Does initiative matters when the attacker is out-of-range of the defender?

Post by Ramon »

This is a long standing doubt I have. :huh
When ART or TB attack. Or when a unit with range two attack an unit with range one that can't fight back.
The attacker will always shot first and there wont be any counter attack isn't?
Does the initiative matters? :dunno

Sorry I can't help you with this, because I never payed attention to the combat formulas, but since nobody gave an answer I wanted to at least point you to Luis' website. Maybe there you will find the answer in the combat formulas.

Sorry I missed this post :bonk
Not sure to understand this properly though ...

When any unit attacks another which that cannot fire back, it is not that they fire first due to initiative, the point is that this is the only able to fire.

Initiative only matters if both can fire each other, and figures if they fire simultaneous (current strength) or the winner fires first and thus the other fire back after taken casualties.

Thank you all!
That makes sense. :nods
It's something to take into consideration when buying an ART or TB. These units usually try to avoid confrontation and attack units that can't fire back.
Gracias por la aclaración Luis!

Well okay but TB can and should attack AA and AD if they have the initiative. They get good experience by this. :grumpy
