Buying ships

I am wondering that buying ships is not possible in the menu? Why is this not possible? Is there no room for another class?

I am asking because in PG2 RSF it was possible to buy ships in the menu and in my first campaign the player had to buy a fleet. This was always intersting e.g. Reloadmaster played it @50% and had to buy some U-Boote and could afford only one big ship. Also it was always intersting to see if the player will buy a Bismarck or a Littorio. As far as I have understand it in OG I have to add a ship as core unit. I think this is a lit bit dump, because the player has not the agony of choice.

Probably there is a good reason that ship buying is not possible, but it would be intersting to know it

Of course you can buy ships!

See the pictures from Kaiser and Atomic Efiles. Just klick on the little arrow to get to the page with the ships classes and buy ships like any other unit
