Pavle was born in the 870s between 870 and 874 to Bran Mutimirović, the middle son of Mutimir. His Christian name, in relation to the previous generation of pagan names, shows the spread Christianization of the Serbs.
generally - to me - one example of wrong conclusions by "scholars" through ages..... not only that his uncle was called Stefan (obviosly christian name, in France written as Charles btw)) but in previous generation there were likes of Petar, short ruler.... so, what i'm trying to say, by this scholar logic - like our, like many western which for era gave too much importance to names, so some argued that germanic name of some Italian lord indicates origin, or does that make Enrico or Henry Dandolo automatically German

or if i'm named Joe i'm American

etc - but to return to theme, does that sentence by logic means that during our peak and fall (cute, ahhh my Vinegia)) when soooo many nobility names were pagan rooted (so Pribac, Vuk, Vukashin, Uglesio, Branko, Baldovin, maybe Altomanus if falschist)) etc etc. (really many more) Serbs were "less christian" than in VIII c or during Stefanmagne ;... of course not and one can't make any conclusion even less proof of much based just on names - rather that during whole history of times in Serbs both pagan (while bearers were christian) and christian names were equally spread or liked in elites and it proves nothing concretely about status of christianity in XIV century when our lords had so many "pagan names" if you get it....
anyway, something else, must admit that Bran, our prince in dominant latin use times spelled "Branus" and son of "Montemero"

(just example how it is tricky when in society one element would dominate) so Bran name was always most curious to me, very interesting and fitting in theory, along with possible Celtic title "sluga" we had until fall.... in one royal family like our of the time it is appropriate theoretically and is generally not present as Slavic, but present among Celts, like many our phrases (not to return to famous -ica ending and similar).... BUT in concrete to me, why mentioning our royals, it might be not some common personal name, but distortion of name "Brenus" possible Gaulish title and also name by which are conqueror of Rome and attacker on Greece are known, so might be very well known to some old Serbs or Serds or Scordisci etc. Curious that our ruler Mutimir (Montemero) named 3 sons as Prbislav (lets say slavic) Stefan (christian) and Branus or Bran (lets say celtic) maybe making some statement in times

just like Nemanja (as said name in similar forms present in Celts, but not theme at all) named his sons Stefan, Vukan and Rastko, maybe as statement of times ; etc. etc, who gets....
mentioning attack on Greece (where i.e. Macedon and Thrace) some tribes already lived (including maybe smaller Serds) and Scordisci especially in Thrace... after arrival of "Brennus" they joined and after Brenus killed himself (by drinking wine without water by Greeks, just like Dushan the HIM)) and failled expedition Scordiscii ruler (previously allied with Bren) led people from "Greek lands" to place on Danube and Savus confluence and possibly settled around already present Singidunum, Celtic foundation ;...... in general story of eventual Serb retereat from southern regions or pushing out is theoretically possible, but just in theory with many fitting elements and similar..... other thing, Gauls had big migration from today northern "France" (hehe) in times when roughly also Serds might have migrated to SE europe etc etc. saying, as it could explain (rather touch) lack of Ser- toponyms in Armorica and northern Gaul, pardon Frankia ; as tribe maybe migrated, but we are just talking............ in practical sense it is not unimportant because when we and Greeks (supported by Martian and Johnny V) win the war a lot map changing will be done, renaming and honest talks from which some will not be able to run away......

Sofia who? Seriosly, strong theory of ultimate origin, Branus, sluga, Ibar, Tara, conquest at peak aimed at both Macedon but also Singidunum, horns, fantastic helmets which is Celtic speciality and present in us (even some winged husars etc) toponyms in France, good relations in meds with Franks and really many many more, makes Bulgaria shaking

but politics are not point at all, generally fun and possible.... Gauls were even known for Greeks as "good swimmers" while from north and not "armorica" (by the sea) and we are good in waterpolo, sapienti sat

could be possible, indeed and only for those liking it. found and there are many smaller details in celto-gallic history (often is use of at least se- prefix etc) and us, but too unimportant to write all and fun enough all said ;
