btw, like the scars, adore the scars on helmet..... artistic freedom or else, some source with representations? but so great touch... of some sharp weapon blows to head of our kings that stood........

and so true, so true... that's me, that's them... full of scars and bleeding, can't sleep at nights because of you Jaquinta. What did they do to you, can't even think, can't even say without shaking - did they maybe rape you in prison.... and what other things you had to endure in that your dark, wet kelia, before you died in it.... oh yes, scars indeed......

lovely detail :yes & if you are realistic wherever you sit, last words, probably no greatest state and monarchy story in whole Europe than those of rise and fall of Nemanides, only possibly greater with Vukashin's strike that ended it in blood.... the boy HIM raised and trusted so much, ah.... objectively great one from Vukan I (and Bodin and Jaki) to that theatrical and epic possibility - bravo many intellectuals (except bloody Shakespear)) outside for recgonizing it, Gabriele, French, that Polish dude etc.

something in the Vukashin's behavior, experts medievalists would agree, indicates some "remorse or sense of guilt" in a way of death and move towards east and "Turks"... he was powerful for local terms, but hardly powerful in sense of (French, German, English etc not even Miluten who sent army maybe to Jerusalem even) kings to go east just for some "duty or glory" and similar....saying in sense of S Urosh V destiny :) ...of course hardly fact, mere observation as it is known that their possesions were among first to be attacked by Turks eventually, but Turks stilldid not make bigger move towards (fragmented) "Serb empire" by then, some even speculate (Greeks) thatin time of Vukashin's death Hadrianople wasn't even in Turk possesion so he theoretically might have been going further east in some speculative and non-factual sense of "remorse" and to prove to other Serb lords that "he had nothing to do with it"......... however nice stories aside, they say that emperor Urosh actually died very shortly after Vukashin ;) ...but sadly this also hardly a fact thatcould be confirmed only by few dates - as indicated tha we in Europe often had dates contested or wrong etc... so some epic suspicion remains, not without base - bit in Vukashin's defense and honor also highly speculative and unprovable..... "folk authors" of epic recognized or noticed "something" in both epic poem how Vukashin and his brother "are dividing empire", but also maybe by giving epic role of "hero" to his son Marko (in totally unhistorical circle of poems) due to maybe felt sense that Marko was "victim of father's greed" etc.... Marko is also maybe symbolic (as we are from Mars) due to then more visible line Marko-Urosh I-"White Urosh"-Nemanja, but just mention....

to explain to Croats :) for example for humor but more for other lovers ) myhical treason of Brankovich family is less visible than this above.... it were the Brankovich's themselves that (like Colonnas in other way)) claimed or imagined that they are "relatives of Nemanides" and myth is more product (and support) of Lazarevic noble family, so there is some trick, not purely "folk sensibility".... it could be on the contrary be some warning by Lazarevic's (great family and for Stefan's ties in the west alone) to main line Nemanides "e-hey where are you going, Serbia is the north" to say that semi-humoristic..... so if you get even 50% of it as explained, stage was set back then for great "Roman like epics, including stab to Kesar" etc. in some way, but maybe all do not get finesses, nor all are visible.... so, small idea on this passage, Brankovics were surely more closer to Dushan's circle, sported lions and claimed kinship and probably belonged to very old nobility, plus Branko (despite not having highest of titles by HIM) controlled important and symbolic lands of Ohrid area, even in religious way important more than econimic etc.... after Dushan's death and esp. his own death his sons were quckly pushed out from there, back north, lands in consequence taken over largely by Vukashin himself etc etc.... every lover should hopefully get some idea and where are some "tricks" in epic sense while no time to go through every nice detail and there are many, i gladly share as is super theme and with purpose to get it closer to any lover and what were ties, some true some speculative as even we do not know whole background...

generally - think this is not interesting for wider audience but fun - Dushan's "love-hate" (as Vukashin family might be somwhere from there, so also loved those that supported him) relation with some "Hercegovnia" region in modern sense or then in our terms related as Hum, Zahumlie, Travunia and what not :) generally Triballii :) and Bosnia is interesting... not only that he led short camp in Bosnia as emperor then, but i'll share as probably unknown to 90% of locals even and is not part of dubious Wiki-pages about HIM, few anecdotes...

one shortly and i talked how he personally put a lot of efforts to end some "brigand" culture there and parts of Dalmatia where he could, so i talked about some Milten the brigand whome Dushan pacified or tried to pacify generally region, and protect Ragusans.... but much more interesting and cinematic for eventual film is from Dushan's very young age, below 20 so practically teen and when he was still official "young king" and governor of Zeta and his father king of whole land.... (i if you ask, was also young but a bit older than HIM then)) Not looking at any source again - all from head and maybe whole story is only anecdotes anyway - but shows what kind of man Dushan was, for film scene in intro period... namely, he sometimes for fun quarelled with Bosnia or Hum lands only so went into few smaller battles with them, as said as prince and with Zeta entourage... in one of them he (HIM) allegedly, told by also Bosnian ban (ruler) allegedly, de-horsed Bosnian ban (i think if remember it well) 2-3 times in person and he had to change horses as many times or share them with others, by anecdote :) ...well i'm animal lover so do not approve if horses were hurt but maybe with spear/lance only in battle, so Dushan was already as teen in that sense formidable figure and capable for greater role...... also nice tactician by story of night move through difficult terrain against father who had significantly bigger armies around him, but de-throned him next morning etc.... to return to subject, Bosnians together with Lazar later very much had dubious role in dealing with both emperor Urosh (but no documented violence and rivalry against HIS weakness) but much more against some sons of Dushan's closer nobles (Altomanus son who did not even get "Greek lands" but was respected and untouched under him) except Vuk B.... but in Hercegovnia ) and Bosnia they all wanted to boast of some ties with Nemanides post their death etc.

hate when i widen and "water" (as we say when we lose focus on subject since meds)) but mainly wanted to say this nice anecdote or truth about Dushan as fighter since early age, rarely spoken about how he behaved on field in later age, with Hungarians and in Greece etc some say that he got fat, some say that he was constantly on wine but i reject both as malicious etc...... yeah, the end, numbers 80000 as well 300 are "magical" and often repeated since ancient times, just saying ;) from what interests me, hope i gave and shared so many interesting details and you catched as many - i'm finished, nothing for pub anymore, maybe some music..................... :lol

those are all anecdotes, but i always say small details (and "own initiative or mental independece" in interpretations) above anecdotes and narratives, so i noted as poke to other states :) but might be true as some his exceptional physicalities...

something else to conclude on HIM - it was not him that amassed armies and attacked father before (when he fled Skadar), it was not him recorded with various sexual habits, his father (for example as we talk them now, not as he was anything spectacular) executed own half-brother while Dushan kept him alive and gave some lands, he did not even pressure own wife (although having sense of "self importance") with a lot of kids and gave her even diplomatic initiatives, he challanged religious norms etc etc. So, if you understand, deeply philosophical and shouldn't be so controversial figure in our history of the times, greatest in more ways than size ;)

similar is case of Miluten in one detail - guess that he could in 1282 just also execute his (surely half, no discussion to me about it) brother but he led him aside in Greece, even tried to approach papacy (for what it matters as it was aggressive and corrupt often institution) and help Italy.... so who really were "bad guys" in our history ;)

conquest (which is of course important, as much as we don't like it on our skin, others probably as well, but should be some "easy on it" on HIM as Greeks claimed how he said Kanatkuzenos how he "gonna ruin Thessaloniki etc"...)) but he spoke the language of conquested etc. so conquest is mere element to forget other trully philosophical aspect of his personality, only "non saint" so instant attraction..... somehow i even started this book with it, so it is a bit of repeat... generally HIM deserves it, while one opinion is not needed....... but of course not going to other extreme in anything as he wasn't democratic surely but knew how to limit himslef in excess :) ....to this day question remains of "catholic ties"..... :lol (totally unimportant, more likely he seen himself above both branches) as i talked also is sad that destiny in post war (and Italy hardships) after his remains were found, should have been different to say at least as figure-jewel of our history times ; small summary not to be misguided by "strength" stories of mighty.... :)

equally true, love the own post about his post death elites although i only touched the tip of it, if unimportant today then surely highly interesting to put light on all big families.... there was no "injustice" in our case as Stefan called George and they ruled it as last,as maybe should have be by kinship etc etc. so that is more point... if anyone from somwhere has story, welcome - would like to vivisect some figures...

also like to say this, i think people outside of some substance (as i'm not expert on religion as well but this is easy) sooo many times use or even understand things wrongly even when having some knowledge....

