in America
it is like girl from Arkansas finding her dream and love in Alabama
....just joking, nothing like that nor remotely comparable - of all American states here on continet (in broad, geographical sense) we have only Georgia
.... so it is not about that at all, it is more sport related as she had no WNBA experience and fame but took the gold and with country which wasn't even maybe among favorites in competition, because cutest of them all. (in series of tense games which me the dumbhead missed, like missing history) she was the best in the finals. Few weeks ago i didn't care much, but now sorry for that olymipics medal she missed more...
i don't feel so good today (nights became cooler after many hot nights) so i missed planned sunday "event" - spent time reading about things i'd probably not read about, including which Euroleague group female Venezia team is in
(to me they all look unknown) etc. etc. After joking to one person and saying that i only follow female basketball other day, he asked me are we qualified for next fem world cup - i did not know so i checked that also, the answer is NO here is road to that competition, so we are in one of the four groups, illogically including also only 2 countries that already there USA and Australia... 3 first from each group will qualify... as with men basket FIBA flicked it up a bit and worst of all qualifications are in the middle of season so there is danger for all countries to be without key players. here is graph for interested... personally i fear we are on decline, but sincirely hope for new team skeleton around our "Chris Paul", but much cuter (and faster)), but that is also under question mark, not to repeat myself:

My sporting highlights last weekend:
1.
King of the Court in Hamburg in the tennis stadium "Am Rothenbaum" with 40 German and 40 international teams.
Heart-stopping final in the women's competition: Three minutes and 30 seconds before the end of the match, Poland's Kinga Wojtasik and Katarzyna Kociolek are ahead 13 to 5. In a great sportsmanlike gesture, they concede a block touch and set the stage for the interim duo Laura Ludwig / Anouk Vergé-Dépré (GER/SUI) to make their comeback of the tournament. The German-Swiss combo takes the lead in the last second and the two can now call themselves Queen of the Court.
In the men's competition, Piotr Kantor and Bartosz Losiak from Poland win sovereignly.
... and next weekend
King of the Court in Utrecht
2.

well done Para, not only for being most active player there, but for participating with other interests in pub. i, like you, often use few minutes for that, you never know what you can find on other links...
anyway for the end of this block now, i gave a link from wiki but forgot mentioning that any interesant can contact or support Mike Anderson on some platforms... i don't use them - seen his family header pic on twitter and melted from cuteness
- he can even help if you are there for college thing questions, but don't try
leads a lower level divisions team from Queens as coach and promoted our team and daughter via pages in the US... even if in possible scenario story is over - her birthday is march 8th (super fact) and by next competition already closer to 33 years although looks as fresh as rose, nice to give some thumbs up or say hello to him as well... a bit privatising now for the end, but anyone is free to share some iconic story of their own
finished until something substantial about her to report. it makes sports fun, she sings our anthem, we sing "sweet home Alabama" and all
have fun, over.

Ale, you can wish success to some teams from former Yugoslavia these days, because it's the time for CEV EuroVolley 2021.
https://eurovolley.cev.eu/en/women-2021/
Among others, women's teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia are fighting for the European crown.
Serbia has excellent players and, along with Turkey, can perhaps have the highest hopes for the championship. They were already in a very good playing mood at the Tokyo Olympics and lost only one match, the semifinal against the eventual Olympic champions USA.

yes Para, volleyball is obviously your sport
never played much, not even some fan when it comes to watching - honest as always - because of rhythm and many pauses etc. you know it the better as player i talk as watcher... as you noticed, not even big fan of tennis though we have male number 1 currently... basket is much faster, tempo and skills - simply tennis or volleyball from watching perspective ; even European basketball (fem and men) somehow lack some really good moves and unexpected, hence why Americans, esp. blacks dominate.
anyway, preferences are preferences, in that sense female volleyball is top for watching actually
and i guess including Sarmatian girls. Have fun Para if you follow competition, of course it is tough and worth sport. Yvonne is my love
just to answer, not to look like i didn't notice your post, sorry if said something ignorant about volley
(yes btw, our fem team also won medal in your sport on recent Olympics so i guess there is good work)

