How to append new country/nation flags

I am trying to add some more countries/nations to an existing EFile, is there any specific app that I should use to append to the flag png files?

No need any special app, can edit the png files from the OPENDAT folder (dossier, flags inspect ... png files) with any graphic editor adding one image for the new country with same size than the last one. Then add a new nation name to the file Nations.txt, after the last existing nation in the file.

Please keep in mind that you not only have to add the nations flags but also the pictures for

dossier medal
dossier portrait
inspect leader
inspect medal
roundel

to the various files found in the opendat folder of the efile.

When editing the files make sure they always have the correct width in pixels, because otherwise it is not shown correctly in the game.