it is theoretical and generally not important but just to give "plastic example" of how would it work... unlike catholicism, there is no "orthodoxy" and there was no such in say year 1350 esp ; i.e. esp. considering that Dushan by then elevated Serbia orthodox church to patriarchy (unrecognized by Constant though)) but recognized probably by Bulgarian OC in moment.... so in case of theoretical conversion (almost never happened to catholics despite some claims, more likely it was for other orthodox subject to be "converted" to lead of SOC, acronym from above)... so you get that first level. Second and fun SOC was then led by ex-logothete of Serb state i.e. civil administartor whome HIM turned into patriarch etc. so double fun for eventual convertit :) ....generally unimportant but just to explain as people do not see fine little detail that could happen to somone in 1350 Serb empire and that orthodoxy doesn't exist like catholicism, so theoretical speak.... almost like explain of union and conversion that were "on table" but not same thing, guess this is even less known subject..... Dushan, a rebel, hence for such reasons received "a punch" for both sides and both wanted to strangle HIM :) as said similar to Philip IV, but generally there was no "conversion to orthodoxy" if Dushan's forces were to do it, minor distinction just to not use wrong terms

the end, but as seen always many details, some know very well some maybe not so, generally was fun rule and extraordinary figure

his biography - talking for you fanatics as not own expertise :) - i mean bio of that first patriarch Joanikije, ex-SoS like, claims that he "built" two churches in holy land (beside already present monastery next to Sepultura and who knows what not) and on iconic and important places, one on Mt Carmel and on Mt Tabor, today Israel(i guess))..... it is not clear to me were they our i.e. SOC churches+monateries possibly or it was for somone else or in coop etc, but considering turbulent times, maybe SOC owned... when you combine all that we had very significant religious and monumental presence in Holy land once - no idea how it slipped that we recognized Israel :lol to joke a little....

anyway, since remembered that topic i'll say that i once digged all i could as amatuer (and mostly online) but couldn't find any mention or trace or hint simply where were those two churches in such known places located and where they integrated into something or completely ruined etc. Esp. is interesting claim on Mt Tabor as it is relatively/really smaller place than the other one I think just one "vulcano like" hill and where it could be except on top, where there are now some catholic and orthodox church/monastery etc.... just to say, i had no luck in finding out any trace in foreign sources of previous SOC base and similar... but beside that for lovers of history, our meds, some stories of state reach and "power" in addition... maybe you ever heard something of locations (if were SOC) so say freely.... :) ....all combined from Kermit to Dusciano, onjectively we left too many traces for Turks to find us, unavoidable :) ...but nice stories from Jerusalem to both hills, who likes that part of spiritual traces we left.

also a bit lighter while in mood (but nothing funny of our fate from power to this in just 700 years) 3 and a half figures related to us are mentioned in region and places... after consulting Wiki again, did it before long time ago before searched other sites, so visited it now to see if there is some new line about us :) ...first is our dude Vespasianus (who served in our Claudia some 50 km from Singidunum and often visited Tuarunum)) who prayed there and visited some Greco-Roman oracles - so without forcing solution I just hint that place of our church might be on same spot as those are our folk :) ...second is Louis IX Capet, today widely accepted as "father in law" of our crown i.e. king, or better father of our queen (after she matured of course). Wiki says he founded something there, but it is denied and he just visited Carmelite monastery. So due to family relations and inheritance, spot could be potential place of our church once, later ruined and rebuilt much later etc... consider.

lastly 3rd person (and one half becuase Franz Josef also walked around in XIX) is ta-daaaa - Napoleon.... considering his bias* and policy nothing is accidental in all that and no thinking person shouldn't have any doubt why any trace of Serb presence there is erased.... :lol

* if not following, we are talking about his knowledge of some few million silver (but glam silver made mind that, although Vinegia actually claimed it is 6 miligrams lighter than their "ducat" and falsificated)) dinars of Philip IV to our king Miluten, so Napoleon led clear policy of denial and evidence removal, including Serbia as country.... to say lastly, glam silver dinar was in that time around or above "livres francs" in exchange offices around Europe, esp. praised and above in Germany.... just you to get idea of some monetary obligations Frnach had to us and to relate summ in today terms......

but with all humor (i see none as all is true in one way or another, so it is half humor or satire) hope you catched few nice details about which we even do not know much...... seriously and apolitically, it was the Greek patriarchates who during centuries had special interest (or revenge like mood) to often confiscate or ruin Serb imperial traces (of both Miluten and Dushan, in a way).... nothing political but just readers to comprehend how we had much more property in Byzant and Holy land once but struggles with esp. Constant patriarchate and much, much less Greek Jerusalem patriarchate... while Greeks are sisters ;) all that happened paralel or beside or independently of struggles with Otto-Turks, Albanians etc. so people always have some disbleief that Serbia was really as much powerful in meds as much of the traces are ruined so generally educational etc etc. lovely stories, i like them hope you learnt something, main idea of sharing & you like satire

here's btw model representation (but accurate) of how few Roman i.e. our cities looked like, as seen all by the rules and high-level including Circus for races and amphiteatre not to say (h)arena etc. It is all relatively newer and many findings are from 21st century, including that my paternal family house (located in lower left hand part of model) had quarters for slaves :) ouch.... it is Viminatium, possibly first visited by Augustanus with some acopmanied legion as first emperor (and first at all) via Vespasianus and Traianus and Hadrianus, many more in post-classical period, some even declared at spot... so when we say "kurva, meta, prokedite" it has sense to say it is origin of our words ; ...but just one of several, plus some imperial retreats, usual orgy places & of course many regular and aux forts.... as i theorize, hardly in our middle ages "all was ruined and invisible" actually, surelly much more than it is today including many figures (not to go back to name Altomanus etc) statues, symbols maybe sported by our elites that made them fascinating in Italian eyes, for example.... used many words but some visualisation, for change. And why it was important for our elites, theoretically pushed, to at peak reclaim many lands and spread even further south etc... theoretically not imporsible

whatever happened, day-by-day or yearly and whatever truth of our knowledge or relation (there was a lot of pop change here and Italy) one fact remains as almost European rarity or uniqueness - at time of "state creation" (depends should earlier Serb "archonties" be included, generally unimportant though Jaquinta is surely our figure for example) our princes were married to wife from old, possibly ancient Roman bobility and other to (later or sooner) Dandolo wife, so both claimants of "Roman ties". pure fact... likable or not, depends but fact.

....something else, as Wiki brought me to other places regarding previous theme so found this, as unimportant but noticed by my detective eyes.... while text clearly mentiones Yugoslavia as one of the first in recognition process of Israel, following table doesn't put any date of 48-49 beside any country of it, while it puts it beside for Russia, Ukraine and Belarus only of other Soviet states :) based on what and why if i may ask (except of course importance of those 3 due to huge Jewish populations once and maybe now) but of course totally unimportant, just one of many oddities why Serbia also is not dated in 1948/49.... unimportant to the level i even regret recognition in light of new evidence and unresolved ownership of Holy land. return :) .......one word, Vespasianus :) ......really wanted to add, less humoristically, that i often looked at Franciscan sites and presence regarding previous topic but no luck even there. Due to fact that in time in question we often cooperated maybe the best with Franciscans of all present in the areas.... the one on Mt Tabor is indeed related to them etc. Again if Henrew or Arabic reader or ever heard some trace or mention of us outside of Jerusalem, say it... interesting subject surely - and believe me if we were to capture land in XIV it would be a) part of richest monarchy of Europe b) women would have all rights, including family planning and ability to enter all holy places equally and to vote for our emperors :) c) there would be no Jews, Arabs nor Greeks there so no troubles :lol .......of course joking at c) point (dark humor but fun) but could be said that first 2 are true if satirical.... glad we are related to places - i mean imagine self-claiming important medieval state that had no monasteries or churches in the Holy land, so we did :yes ....maybe even we were main "crusading or western" nation in some short period of circa 100 years that "dominated" some things there (losely said) in time of "vacum" after fall of Crusader states and formation/strengthening of others, to put this way

it is a photo from Wiki btw and it says from 2018.... maybe just my imagination but think that custodian or guide (woman with short red painted hair, bacuase few heads are turned towards her) is wearing "Free Palestina" or "Arafat" scarf :lol ...and while talking about fort Vespasianus lived in and legion which declared among first for him during civil war :) not to talk about his role in Mid east :) ....so PC...... but again might be just foreign visitor or not that scarf at all ;) but funny and in 2018...

interesting is also as i always say small details and since i mentioned subject of kids, "women family planning", "social tendencies" etc. and i noticed it long ago.... namely, if we take our last 3 (George aside as last) significant rulers of meds there was only one kid among 3 of them. Dushan, while there are some totally wrong sources and mentions of some daughters rejected by many and me, officially maybe had just one kid and son. His son Urosh, last emperor, was of no known issue i.e. kids. Then there was some "interregnum" (with Lazar making himslef as most important lord in some northern way, but let's skip him as he had no crown maybe) and then Stefan L. ruled few decades and was without kids.... (nor his brothers who died or killed earlier, guess no).... while we do not have clear picture of health issues of Urosh and Lazar (both were capable physically though) and maybe some infertility on either side and while all 3 died (in today terms) relatively young, Stefan maybe longest living - surely interesting thing to notice and share as some trend or habit of our rulers in crucial times.... (George B as said was last important and had 4+ kids, but for subject those 3)

maybe even some personal statements, but it is span of 90 years and 3 rulers with just one kid, interpret it as you wish or take whatever from it as info, as said i noticed long ago so also as some semi-subject by me.... obviously, one way of ineterpretation is some specific look at women and family, while all 3 were relatively (for times) sane and almost progressive men... or maybe not so big sense of "self importance" as we think etc etc. many interpretations..... as said many subjects on my loved themes, always pick some and join with some observation, if not again hope that i shared many interesting things, maybe novelties to you, my Jaquinta.......