Para if you know a bit about basket - well, you mentioned NBA finals yourself while i stayed silent
- i'll tell you one joke which is not joke but looks like one and partial explanation of how it is... namely, there is men Eurobasket in a year time from now and few months ago when groups were drawn i remember some text like "we have easy group" etc. but in the meantime Olymp. qualifications happened, Italy kicked us out, on other side Czech played some good basket and went there etc. so it is not so easy anymore
(there is also Israel, Poland, Finland and Holland there btw)
other aspect is also that not all players will play - we have for example Atlanta man Bogdan surely (nobody knows)) he should have'd "passported" Young from his team secretly just in case
- will Giannis or not be there etc. etc. so not so important like before, medals, winning etc. and it comes with age also in my case... that's why i like that fun aspect of sport, like Yvonne's story, charisma and cuteness, really refreshing and maybe best smile and anthem interpretation in Serb sport century/history
As final thought imagine Olympic final and we are fielding George, Paul and similar against USA. Super fun.
it looks like fem Eurobasket - which i missed - of this year was fun in that sense, even countries like Belarus tried "our thing" and were relatively successful - but like in old war song "Serbs have won again"
(sorry, it's cuteness thing) in that sense good that she was top scorer in gold medal game, making history
... Sport, the more we all understand it as fun and treat it like sportist do - to whome sport is often good way to leave country and to profit - (respect to those playing for free sometimes, of course) i.e. like international fun, the better... we can't do that in club sense anymore, so it is good that there are stories like these on national level. Alabama, Serbia, we did it together, feels alright. Ultimately i'm not adressing Para (only joke in first paragraph)
while i promised (mainly because of her) not to say it anymore, good to know if in future i put here some pics, story or video of her - like her as player, do look at skills and as player first, only second as our girl, same apropos anthem, not because it was ours but because of cute "Alabama-redneck" accent etc.
That's sport aspect, well my true feelings and love is my problem... same as me thinking it would be best president-queen on international "round tables" ever for us and qualified for that role as well... much more than... well
Btw, fast thought and important, if by any chance you do visit Mike's twitter I'm not even sure that it is her as cute baby there, or his family at all
... i'd say it is time for change of thread if i'm to post soon, thanks Para for maybe inspiring me to put some unorthodox story here, fems even

i'd probably never comment, but since Para mentioned here is info - so, our fem team made it to the semis, i watched very little because I was busy repairing cars, polishing guns and similar macho stuff....
France is not as strong as in basket currently, I fear Turkey they care a lot about fem volleyball team as they are not superpower in other sports like us, so can be unpleasant and dangerous, preparing some "sirpsindigi".
that's all nice and cute, congrats. only thing lacking there is cute little Ivončica, hug... anyway, have no doubt that we as country are entering some sort of matriarchy and decrease of male rights in the future
let it be, somehow it is even normal for females to care more about their body, depilate, be good in sports more than males (and go to army if need be...) have fun Para, semis are Serbia-Turkey and Italy-Holland, if you follow. I won't comment anymore on championship, maybe only some info if we win gold.

Ale, congratulations to the Serbian team.
The French women played very well in the first set. But then Serbia showed why they became the European Champions 2017 and 2019 and played France to the wall (as they say in Germany), especially in the third set.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gL2EwTtTtY8
The HF against Turkey will be very exciting. The teams and coaches know each other very well. Serbia's star Tijana Bošković (a real weapon in the sporting sense!) has been playing in the Turkish league with Eczacıbaşı Istanbul since 2015.
The chances of reaching the final are very even. I bet 60% for Serbia and 40% for Turkey.
My heart beats more for Serbian volleyball. In the late 90s and early 2000s Serbia had outstanding players like brothers Nikola and Vladimir Grbić, Ivan Miljković, Andrija Gerić, Goran Vujević and some others. I was a big fan of theirs and I still am with
Nikola Grbić, who has successfully continued his career as a coach.

Para, showed that you are true expert on the sport, volleyball
good luck to Germany (and Saxony) in future events, somehow considering size not always present in top of continental events... again your knowledge beats mine - though you are right (and that was part of my post) it seams that sports in which we were good are shifting from male to female side. interestingly i remember (i was i think younger than you) that back in some days there were "derbies" with NL and Italy in male competitions, interestingly now same countries are there in fem competition... we tried to make comeback in (male) basket but then some USA or Slovenia happens and ambitions are ruined
doesn't matter i already talked it, personally Yvonne is way to go.... (hopelessly and truly love her, don't know what to do Para, aaahhhh.....)
for the end, found text in (English) Turk paper i don't read that much anymore (it is intended for the Turks after all)) "Our fem volley team are looking for revenge to Serbia...". Revenge is strong word it would sound much better like "Our fem volleyball team are looking for love to Serbia etc."
...they are aiming at some previous final loss, there is good chance for that as in female basketball on recent OGames, every article after defeats (there were 3 in total) was Spain, France had revenged to Yvonne... and USA edition described semis as "trashing"... but Ivonče the best in both semis and bronze game, just imagine what state slightly bigger than Alabama could do to you with 2-3 like her
anyway - pure love i think, no more bore - you are serious expert on your sport, again... can't talk much, same as rock, but appreciate your insight on chances for eventual bet, but consider my warning, for Turks fem volley is only chance to defeat us in anything
good luck to your fav teams, my post more out of boredom and to give credit to your knowledge... really wish you luck with forum and OG revitalisation even if I desappear