...and so on, i'm finished, but awaiting you always Jaki-laki and hope you join us in the glorious pub... since birthday of Jesus is nearing - I of course would rather die than ever abandon Kesar's calendar :) so you respect that - i'll at this moment send my greetings and repeat that trial, due legal process was fair and open to public :) ...and looked like rebel, so we didn't know. of course later we changed our mind and condemned Diocletianus as known etc etc.... so hope that is clear forever, enjoy holidays, visit some street markets hopefully etc. fair trial, Roman law

really is my second passion, like to talk it, was long since i shared some theme and there are many.... so instead something new to offer also something i concluded or put as theory or own interpretation.... as you know both IV Flavia Felix (ex Macedonica IV) and VII Claudia, are related in some way with Vespasianus and are our for majority of empire, stationed closely and shared detachments ocassionally. So long time ago as theory, who likes Roman themes i said that in fact maybe Vespasianus, contrary to dominant opinion based on what? except some semi-fairy tales i.e. sources, maybe did not "punish" legio Macedonica (then his by every sense) and as he transfered cadre to Felix anyway.... IV Macedonica (although true that initially was in camp against him during civil war just as it was in Germania) was namely very iconic and very much related to previous Julio-Claudian dynasty, even rise and destiny of Augustanus himself as known... so in Vespasianus mind was, theory, maybe idea that as starter of new dynasty "hijack" and reform, even upgrade that iconic legion, "award" it with own name and by deleting previous Claudian symbol (i.e. Kesarian) and by renaming it, deleting Macedon from it.... generally you understand my notion behind theory sono need to waste many words. Not impossible and beleive me, we know what we are talking about, both were our, closely related.... Felix wasn't moved to Singidunum (known as Taurunum in Germany and Batavia)) during Vespasianus btw, one of his sons moved it few years later and both were main instruments in Dacian war and conquest etc. while Claudia was around for decades, also iconic in a way & hardcore Kesarian.... to repeat and summ also, at peak our medieval rulers (2 emperors) and few families, had lions as symbol, along aquilas etc. but lion is shared with something Vespasianus generally imagined... lovely, how not to be, hope my theory has sense even to you "die hard" experts of not knowing what you talk about :)

enjoy..... dount there will be new story until.......... tomorrow :lol (or never) two passions, calculating i have something to offer there....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legio_IV_Macedonica

btw, surprised that so trusted and serious :) source, used for doctorates still maintains such page on such important subject :) ....there are many inconsistent things as claim that it ever took part in any Syrian or middle east campaign under Corbulo esp. as his personal page doesn't mention it under his command mentioning III Gallica, VI Ferrata, and X Fretensis, in time of question predating civil war legion was surely in Germania, although he seved before in region etc etc. to me hardly but what i like in article is that number and linked footnote stands and mention "Tacticus" as source :lol to me, one of the funniest in many Wiki pearls, but lovable source Wikipedia, many laughs from ancient to modern themes.... generally most iconic legion, article also continues about "its" history after formation of Felix as it is same, what i generally support and unlike Felix page claims something i also support or is maybe controversial or give it enigmatic touch - that it maybe "disappeared from history" during 300s c :yes (Dio-us times) last seen maybe in London (coins) etc. Generally good choice for some pop-culture, and it was our and hope one day maybe even some movie could be made about some "general" from it during Aurelius for example, victim of treason by his son and something like that - generally i have concept but still have to work on details of story.... ;

almost scary how many details from our meds actually fit some geography and even personalities and their symbolism from ancient Roman times, beside all already mentioned to repeat how our king Miluten made almost chirurgical move against Kavala, which some theorize maybe captured Michael 8 Paleologos etc. It was once (i said indeed, but to repeat as this is my most mature thread so far) place where Cassius and Brutus gathered legions before Philippi battle, not far from it - and almost like Roman history that action decided history of our times making it power above Byzant, but of course our was much shorter lived and less significant for world history but had potential to go above ).... mentioning it and for some smiles, thanks to Wiki page on Kavala i learnt some detail that is good for jokes and funny.... it has some monument to Mohamad Ali so from Cassius to Ali, funny :) (it is btw some Albanian-Egyprian figure from newer history i do not follow that much, but funny nontheless, it is instant "witz" material but did not visit Kavala last 20 years to use it)

to conclude also and always say, knowledge of Roman history is helpful and desirable for some medieval subjects, esp. at places like our where it is all interconnected and could give some answers..... total is misconception and a bit of later "fake" that "Roman" should be connected/hijacked by "Roman catholic" and that our figures did not know, relate clearly nor find inspiration in Roman history, as explained. makes it even more fun, with some relaxation think we can reach some more truthful answers and connections that evaded us for centuries ;.... it was things like capture of Durazzo, action at Kavala, reign over Macedon & constant fight with Louis over Singidunum and Viminatium among else that (beside Naissus for longer) gave some sense... i you get why Palman and his troop wasn't "accident" it was plan and order etc etc.

really that much generally, wanted our readers to get clear picture, make our meds closer also to those not knowing stories worth knowing i'd say etc, and understand though i clearly repeated some things... but it is all history i always say to people look infront and above.... you see that shiny tiny thing? It is Uranus and we gonna take it! :) ...seriously (overused it already)) always say something fascinating on older themes that i could explain you maybe or you wonder... )

13 wives, wow! ...there was sense to convert :) and very modern, can only imagine the size of orgy... (we) Romans (in ancient times not meds when we refused sex as explained, except George of course, very influenced by Greek surroundings)) were quasi known for it, but of course it is more eastern tradition & why it never was some our characteristics as we are possibly western tribe :)

anyway, one map for our readers... (it put Serdica is important hehe) linguistic very interesting but slippery field and still many unkonwns. could explain some things i talked about and how many forms we used developed directly from Latin (or Vulgar Latin like "kurva", "...ti mater" etc) and not directly from Greek at all, although Latin itself was "Greek-Etruscan influenced" heavily etc, soa bit of closed circle to say so... strangely, and i said so some forms in Serbo-Croat (esp. ekavian) are not some "colloquailisms" or "vulgarisms" or "sermo plebeus or sermo vulgaris" as Romans themselves said (obviously like many Latin words, reminds also to serbo-anything, as we are so important to them and their psyche)) and in the contrary in many/few cases has more similarities with direct or formal Latin, from words to some grammaticalthings, declinations, case changes etc etc. Which is enigma, Italians in majority maybe never used it.... but we went through it, generallymaybe imperial cities and legions of "higher class" Italics i.e. Romans etc. Wherever they are from Serbs kept it....

i don't give some huge importance to every ascpect of linguistics in sense that i said that many proposed solutions are wrong or speculative, but generally on given theme is interesting, but as said mapfpr our readers from far away to see that Danubian bassin and majority of Serbia today was "heavily Latinized" i.e. as said on map influenced, some forms are different from Romanian, some very much from Bulgarian, Albanian and Greek - but have some fascinating Latin (vulgar and high) characteristics and word forms, cases etc and gramatic changes (not so important but also that small characterisitc that give names to locations with -ica ending etc).... even medieval language can give some answers as it was often influenced by the outside and some eastern forms (via church-Slavonics) and b) like in case of Latin, probably not used by all so enigmas remain.... very deep, huge theme and desrves case by case and word by word go-through, that's impossible but to give some short or simplified rounding again.... mast but not least, again, Etruscan-like forms as well.... it was surely not influence of later centuries, Venetian coast etc, as they are not present or minor in Italian

in practice or consequence - to say also this for end - based on it and our later, true, mediveal history and ties (again with "Roman nobility" as well) later divides of Roman empire were very wrong (although again it was divided many times before that, republican times, "liberators" VS "Kesarians", Augustanus vs Antonianus etc etc so hardly first divides) to put some artificial or quasi divide line in other places, river Drinus etc etc... and why maybe Dicletianus is kinda of divisive figure and somone who touched some "conventions" in unconventional way, changed Balkans in some own favorable way, against the will of "Moesian superior outposts and elites" etc etc. if you get it..... religious divides are of much later date, not even talking about them and more consequence of strengthened Byzantine empireand its border that reached Danube etc. but true origin of some "disagreement" and maybe "disappearance" of some legions more "latin" like Flavia Felix IV versus so called Macedonica V which served Byzant much much later and was stationed more eastern and gradually lost its old tie (and wasn't formed by Caesar nor had Flavian "touch" etc)...... generally interesting and deep subjects if unimportant, but historically yes at least for us if no one else, and why so easily and with haste accepted any tie from Lombards, Normans to Vinegia and France & why they approached us among first also, despite religious differences.... almost like there was notion "those are Serbs after all, they will act against Byzant" etc.... unimportant and unreligious question (as said i'm fanatical Kesar as pontifex maximus and calendae builder fan, so a bit cool that our pontifex max is not abandoning him) but map could have been different based on this.

also one thing to mention, i did not say before till the end - when you know some ancient Roman history and some name forms in Roman history (mentioned Corbulo etc) and while we said that Dandolo's were not "old Venetian" considered even by them - it has sense to say that Dandolo family originates from some more southern region of Italy (or central) due to form, even other... (even further but in very old sense, as many Latins).... but no rule there maybe and leave that to Italians, but often older Venetian families and even names of some dogos as i said often showed characteristics of "ikavianism" (Mikiel etc versus very ekavian EEEnriko) and some -sini forms in last names, in contast to them, but generally as Venice grew names changed as well, but maybe some earlier middle ages considered, when they still chased 3 tribute pigs accross the "piaca", while we used some strange ekavian Latin, and wrote books :) .... so why they acted in coop with us among others, theoretically as non-genuinely Vinegian and maybe more "Roman or Latin" and why Venice often found herself in trouble with Rome etc.... so again our royalty is specific in sense that it combined in same generation pricipessa from Romans and Dandolos as well (and papal and dogal family as well then) maybe of closer origin than thought, other Venetians having some linguistical differences from Latin as well...... to say, last while always many topics and way to look at them, "ikavianism" could be connected even with neo-Greek as talked, in contrast to more used classical Greek and Latin... not to now even tire myself and go too complex as i already lose vocabulary to concise explain ; hope you get my explain of Dandolo name, considering some Roman nicks or names etc and some differentials in Vinegian names, but it changed in later meds so no strict divide.... their, our Nemanjich (just branch of older elites) and even Franciscan rise is paralel and in same times roughly - just first 2 fell and disappeared much before these last due to their special relation to sex and family :) so they are still present..... many subjects, no time nor will but i indeed mentioned questionable origin of Dandolos before, today accepted as our agents, but never told wider linguistical picture and Roman nicks (who never got in touch with old Rome btw) while old Venice could have been more "ikavian" initially etc etc...... so now you know all.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09qVIB4QEF8

for some multimedia feel.... i know, we might be "Gulash" above all, so my heart breaks for our naked and dishonored chief (( ...but we Romanized, reformed that insignificant village on Apenines (( and lost our soul and are bastards...... but yes, if you looked at legio Macedonica page ending "-ga" is of Celtic type, so very much logic and chance that we kept their word and title all to the end, as junior one but important, close to ruler and until end (sluga, which is also something present in English).... we share even relation to sex and size with them :) (what's left of them) but not political views as they are so isolated in northern areas and have diff ideals than we ) but when we go wild, we always reach southern Greece :yes :) (Branus and Bodin might be further addition to all)... lovely all, sorry for themes in times when it is all about Jesus, but generally best time to round some things in educational way while i'm on them :yes ...of course, we and Jesus, despite conviction and quasi death have special relations and respect so no trouble there and he said "forgive them and give them another cheek" :) (or chick?).... happy birthday and new year, our is empire of heavens..........

a bit more for ancient orgy lovers, and again about the tribe that shares the name most similar to us of all of Europe history.... from some docs i saved and sometimes find on some stocks, here more about numismatics but historical fact or two as well.... (so not my words in bold)

The Serdi were a Celtic tribe inhabiting Thrace, around modern Sofia, Bulgaria, the Roman Serdica. They probably established themselves in this area during the Celtic migrations at the end of the 4th century B.C. There is, however, no literary evidence for their existence before the 1st century B.C. The Serdi were gradually Thracianized over the centuries but retained their Celtic character to a late date in the Roman period.

The mid-fourth century B.C. saw the flow of the Celtic incursions down the Danube River. The pressure of the advancing Celts caused the Thracian Triballi to push on to the Macedonian frontiers. Alexander the Great, just crowned king in the spring of 335, crossed the Haemus Mountains and the Danube, pursuing and finally defeating the Triballi. The Celts, impressed by the young ruler, sent a delegation to swear allegiance to him. The oath they swore to Alexander was still used by the Irish Celts same 1000 years later: ''We will keep faith unless the sky fall and crush us, or the earth open and swallow us or the sea rise and overwhelm us."

The Celtic tribes of the third century B.C. had established their domain all along the Danube River from its sources down to the Danubian Delta on the Black Sea. Rather than forming a distinct and recognizable over-class, they tended to assimilate and blend with their conquered foes. The eastern Danubian Celts would copy the primary coin of the region that they controlled. The Larissa drachm with facing bust of Larissa and standing horse reverse was copied north of Thessaly. The coinage of Philip and Alexander was a popular design used especially north of Macedonia. The Celtic kingdom of Tylis copied Alexander tetradrachms and drachms for two generations, from 275 to 225 B.C. Along the coast of the Black Sea, the Thasos tetradrachm was subject to Celtic copies. Most of these coins were copied in silver.

Celtic power and influence were strong in Thrace and Dacia during the second and first centuries B.C. (the middle La Tene period) Celts served as mercenaries on both sides of the struggles between the Macedonian kings. during the Mithradatic Wars, and later against Rome in the Macedonian Wars.

The nature of Celtic coinage is imitative, copying the coins of tile nearby region. The bronze and potin coinage of the first century B.C. in Gaul has been extensively researched. But little work has been published on the small change markets of the eastern Danubian region during the second and first centuries B.C.

A series of coins was struck in the Serdi region of Moesia, ranging from the Danube down to the Macedonian border all along the rivers Oeseus and Strymon to the western part of the Haemus Mountains, an area which is now western Bulgaria. This coin type, in the Celtic tradition, was copied after the rare Konion Macedonian issue struck after 187 B.C. The Macedonian bronze coin has an obverse showing the head of the river-god Strymon right, wreathed in corn. The reverse has a trident with dolphins between the prongs. The choice of this issue is appropriate to the Celts as the river Strymon runs through the Serdi region. These coins were certainly official Celtic issues due to the various overstrikes found on coins of Pella, Thessalonica and Amphipolis, all struck after 187 B.C. This obviously dates the Serdi Celtic copies to after 187 B.C. Of the 88 coins studied here, all were randomly found in Southwestern Bulgaria, placing the coining area in the Serdi region.

etc. etc.... so they (Serdii) usually struck imitative coins of Macedon region, dominating symbolism on them being as said Greek deity Strymon (coresponding to our/Macedon/Bulgar/Vulgar hehe name "Struma" in region) and his trident... so trident is symbol that was dominating, i say again..... and is something some east Slavic tribes used as "their symbol" etc. all generally interesting, lots of copying and mixtures - but we share the name most similar to ancient Celtic one, some titles on court, and in the end in that "card deal" that was history ended with symbolism of aquilas (mutated) and four Roman letters "SPQR" i.e. "SSSS" as some symbols, others taken tridents, some others lions - as seen all related to us and our lands (as Felix i.e. Flavian symbol or some Macedon-Serdii one etc)..... to Bulgars also only one word: "return!" :lol ....incredible how much they all around they'd stolen from us, unpunished :p but what to do, we gained land to the Alps at least as compensation :p ...likable subjects and i repeat to our American readers (for example) that during middlea ages Byzantines themselves often related to us as "Triballi or Servi or etc" unsure of the nature of tribe, long gone times but fascinating details, added to our ties with Italian families (and Roman nobility again) ontop...so who was true "element" in it, we with such tribal name or you dear Bulgars is philosophical question :) but unimportant and only to true older history lovers, not politicants etcas said i like and know something so why not sharing if anyone has interest.... but generally i'm finished and no interest in this pub, but i tried my best and gave more than one interesting story..... always join if something to add

also few fun further facts about Nemanja "the Nemanio" Nemanjić Nemanide...we talked it, a bit of mysterious figure regarding 100% truth about origin etc. And of course we touched his new monument with raised sword etc :) ...since on it, to add that (originial) Nero statue - that later was changed to deity Sol but also Domitian who sent Flavia Felix to Singidunum btw ; - was about his size, actually Roman statue was bigger, but roughly 5, 6 meters more, less.... so, as it was built before the Arena i.e. Colosseum (that gave name to it) i.e. Falvian amphitheatre etc - we can conclude that it is only start and that in closer future, probably this century if we are true to our roots, we will see construction of another arena near Nemanja.... :lol

but seriously, what to add as amateur and somone always using own instincts and thinking in interpretations.... watched some Montenegro show (nationalistic and independistic one, not Serbo-one)) which touched among other things subject of Nemanja so what they had to tell on it... He is interesting for that state merely as somone who undoubtedly was born and raised in that state, and baptised as catholic in the begining. Show did not claim/mention his direct line i.e. descend from previous dynasties, nor Vukan nor Marko, borh relatives of Bodin... what is truth about it, and what not, but i said it is a bit unsure as historical fact in sense of his origin... btw, despite my jokes and things mentioned, some of his earlier biographers allegedly claimed that indeed his family is related to Roman emperor Valerius Licinianus Licinius (or Litinius. pr Lithi-)) no joke there... he was born BTW - Licinianus not Nemanja :) - in Moesia superior (even after Diocletianus purges and all), was rival of Constantine and later executed by him... he also co-sponsored (as his ally initially) with Constantine Edict of Mediolanum... today known as Milan(o) which is also Serb word name and word, but that for another episode :)

so few interesting additional facts about our Nemanja and who was he really, really relative of Bodin's brothers or some newly strengthened line from mysterious "White Urosh" etc. to this day not 100% certain, but figure that started probably one of greatest medieval lines ;... and, repeat, as contemporary uniqueness man whose 2 sons married Italian and catholic princesses, one after his death indeed... third son was first Serb archbishop, died in Bulgaria and is often depicted in our churches with catholic symbolism, despite being closely related to starting of more sui iuris SOC.... as final, show also claims - which is also highly controversial and not 100% sure - that his son Stefan together with Anna Dandolo did get crown from pope, either Innocent III or Honorius III, depends when his and Ana's crowning did happen, maybe few years earlier than thought etc. Innocent was from family Nemanja's oldest son was married to probably (Conti did Segni), but Honorius from other Roman family - Savelli or Sabelli, similar to v & b dif in our tribe name... their rivalry and coop is famous with Orsini, Colonnasand others and as interestings they held a castle previously of Conti of Tusculum and had significant posessions in Sabina region - famous as place where we Romans raped them ;) ....turn it this way or that, interesting stories and one big "pornokratia" our Nemanides were related to, howcome and why unknown till today and even claimed Roman legacy.... hope you as always get some interesting facts out of it, but without doubt our rulers and state had some reknown and fame, maybe even power back in times, so declaration of empire wasn't coincidence maybe....