so fem Italy won the gold in that championship. Congrats to Italy, probably deserved by sport experts. Congrats to us for being - like in basket both EC and Olys - smallest country in the current top.
(but richest) Congrats to Turkey for being in feminine top...
well done to Para
not only for knowledge but as we successfully covered another sport competition after NBA, Euro, Olympics, Le Mans etc etc ) ....maybe i'll do some coverage of fem Euroleague i.e. exclusively Reyer Venezia team results in future, but not sure as life is hard and unpredictable. Problem is that i'll have to dig really well to watch and most likely will hardly watch, but maybe some fast result, scorers and picture
(they have first match in october, good health and form to Ivonče)

btw, now our male volleyball team also made it to the semi-final of the EC in sport Para is expert, i see. Making us
only state in the world that had both fem and male teams in that stage of EC this year or maybe in history
we rule...
do not follow much as i already said and not good at it, seen skeleton and seen that Germany-Italy is pair. (Italy could join us in being second country in the world to do same) Good luck to Para and his team
must admit i like Italy as "mama" and stuff for eating, but Germany is our old pal, should win... because then we will have eaiser road to the final
No idea about teams, even just slightly about our
have fun if you watch Para, just joked above about our chances and am sure that if you beat Italy you will slap our balls as well - i will not comment anymore on this, except if we win gold
most seriously wish you sporting success in this competition and you are expert and nice
...who have read my previous post today i forgot to mention also that we would bring a lot of gold and precious metals from various sports to our federal national treasury & reserves if we join US
consider.

Ale, Germany was weak and Italy rightly entered the HF. Here it comes to the volleyball classic SRB vs. ITA, which was always exciting in the last years. The form of the day will decide, the chances are 50:50.
My prediction: Poland will win at the end of the tournament. I think they have learned from their mistakes in the Olympic tournament and will not show any weakness here.

watched it Para, it finished recently... somehow lacked intensity of some "classics" you mentioned decades ago but no trouble. That country became our true "sporting kryptonite" this year
kicked in basket, fem volley and now men's... Final is Italy-Slovenia... Slovenia current champions in men basketball and now final in volley - but our US readers should know that their female teams can't keep up and unlike us do not have medals in same sports (i think), so still long way to go for them to reach our female rights and modern standards
fear Italy could become too proud and revanchistic after recent streak of successes, don't you think
Good luck to your team in other competitions, even 4th is alright for us as Poland is host and we are still reigning champs until tomorrow, can't beat them all in every sport constantly ; .... another event covered by Para and me, your commentators - until next competition bye to all followers in Alabama and around the world.
(seems two of us are only "sporting souls" here but we did it alright in fun coverage recently - feel free to initiate comment about anything you watched, Para)

another nice sport story from US press and amazing coincidence worth sharing though more than month later... I'm glad Kelsey is happy now
written more than week before they met again, who would say that 5 years later same opponents will meet in same stage of the olympics and it doesn't matter who won... two my fav pictures when our fav other female team than ours beat us and later won long waited gold... hope next time they let our girls do the same. Congrats Kelsey! love them, we are sister states, nice story and happyend for both as we grabbed bronze at least.
(Kelsey is bottom right under black girl and right jump-huging other girl)
The memory, when Kelsey Robinson thinks about it, still stings.
Predicted to win gold at the 2016 Games, the U.S. women’s volleyball team suffered a stunning loss to Serbia in the semifinals and ended up settling for bronze. It marked the 11th time the American women had tried — and failed — to become Olympic champions.
“I was heartbroken, as anybody would be when it’s right in your hands and you watch it slip away,” said Robinson, who grew up in suburban Bartlett. “Of course there are days when you think about it, but it’s been five years and it’s in the past. But it does fuel me to want to do more.”
Robinson, 29, has another shot at gold as one of four returning members on the squad....etc