BUT there was not a word about Jaquinta in that show of their, must mention. Are you trying to say Montenegro that Nemanja wasn't related to Bodin's brothers at all, then even more repect to Jaquinta and stronger sense that she was just our agent that targeted only non-Nemanja relatives ;) ...never forget her, disappointed by silence on that historical figure from your side :) ....also must say how they mentioned how Nemanja "ruined many forts and cities" in Zeta/Dioclea after he took it :) (some great conquest not known to others), except Kotor ; (mainly catholic so Nemanja spared it))....and then they say that there were no archeological finds of any forts in Montenegro before Turks built some..... :lol (except Skadar and Kotor he did not ruin)) ...like to joke with Montenegro (as known great nation of 300 mils as their saying foes)) but as said not accepting all said by others and have own interpretations but always have "open ears" to say what others have to say, but in this sense show was valuable that we can't confirm Nemanja's origin, something we knew before and like claimed Roman heritage by Rascian rulers, also fits in some things etc.

reading further on some (usually talk from head then read later)) Savelli figures and details from Eng-wiki etc. Just to see do some things fit in my theories and proposed ties, so yes one detail among others that now and then Savelli allied themselves with Colonnas in Italy, often against Florentines etc. Notable example being during late XIV, time when Stefan L. matured here and taking some rule, and he was (I say) strong Colonna ally and supporter, together with probably Sigismund as both supported first ever Colonna pope being elected etc. so that fits regarding Honorius much, much earlier if you get it.... fun detail from wiki, it says that one Sav(b)elli and main Colonna (Giovanni then) tried coup in Rome riding at Capitol Hill and wiki links name with district of Washington :) ...really ambitious for the time but nice try :) that failed ;

also is interesting choice again of (co)emperor Licinius, if probable... to remind here before concluding one of many interesting subjects, he was man probably responsible for death of Diocletianus' wife, his daughter and many similar, so looks a bit like "avenger" in sense that Serb heritage often negatively looked at Dio, plus fits into questionable disappearance of Felix etc.... what i'm trying to say if you summ 2+2, generally whatever truth on some details, think that even this adds to unqestionable high knowledge of our elites about some Roman history in general, even what seemed as long forgotten and not so famous figures etc. And great knowledge of Latin and usage of words etc.... also is claimed (or questioned) that Licinius after all died "pagan", controversially said... I always say that through whole middle ages peak (our) we and Italians still preserved some form of animalism and even rebelious nature, even through names that remained usually in some relation to canines, so again interesting choice of figure by our (allegedly) Nemanjic dynasty, so kinda they also disappeared in similar way as "rebels" against both official branches and great fighters for women rights....... :)

that much really that much, hope again added something worth to true lovers of themes, we had more than cool history then having all from mysterious origins to theatrical falland death like rarely who oncontinent.... to repeat again as final thought, knowing Roman details and ties and relations among Italian families was refreshing and helpful :yes ....but despite me being finished, you always say something on it, hopefully from Latium, my Sabina....

so why - to say also this for "dumber" although it is obvious and hinted many times - was so important and urgent for our Nemanides to rush and strengthen Serbia orthodox church as state strengthened itself, even if we say that starter of dynasty and some members were initially catholics etc. I think it is clear but to repeat as reason is structural and different organisation of orthodox churches, as i talked...

reason was more (despite true that state spread ever more southeast towards "Greek lands" and Bulgarian and Ohrid "diocese" etc. so number of orthodox grew) but it was more paragmatic than any/many other in our history, wasn't spiritual nor religious, canononical etc that much.... so if you note structural differences, our smart rulers Nemanjics sensed and concluded that it gives them more space and "democratic tool" (instead of papal pornokratik)) to put church, important factor in times but not so dominant as thought and many European rulers often fought, pillaged and opposed religious figures, so to put church under their "dominion" i.e. to make it state church, national... then due to its autokephality and "sui iuris" status, unlike in catholicism, they have more freedom to shape politics and control positions within it, that is where "more democratic and independistic" orthodoxy gave them chance, if you get it..... very, very smart play by Nemanides all would agree, crowned by Dusianus urge to put ex-logothete first as archbishop and then patriarch, understandable without need to waste words....

pragmatic to the base, less spiritual and you gotta reaspect them, only true "romanisti" would know that....so we rule. so probably smart Nemanja knew and talked with others "i as catholic could not start great dynasty and conquer the world" :) so he taken more pragmatic approach that almost worked, but then Turks unplannedly came and ruined all fun... what to say except smart and knowledgeble, those were our Nemanides, while not shying from tying with Roman nobility in the process, respect and respect to those brave nobles that even in peak and all religious talks around still named their sons as "wolves" ;)

also to say, why was Licinius more appropriate than Constantine himself, to theorise.... well you can not mobilize nobility if you claim tie with man who took the Byzantium from Licinius and renamed it, so city bear his name and you have to have nobility able to "liberate" it again, so Constantine wsn't good choice... again smart move, exceptional dynasty i say always... best of all is that Italian tie

since it is modern to "apologize" for some older things, so Turks apologize for all their done (!) some popes apologized for fall of Constantinople (never!!)) etc. i use this chance to apologize to many Italians that were on our side and that we were not able to prevent frequent "saltings" of Palestrina :lol we call Preneste and troubles of Colonnas... simply we were tied and busy with other things :) but really feel sorry for them sometimes, glory to our "Sara"

to say, it would be for the end :) - to those following my stories and "revolutionary method" (relatively, but i'm not the only one knowing some details, but now you know them to but mind it is top secret and dangerous to spread around, so you hear it here and die with mouth shut)) to some historical themes but unable and unwilling to look often for themselves (or not interested enough except my posts).... that lone Colonna pope was even Conti di Segni by mother, so double "voice" by our rulers, lets put it this way if we know that it was near miss that our first queen could have been Conti etc. More interestingly, in some very distant and often not prised that much female line our Stefan L. and George B. both were probable relatives on that Conti side with that Colonna pope, as (unable to prove all in our case) they might have been related to Vukan's and Conti girl line, so one inetersting and rarely mentioned detail in addition to our alliance with Colonnas in general why Stefan (and George) could have rised (or their representatives) hand for that Colonna, Oddone i.e. Otto... small digresion, not so much "germanic" name as thought, though i do not know nor concretely looked at roots, as it is often used in pop-culture (and fam Italian comics) for Germans... Romans did have such name or nick, so could be Italian name after all ;...when it comes to quasi "Ottoman empire" and its starter, for us he is known as Osman so not really in question, but also not my field Turkish and orientalistic names etc, just mentioned as it "fell on my mind", but talked Otto in Italy

so gave another interesting detail of even far cousin of our rulers, not only Colonna like Sara:) ...he was far from perfect man, nor anything special but interesting background and "from our Roman faction". There were rarelly "perfect people" esp. on position and most of them we can find only on our court, esp. HIM :) ....anyway, also mentioned it and is also a bit revolutionary proposal and something to consider so to repeat now in very shortened way and as summary more than we have time to go through every detail.... behavior of George and quasi his unwillingness to coop in some actions before (which is mantra) could be also dated and related to troubles new papacy caused in Italy, after death of Stefan, Colonna and Sigismund especially... again Colonna family found itself on recieving end, passions went very high, Colonnas were ready to declare even republic in Rome, clash with Florentines and another famous "salting" of Prenestine areas ) ...was violent and eventful and again, repeat, that family found itself far from Papal positions and power structutes, on the contrary in clash... so that is short and very simplified picture of things in Italy and situation our George faced since some 1430s further. So for history lovers, could be added to reasons of his "protest and condemnation" not just some local things on Balkans with advancing Turks then etc. To put it this way, there was no Sigismund anymore and due to clashes in Italy, there was "no green light" anymore from Colonnas to George to cooperate fully etc. It is mentionable that some figures papacy sent to Belgrade as well were involved in "actions against Colonnas" as well, so maybe George had "double minds"..... i talked but it is something true fans of history should know or consider when looking at George B. He started with relative peace and even quasi prosperity in 1430, when de la Broquierre visited and said "country is prosperous and he richest of Europe" but soon found himself in chaos almost equal to one Colonnas again experienced :) (just without so much salt, but Turks were not roses as well))... interesting and considerable, we had tie probably from Nemanja till George, they tried their best we tried our best for them but things went otherwise - but they finished with palace in Rome and we with something in our "behind" :lol so not so bad for them ;... and price of salt had risen after every their action, it helped trade and science and arts :) ....glorey to Sara again, and thanks to Gabriele for helping me understand also this tie with his "hidden messages in poems"... it had to be hidden as it is secret and i warned you - from Templars to why is land in central Italy sometimes saltier than sea there, we did it with them.... and French, and Germans... the rest were just passive spectators in our play.... as said hope you consider this seriously and also as something probable, no jokes ever... lot to learn and enrich yourself there, only if you like themes and older history :yes join if can add.