so, it was fem Venezia - KSC Szekszard (Hungarian, read as "sekshard")) 80:59. Needless to say Ivon the best with 23 points... didn't watch but it seems it is, unlike i said, easy to watch as ELwomen streams them free via youtube.
word is that our fem basket coach is gonna leave position and take some other national team (France, Belgium).... money, money, money, must be funny la-la-la, but doesn't matter, enough medals here, maybe it is about money, maybe new challenge or us being on decline. (though still having Ivon) In that sense congrats again to Ivon and also American ex-player Daniela, for winning few golds with us and being patriotic
Still one of must successful sport in our history as Serbia, fem basket. Something male branche still can only dream about, although it is quite obvious that team once called (FR) "Serbo-Monte-Slovakia" from 90s and early 2000s was our team, dominantly, and has 2 world cups and few Euros
...talking about it, we got coach which led us to few golds then, but he was 20 years younger
(and even 30 younger when he won first gold with Germany) good luck to him, but times changed and not so important we made history more than once small as we are. he said he will "beg" our last year NBA MVP "Joker" to play again, but also not so important as he played before but result wasn't good - only could be interesting EC with Giannis, him, Dončić, France, Spain etc. but i doubt all will play...
to finish this flash with yellow unimportant pages and Paul George getting son - they named him Vuk (Serbian "wolf") regardless what one thinks about him and his wife, nice that so far away our legendary name lives on
(wear it proudly, more than one medieval hero had it)

...looking for something (waaay) other, found this basket competition must say i didn't even know it exists. Congrats to Ireland, really impressive for a country of some 6,5 millions in company of Andorra, Malta, San Marino and Gibraltar
...no idea how and why some participate (own wish maybe) but see it has longish tradition since 80s. Smart move by smart Irish, never heard honstly
In the meantime 2 mills Slovenia is champion of the "big states"
Cute, Irish are cute, good luck in the future... and if you have a spare place in your cup once, feel free to call
(just joking we are equals to USA) honestly just found out about it, something fresh as knowledge
https://www.fiba.basketball/europe/smal ... 021/groups
thinking, no idea why something similar wasn't done until now in football as well seeing Scottish torments against Faroese and my wet hand palms for some money... but it ended well, congrats to Scotland
i happy. see you in the barrage potentially, old cute pal and sweetie. (or we send Ronaldo your way)) Seriously though, would be nice idea in football too, segregated championship for small countries, think about it uefa
Gold for all.

i, btw, looked at some Scottish site with comments and entertainment generally and there was section of "desirable play offs partner" in eventuality and some answers were like "i'd take Serbia" (and few others, while we don't even know format yet, but all in funny way and respectful)... considering internet anonymity and all I'm 99% sure majority of that answers were by girls and women, so we should be honoured and is flattering
Think there is a lot of space and potential for us to improve basket, waterpolo, volley in countires like Scotland, Ireland and similar once in the future, or right now
female sections as well and mate them as nations )
but let's leave that subject alone for now and football generally, where quite honestly neither we nor Scotland are not some superpowers, only difference being we are much more present and trophy-able in other sports. Looked at "small countries EC" history and (while still no exact idea) it seems that i was (partly) right about it developing by wish of participants. If you never heard about it like me, it developed from former C division of EuroBasket after its abolition, we never heard of it because we were always in top tears in that sport... likewise they continued as some sort of separate competition, but still able to take on tries to qualify for main event... most seriously and informatively, one unrelated look at sport history i noticed - very funny that "officially" Egypt ranks higher than Serbia on Eurobasket medal list
but people around the world know that 3 EC golds, 2 WC golds and one Oly silver from 1995-2002 are de facto ours
so not so important. Lots of luck to Scotland, Ireland and such and really think they like us, it is mutual and potential even biological
no offense of course in previous post of mine but funny in numbers and "small countries status"
welcome miladies.

in lack of any content - we continue to cover female EL until able - and adventures of our Ivon
Before that it is worth mentioning this week her colleague from national team Tina "Krajina" who had - for female basket - massive 26 points and 12 rebounds and made it to the EL team of the weak. congrats Tina whenever fem scores above 20 in any game it is massive
She's also over 30 years sadly, but we don't fear being natural spring of neverending talents and having some 200 millions girls in America to pick from preparing future champions....
back to main heroine - Ivon again was the best scorer for Venezia, this time better guarded but with 15 pts, in away loss to Russian Ekaterinburg 75-69. That team is with few representational players, including Belarus' Alex Bentley
Ivon overscored her... next week is home game in Venezia against something like strong opponent from Spain, Avenida Salamanca. Good luck to our national team players and champions and keep up good form... btw, more people should come and watch games sometimes
by chance changing TV channels last week just few days after fem EL game, arena in Venecia was full for male game versus champs Bologna, seen just few teen girls but not much famous masked Venetian ladies there last time. Be supportive, it is very important competition and you have some cool players
Re: Sports Thread