so yes, checking this and that just to inform you as i know that you can't sleep without knowing, Wiki claims that name is "German" (and indeed it sounds as considering many even famous Germs with the name) but as i said some variant did exist in ancient Rome for centuries and through one family in generations... even gave one eraly emperor with "the name", which was defeated by Vitellius who in turn was crushed by our man Vespasianus etc. in so called "year of four emperors"... Wiki even claims Germanic roots Udo, Odo while in Italy name had similar non-germanic def form of Oddone or Ottone etc. So dubious, highly dubious like many linguistical things as i claimed many times... Otho or Otto, the emperor was not a single case again and such nick spread through generations repeat, so might be very old in Italy as some nick, surely predating V-VI-VII c when it was more recorded among Germans etc. Otho was sometimes known as "Marcus" (due to some grandfathers) but definitely not related to me :) and he was gay, together with Nero :) I'm from different gens, probably patrician and ultimately from Mars :)

anyway, here we come to another fun moment where Wiki gives me a lot of laughs and confusion, as i know some things.... namely it claims on one page that Otho origin is Etruscan, than on other that family is of Sabellic origin, which is something else and usually ment for (often) Sabines (pardon)) and Samnites, but usually not Etruscans, our people ; ....but indeed Wiki tries to explain claiming that family spread around (probably to Etruscan lands then as well or Tuscany as we say now Toscana etc) but a bit confusing per se.... maybe not so important but what i want to mention to you hungry of knowledge is that family might be of Salvia gens (Salvini today)) so it is old but a bit peasant family, plebian ; ...second ineresting element if not catched by yourself is that "Sabellic" term - obviously above mentioned family of first pope that crowned us (posibly but not surely) was connected to that name - Sabelli or Savelli, so ancient origin probable...... somehow the more i read sometimes about old Rome, the more i'm sure about my theory that indeed great part of Italians maybe held us Serbs as someone surely related to "Murus Servii" and ancient Rome, cool :yes esp. considering that v & b exchange was common and attested in many examples... i dont know why but we rule and it is so cool, maybe we created continental civilization (with Sabines of course)) without even knowing generally..... :lol somehow when you think about it, we do look more civilized than most on this continent :) ...as always hope you catched some nice deatils, and at least i cast doubt on "Otto and Oddone" origin, always be sceptical and mindful of proposed linguistical "solutions", many times very wrong.... do join.

like the subjects, esp. early history of Rome which was subject of my doctorate :) now almost 25 years ago, brings me back to time when i was young, bombs falling around :) and i reading few big Roman history books just to maturate etc.... but despite heavy books somehow was more romantic and almost less prone to mystakes and confusing data unlike with this modern tools, would be chaos if i used Wiki )

Servius Tullius one of kings of Rome, see there are realtively "newer data" on him, but still remains a bit legendry and unfactual time although he left both some material and legislative traces behind so he surely was historic figure and brilliant social criticizer and almost philosopher if some lines related to him are really his etc. How much important for us, who knows, but i like to boast he is our )...so newre thing i catched regarding him compared to some time with my big books etc. is that he is now often mention as son of one ruler of Latin town Corniculum who died during Roman conquest allegedly, not strictly Etruscan origin man etc. it is i think new or i mixed something or all is mixed, but think old story of "unknown Etruscan origin" of him is a bit changed, but generally not important maybe i just mixed something in head...

anyway, to say some fun facts... he is not related to famous and widespread Roman patrician gens Servilia, though Servillia is possibly derivate from some praenomen (first name) of Servius. Servilia is last name or gens or family and his was as seen Tullia. In that sense among most famous (and there were many not know so much) Roman figures that maybe (not sure but was claim) belonged to Servius gens or family might be Cicero, of course if you know his whole name... first fun fact. Second is that in anyway Servillia could be related to Servius or anything similar and considered "our gens" and patrician ;) but fun is that Rome had patrician gens Horatia :) (but it is BS) and looking something patrician gens Curtia (where derived name would be Curtius) :lol it is fun as it is similar to last name of current Kosano PM, Alban man :) ...so we 3 are all "historical" in old Rome, but interestingly unlike Alba and Hor(v)atia, only our Serb endonym is true and fits exonym and to Roman word so correct ; ...between humor, point is not to mix Servius and Servilia, though might be realted with similar name and us... further, for fun Servius is very rare name as first name in later history of Rome, almost noone bear it past our legendary king, usually it is said not to be mixed with another Latin word "servus", which wasn't (like Venetian "ciao") pejorative at all and was (as known) almost also Roman greeteng or "hello". but Servius as praenomen reminded rare... btw, for end fo fun - feminine form by all Latin rules of Servius is Servia :yes but also was rare among Roman girls, but many Servilias existed :yes

if i remember or catch some other fun or relatable fact, of course i'll say but generally think that is it considering presence of our tribal root in Roman world, of course not small at all nor ignorable, let alone Servius the king.... so it was old patrician family and i shared other thigs that changed or could be interesting in Latin/Roman word forms that 100% equalled name of our country for centuries... yeah, fast and last - gens Servillia had alleged subgenses or families of Ahala and Axillia, both esp. first forms of word Ala i.e. wings :yes ....and that one of Kesar's lovers was one Servilia - the mother of noone else than Brutus himself :) He (Brutus) also had and sometimes used name "Servilius Cepio Brutus" due to some adoptive father etc. (or other realtive) but he was not from Servilia, was of course Iunius.... that much hope you understood my maybe not ever understendable in English explains, if you like subjects like me... of course in this post we tried to put some further light on origins of Serb or Serv name mainly, but hope i even closely presented some Roman facts right ) ...join me from Latium to make something revolutionary (and some little Servius....and Quintus...and Kaius etc))) ...shame i collected no memebers from Italy, but hope somone from thre maybe read some of it, would be helpful but over now......

...i said "there were others not known so much" :) and only true fans (mainly British) of theatre and film (even their) would know what i meant :) so yes in some pop-culture sense why not to say, Gerard Butler was also Tullius, from Servius family... while Ralph film at least gained some cult stautus due to cast, never intended to make millions as structure is drama and language as well etc so it was small project for which we as true Servilians engaged whole army and tanks :) but nonetheless, wasn't fiasco, more higher culture...)

anyway, back to historical subjects, so that guy as well... generally Tullia significant family just by two names from previous post as well as Servilia....it remains just that small "ahhh" of minor disappointment as Romans changed "in last second" name of that gens and should have been Servia.... generally super, couldn't be better for our fame (but nonetheless nobody knows us anyway, esp. not in America)) and most seriously i consider that now in 21st century is time to at least we all start accepting that in medieval Italy reasons for our ties may lie in it... generally, i always say that Brits knew some things, "flirted" with our Roman tie (as well as we did from look of parliament building to horse statue etc etc) and many things. but why not saying some things more openly etc... does it matter that much but simply small fact that there is no existing country in the world whose name is so deeply rooted in Latin and various spoken forms as our, as minor thing but could explain some medieval and even XX c things.... it is almost cute that our and Italian quasi rivalry (as we are almost mutual concubines) almost led others to copy us unsuccessfully...) ...i think those are lovable stories, wanted to say who i aimed at due to inetersting drama :) but also why not to summarize some things... and i will whisper something to Ralphs ear - the film was aired on Italian state TV! :lol (right after pornokratik show)) lovely.

anyway, take my offer for little Servius serviously :) ....kiss

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ojiOmjtkgM if you want more epic videos in glory of our first king's relative...

of course not to contradict myself and as probably you miladies do not know by yourself, name given in film (and in Shakespeare and Plutarka)) is wrong i.e. probable family name and cognomen (nickname) or some invention althogether, his name should be indeed Attius Tullius, in line with what i told before i.e. his family is Servius'... it is a bit confusing, actually not "a bit" it is very, due to presence of so many small tribes and settlements, if something hasn't changed there was not even consensus on which of them constituted original Latin ones.... and besides other part of confusion is that many wrong claims are often based on literar "sources", not really trustable or illogical etc. Worst of all i guess for younger generations is bloody Tacticus :) hehe, slap you... after all, as seen on example of Servius in some sense, if he was son of Latin town ruler he was Latin, if relative was leader of Volscians (as Butler) that's something else and similar things, not to bring Etruscans back in formula and so on.... while Volsci were closely related and lived in really microspace which is almost Rome today etc. somehow, if I could help on personally lovely subject of Servius - i belong to those who are closer to Latin origin of gens Tullia due to some reasons now, old presence of consulship in it and kingship, after some more reading but not too much as it is semi-legendary period of non legendary figure ;) ...hence, personally do not think there is some truth in Etruscan legends of him, nor he was from there indeed, nor in quasi stories of his ascend, accusations of "slave origin" and conspirations "by female" etc. since many of "accusations" were brought by his daughter :) and Tarquinius Superbus etc etc. you get it where i stand..... also name Servius was also relatively present in Rome of the time so one of the man and also consul who took part in overthrow of monarchy, Servius was sixt and Superbus, nick, last - was also Servius, generally could be said it was present name among higher classes and original patricians of Rome, only later fell out of use but i speculate maybe not because of "slave" meaning but because of "servus" being commonly used as greeting among Romans, "protect" for example.... all said to help my fellow "romanisti" and where i stand now - Latin probably, which doesn't exclude presence in Antium on other basis... but how can we all prove it, but i reject both legends about Servius, other than maybe being from other Latin town. Due to his "nice rule" and assasination, might be that Etruscans and others claimed him..... Augustanus was of some Volsci maybe, but to me it was Latin gens Tullia, as well as Iunia and Servilia, while maybe not from Rome of village size then