...yep, knowing very little i properly characterized Avenida Salamanca as "something like strong" and score proved that, leaving Venezia sinking - of course only as figure it is great city and place of great party/orgy/maskenball our first king and queen had in the start of XIII c and fra Mauro map with famous golden forks
still remembered here so we love Venice - anyway back to subject, with 56-71 away win
Ivon the best (shared with Kayla) for losing side at 14
...mentioning it, here is unimportant and as authors said early (will be changed a lot) entry on EL MVPs by w-EL site, in first entry we are the only country which had 2 candidates in top 10, Ivon & Tina, not even USA or Russa or anyone. logically because we are champs and strong. btw, Tina had 15 today... it is gonna change and much more efficient players there in competition, but we are gonna win the WC surely by early signs
https://www.fiba.basketball/euroleaguew ... er-edition
something completely different... never was huge fan of Ronaldo, playing and fitness for respect if not other "things" ; and I thought he is about to finish career earlier this year in my city, leaving game after as he said he had enough of football
but must say this is second CL night after few weeks ago he brings me some money with late goal... (never again much trust in MU, enough late goals) maybe not as late as few weeks ago in 96. min but worthy after 0-2 down ; maybe i should become fan, i doubt but congrats for keep on trying and scoring for me Rondo ;
have fun, but i'll keep it about female sports generally if anything in future for fun or out of boredom, while not really place for sport or anything else really... didn't want to post even today, but why not saying that i had nice sport evening although i watched 15 mins of fem EL and 15 mins of male CL, but profitable
NBA season started, but currently can't watch anything and honestly who needs it with women EL around, best basket is already served by Tina, Ivon and all...... yeah.

....so fem Venezia isn't as good after all, lost today with "huge" deficit to Riga. didn't follow it was very early.... most important thing is that Ivon was the best for losing side at 14...
anyway, lets leave fems to fems, maybe i'll come back if something "important" happens. (even if i stop regular reports really good luck to Ivon, Tina and rest, no sarcasm - one doesn't win gold every day...) Those laughing at fems and sports should just look at few results in "best league" i.e. NBA. So i'll write few impressions after following a little of season start. Regular season, funny and unimportant as ever
with teams that will hardly even make it to the play offs blasting favourites as kids and such things.
west - no idea why they again consider Lakers as main favs in their "power rankings", they hardly impressed and look like team that finished last playoffs early
with James or not. Utah looking good again but they were 1st last season yet crippled Clippers kicked them out. Clippers are again one of my favs, George "character" of fun
with Leonard - maybe only in playoffs, they would be strong. Golden state will again depend a lot on Curry, Dallas on Dončić and all... Joker can't jump
east - glad Atlanta looking solid and able with ball, wasn't coincidence. With Young in form and with support of few scorers (Bogdan, Reddish, Collins) even Swiss center is not so bad (he is black, not Albanian as most Swiss sportists, btw) they can go far again, should go i'd say, good luck and my clear favs in the east
Brooklyn depends a lot on Durant in the start of season at least, but he is class and can't do all. Generally there could be something new in the east, it is early to say are Chicago (they have 2 Montenegros players, such rarity)) really good, Miami and all. Milwaukee, the champs, currently playing with only Middleton at full strength
but will go far again if they don't face Brooklyn or Atlanta in first round... Philadelphia, last year first placed, looks trashy
new name and "point hunter" definitively Morant from Memphis... few impressions and fun on that from me this early - it is easy for me to comment basket because my local club currently have maybe best European coach with so many El titles, hard to remember
but still not enough to be even close to EL, exclusive club for rich (and Greeks)). have fun, my view on NBA can be valuable......

i'm awful man... i'm sleeping while black men make money for me
had only George and Harden last night and they both exploded
(while true i'm joking kids don't do that at home - i never put some money in it and my profits are small, btw)
speaking of Harden (on photo) finally, first time since i follow a bit for few months, he slapped us all doubters and calling him names and dominated game for a change
many say he is finished but he still can be top scorer in a game... it was "only" Indiana, but somehow all us fans expected him to run and jump once
Tried to watch Brooklyn game, but my head fell near the end of first quarter but it was nice dreams seeing Hardy scoring like mad in first 12 mins... George just followed, but his team look bad at start... have fun, have nice weekend.