[thinking hard about some subject]....and that would be it :) ...who says Shakespeare never wrote about us :) ...always join from there principessa and lets see how you think - and hope i helped you, it is our duty as Servians, who else if not we to finally solve that mystery ; ...lovely.

since i already joked, lets throw this story as well, generally most famous "Curtius" was from legendary period and even life of Romulus himself, one Curtius, Mettius was champion of Sabine forces and in "one-on-one" (it was allegedly our Serb tradition all up to XIX c) battle engaged our Roman champion and fighter Hostus in clash following "rape of Sabine woman", and quasi slain him... but then Romulus mobilised his elite troops (from Tulia and Servilia gentes) and defeated Curtius... place of the clash was today Forum Romanum area, just to picture which microcosmoses we are talking about :) but lovely story. of course we did not rape them they just came to us by themselves, hating Sabine men )..... think that even some modern legends are rooted in view of Romans as rapists so it was convinient use on us, together with Byzantine stories of our rulers liking "young girls" it was so old and spread scheme ; ...in many instances we fell on own "anti" agenda, of course half Serb half Italian king of our, wasn't father with 8 years old French girl and similar..... as seen not shying of any subject so take it as "myth busting" or open talk

it is, to say also shame that we accepted (maybe from Bulgars i think) general exonym "Rim" for Rome as it should have been "Ruma" as i think our, there is even town we call that way and is generally one of Italic used names and is our root as said used even for Romania, but also many mountains and such, just attesting that "Ruma" was our initial name for it... of course later in meds we also used name "Romea" for Byzant and so on...

kiss you Italy, Anna was 28 as Enrico lived at least 120 years :) di Segni princess almost 30 and Elena Gattilusio well over 40 :) and Stefan disliked her for being much older than himself :) do join us for some mutual slap....

...and - all for open talk and honesty - i'd say if we are to concentrate on that subject alone, there are almost few nations that were raped and stolen from more than Italians and we, if we take some history as continuity indeed... no need to waste words about us as all is known, but again you could only imagine what happened to Italics since some V century onwards and who entered them :) ....for end, such things happened from same accusers how we are this or that, like in our case historically ;

ironically or not - and is mystery i hope less much after my posts - one of the first (and best in some volume) tribes Italians tied with in meds, after all that they experienced after the fall - was our... and in that sense you can interpret (for minor example) even that book where they placed us high and among first as someone tied with them, and why their authors often said "our" for our things and similar... so touching haha :) ....guess bigest minus in historical continuum in our eyes is that shielding of Croat ultras or ustashe during that time (so we shielded Bulgars for long time and formed their legions before, imagine)) but once they realized some things they disliked Croats even more :) ........since there small digress - you know what is always most unusual for history lovers (and i honestly do not like modern history for example) it is when you look at some old XIX or early XX c pictures of Serb irregulars or "commandos" and often original texts on photos go "ustashe of this and that Serb commander" :) so it was common name used for our fighters in XIX and start of XX ; bit ironical or fun fact if you did not know

but Italy is "buci-buci", kissable and slappable :) slap your little "boot"....Jaquinta, Anna, unknown Conti cutie that was "greatgrandgreatgrand etc" mother of many nobles in XIV (except HIM and main line) etc. is great, then it comes Servia (as should have been) as one of main gentes for 1000 years of orgy ) and similar........btw, of some future Shakespeare is outthere and you want some theme for tragedy from me, as said consider Jaquinta as it has it all - and true tragic ending, can you imagine in horrible Byzantine jail-kelia, with their famous rapists around................ :)

for end, as seen always many inspiration and some monor facts on subjects - but for Roman history end, emperor Galba was among last that revived "Servius" name, he was later killed by Otho forces etc. Vespasianus prevailed.... not sure if he was really realted to main line of Servilia gens, maybe some branch of it and surely had old family of reknown, but mainly saying this as to theory why name Servius fell out of use in classical period... maybe some "sacral respect" as surely one of such family and even shortly emperor would not take name that meant "slave" for most of Romans and even all slave/gladiator rebellions, must be my theory.... mentioning so called "Servile wars" think totally wrong name in Roman practice, ironically few/many Roman legion legates and military tribunes during wars were named Servilus ;.... really for end, as seen endless themes who likes - Wiki wrongly linked wife of one figure and later consul but also governor of Macedon (where Servia town is, wink) and who fought Scordiscii (tribe that founded Singidunum) extensivelly, as Servilia... actually it was wife of his son Marcus Livius Drusus, whose son or adoptive son had daughter Livia, wife of Augustanus ; ....could be said Servilii or Servii as should have been all around important figures of Rome from Romulanus to before and early empire, such orgy :) ....we rule. But like that story of connection of region where Servia is in Greece to family of many Servilias etc. no direct link, so it was named after us and Porfirogenitos was right :) i'm ended, but always expecting you and some slap from there, not so important at all and I'm solving these Roman and Servian mysteries like i have them in my liitle finger :) but maybe you read something and lover..... i'm ended for long ;

let's talk more about those phenomenal girls, for end.... but really short maximally. there shouldn't be generalisations of type, but despite our "male fantasies" and some ideas and (if lovers of themes) probable mental depictions we have (so my idea of Ana with mask, then another and then most beautiful queen etc with lovers) about this or that figure, one thing we should all mind is that they were often accompanied with own "bodygards" or profi soldiers and surelly not so weak or vulnerable in some sense, everyone knows that but just to repeat not to give some picture of "slappable cuties" :) not only due to position but also probably they never came alone, maybe Italian ones had company of Italian soldiers etc. Not sure for every figure, but in concrete for Anna it is known that Venetians came, and so on, French princess, maybe Jaquinta... anyway after long prologue, some point and what is helpful to me - Jaquinta story is short in some historical details, but action packed :) but even such short story gives some few noticeable details... of course about own force she had, but also that it is not so untrue that queens maybe had some lovers (maybe younger) or "favorites" so I like detail when it is said "how she was enraged after her fav was killed during attack on Ragusa etc" demanding heads rolling etc... so i think it is also not complete fantasy, probably same thing with Dandolina etc :) ....generally it is, again in some fantasy way, combo i like - not easy ones nor vulnerable for sure, but not "stones" nor loyal in every sense, nor without some probable "sexiness" if you get it... see that some "Anglo-Sexon" female author wrote a book, some semi fantasy, about her, i did not read anyway but interesting how he approached it if i am to ever look, and obviously is story, and is good start ;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ojpEYLaiqU

to help you with your fantasies... with this music goes scenes of her cries from Byzantine jail, she all in rags etc. and then me :) in best armor and some "horny alae" on helmet, and with just small company of 3-4 knights, climbing and descending Constant walls and laying bodies around :) come to her rescue and liberate her.... for happy end, after we go home she says "what this Servilian wants, probably throne!" .....and she castrates me :lol ....so you can make happy end drama out of it :)

lovely subjects aren't they when we look at them from such angles our history is cooler and sexy.... and again granddaughter of man Popes till this day fall on their knees apologetically :) our queen. so sexy, do not know better word... give some your heroine or story, principessa

further explain, incredible is that level of "tolerance" by our elites, nobles, almost to the extent that stories sound as imagination, but nobody from the outside doubted it... we are not talking some "talkable or verbally agressive or ambitious girls" but straightly violent or potentionally dangerous (like Anna)... what i'm trying to say if you can't comprehend yourself because not knowing details, i cannot comprehend it for other reasons....

even if we consider guards and soldiers around nothing few nobles could not surely crush and get them and queens.... but what is fascinating in Jaquinta's case is that she already was involved in violent acts (allegedly) and when that Vladimir took throne shortly or not, he knew very well that she was behind killings of persons that should be his uncle(s) and brothers from uncles etc. First thing. second he is poisoned and knows it (by story) and he even doubts her :) (why would he expell her) but he only "expells her from capital" :) and similar shocking tolerance reaching level of impossibility even in today world...

when it comes to Anna, despite picture of good queen (whatshe was of course and kiss) and lack of any stories about her in that sense, let's go to the time and ground there, reality - everyone knew that she is in Serbia as ex-queen and to see her son on throne, hopefully for her, despite he having half-bros that could outlive him etc. Yet, she is untouched, foreign and finally her son is indeed in clash for throne, taking it and everyone knows Anna supports him.... similar is story, for end, with French queen later, older half brother dethrones her husband, he maybe even has many nobles on his side (and she has son, both threats to them) but she stays, and soon enough is king forced to apolpgize to her and loses throne to her son :)

i don't know, really incredible stories, bordering strange or incredible chivalry par excellance etc... esp. Jaquinta story, something girls maybe do not notice right away thinking of another girl "in males world", but girl or boy you can't comprehend why that poisoned Vladimir at least did not "put her under guard" (not to say worse thing), or how two kings tolerate Anna, or Dragutin Helen etc. I'm fascinated, don't know about you miladies and how that sounds to normal brain, but is so incredible must underline and explain what are relations and how easily they could be "neutralized" considering forces disposition.... if we are looking for some logical explain, only thing coming to me is that it was not about "inside" but maybe it was seen that "if something bad happens to queens" somebody from the outside would react etc...but still poisoned king wouldn't care much about "foreign threat" if girl that poisoned him is near :) etc. whatever, fascinating and if it was totally apolitical, it is almost not normal... duying king (just like me there)) just "slaps her on boot" and say go out etc :) but i like it, that's we ..... def not normal dudes :)

hope you get it now and big kiss ;

worked whole night, thinking about Jaquinta, madly in love with her )....to finish whole set of ideas around her and story - while i repeat that whole story is just story and maybe she was little "buci-buci" that ended as victim.... btw, when i say "nobody from the outside dobted it" it is important to note that majority of sources about her are sometimes Byzantine (probably trying to exuse rape etc)) sometimes as seen "Anals of Bari" (sounds very Roman)) or some from near but not our that much, esp. not Rascian where again her son and probably her would gain shield and shelter, as in particular moment Rascia became main enemy of Byzant here, with warmer periods... so i'm trying to say that almost nothing in story about Jaquinta is our per se....

but from medievalist standpoint and if you like story but maybe not some "legal things", time and customs, to round it even there... unlike our queens i mentioned and compared situations with, and while we do not know extent of Anna and Helen (French) involvement that much - actually, violence aside, Jaquintas "case" or argument was stronger than those of later Rascian cuties... while (theoretically) they fought for their sons against half-brothers of same king so for some theoretical "own primacy" over older sons (as reigning queens of course in time of kings deaths), Jaquinta was more right as he fought for her recognition as also queen, but not against half brothers and certainly not against even fictional primogeniture violation, she fought for her legitimate sons (she was only Bodin's wife?) to continue line of their father, he fought against kings brothers, their sons etc.... so there is small difference if invisible or you did not catch from previous posts, so her argument stronger and maybe why Rascian rulers after all supported her son and reinstalled him later etc.... while i'd never say anything against Ana & Helen nor there is any record of violence on them etc. in some boring legal labyrinths previous "satanized" Jaki was with stronger argument, just to not miss this medievalistic fact

sometimes they say Nemanio blah-blah, but on the contrary he might be from line that supported Jaki's son, objective reasons shifted it to Rascia etc... but that's completely different and almost boring theme now, most important is that we at least got close to liberate Jaquinta 250 years later :) ...really hope someone got few good stories and nice facts, busted some myths and even solved Roman things they are diging for centuries to you, sometimes typing very tired so appreciate ;...join eventually, my themes are for girls only......... :)

out of boredom, interesting Korean (!) video about "Roman history" from foundation to late XV c.... IDK what is based on maybe some computer game :) but is cute...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRqSPoMfDtQ

glad that our fame reached as far as Koren peninsula ) but just another example how in just 20 mins (less) you can present many "not really correct deatils" ) from early periods till the fall etc. Were Dacians really dominating tribe before Roman (i.e. our) conquest here and "Antares" (Celtic tribe) the ones during fall to Romans is dubious, wasn't able to determine to this day from whom actually Romans, our fathers, took today Serbia from, in any case it weren't Illyrians and it later formed "Serbia...pardon Moesia superior" province, maybe some branch of Celts indeed.... but i cannot dislike that they included our later empire in video, but despite my best tries, using best glasses and monocluluses, i wasn't able to read what they wrote at 16:39 at some feudal area during our "defragmentation" :) ...should have been maybe some feud of Nikola Altomanović (Altomanus "the falschist" son) before Lazar and "Hardon" :) of Bosnia crushed him etc. but can't read as said... also like how they wrote "Brankovic" after, on lands they never held and so many cute but wrong details, they also put "crossed swords" onevery major battle in video (think Maritca is marked) but not (or i missed) on Kosovo battle which was surely one major one that seen death of sultan etc. (did it happen at all? or it is myth and old sultan died in harem)) - but considering it is Korean, plus from me :yes and my respect, you tried your best despite small mystakes... we rule, don't we.

BTW, again if you read only my posts and never check (or know)) anything yourself - another interesting detail i missed to mention but is "surely interesting" is that Servilia (or Servia as should have been, repeat)) as part of their "Sacra privata" i.e. family set of religious customs or rituals performed in gens or smaller families, custom of worshipping or "sacralizing" some sort of copper coin of older Rome, triens - actually much more bronze maybe, which is "legura" which is also our word from some older Italian rarely used in it, but used in our as many "latinisms" ;...but not topic now, this is super interesting though i personally know little about it related to Servilia and what rituals they performed with it

first to say i'm not big expert on modern religions or sacras (strangely sometimes know more about Roman customs than many modern) but of course this is namely "super interesting" as of course Serbs till today have some own "sacra privata" or semi-religious (more pagan as seen from where we have it, our fathers Romans)) custom called (slavicized due to dominating language later) "slava" - and for some :) it includes coins but mostly for other holidays like Christmas - they have similar custom (i.e. coin symbol) in Greece etc, but nothing to negates ancient origin present in Rome and later both christinised and slavicized etc. How i look at it as interesting, without touching/knowing modern religion, but "coin" symbol is present and "sacra privata" in Serbs more than any others, is usualy said..... when it comes to Romans "sacra privata" often (shortly and simplified said for readers) included family dinner, some sacrifice usually in food, but living animals were also sacrificed esp. earlier where Servia was stronger gens etc. and often pigs (which is disgusting custom in us, even Romans abandoned it in households, pig lover)). It also included presence of Roman priest invited by family etc etc. Sapienti sat and super intersting as many facts i presented - but most of all that it was Servilia of all with "sacra + coin" and we shrae tribal name with how they should have been called in fact ;) so conclude yourself, so many ties...

theoretically speaking might be that we maybe gained name from old Rome, maybe some connection with Greece like in Porfirogenitos notice as well, later due to Slavic majority and often (through Europe but commonly in Italy and Greece) mislplaced or "compatible" in writting it V transformed to B there was some confusion with German/Czech etc. tribe of different name origin, for example and theoretically, while our original name here originates from Rome... more than that shocking are so many ties and similar customs, many Roman words (again even not Italians not Greeks use)... generally unimportant, but theoretically, following some chain of events, after slow introduction of alpahbets from other parts, even parts of elites and population of non-slavic origin... language per se is not determoinant of any origin and as i said, for example, blacks of USA are surely not English though knowing only that language today etc etc. So tribe name origin and many population here might be of older origin, name per se from Rome, not to repeat now ) ....theoretically interesting and possible - shocking is as mentioned so many small details and connections, today lesson was "sacra privata and coin" present in Roman gens Servia and in us :) for other interestings see above if you just joined ;... (not to mention that we do not have much genetic material of Sexon Serbs, Poles etc) only for history lovers, consider another inetersting detail i noticed on Servilia particularly...slava Servilii! :) (but even more fun that "sacra privata" in Romans and us especially).... for end, it is said that Servia bronze coin went into "diminution" as once famousand maybe old patrician gens started to lose its status and was much less present later etc. super as always, already gave my apologiez for Christ :) all orgy and conquest - but baby "temple" for biggest church and "Roman well" after so many centuries sooo make perfect sense :) ....think about all, at least on super interesting level, for wider "Slavic speaking" countries ties and speculations about our origin are inetersting due to many words and some customs originating from us, Bulgars etc in some range from Singidunum and Viminatium to Serdica and southern into Macedon, but doesn't change that dominant language became Slavic, which on turn doesn't change Serbs or maybe Servs long ago originally having other tie and origin, as explained on example of blacks in US etc. to much words, think some fun facts are clear and noone is so dumb not to understnd my points by themselves :) ...always join if into some older mysteries, another just "busted" for you ; ....should have been another "Doeniken" myself not nobody but we all die eventually and finish as nothing, dust ;...but eventually and mostly my theories are much, much more fact based and even relatable than his :)

out of bore, some (minor) newer medieval themed game which i decided to check, with unusual approach etc. but not so much about it, few things for fun i instantly noticed upon entering campaign screen and options...

out of playable nations for "grand camp", well "Grand Serbia" (so cool name unmatching none)) is playable nation, so plus from me :) And in that sense we are only of all neighbors given the nation, and we have some 9-10 of them, mind :) Of course except Hungary... Grand camp starts in 1135 (Nemanja was around 20) and we even weren't still "officially recognized" in time so must be fame and glory that pushed us into choice :) even Bulgaria was denied :p etc.... but something else for fun, start of camp included "dipolmatic relations" of every choosable nation and "Grand Serbia" has good relations only with Hungary (which is historically correct for given moment) and "neutral" with all others, or below positive average etc.

there we come to many things i talked about or tried to understand, hence some "importance" of subjects which are more personal passion and hobby, than important in age when whole continent is more-less big banana anyway :) let alone our "Grandia" :) ...so ireally hope some people catched something fresh or at least intriguing, extent of which is rarely known or neglected or simply not documented enough to "refresh" some of our knowledge of era... in some way, no matter how unimportant for game, and paradoxically for many - "Grand Serbia" maybe should have started campaign in good or green relations with Venice, Norman southern Italy and maybe even Papal states etc. if you followed my posts, how it happened in true history is small enigma till today, but at least tried to talk subjects... almost to be queen soon enough was from Roman (and papal) nobility, ties with Normans explained and Venetians by story had great role in freeing Bodin few decades earlier and first queen was later Venetian etc. all repeat, but still to penetrate all our walls of "knowledge" considering relations in time when this entity "entered historical scene" (of course not if we take Roman history as our)) and even for minor things like games etc. so worth lessons i think and glad i shared on not so lively forum ;...it was "the boot" (really from Norman south to Lombard north) that "launched us out" among important regional players etc. and later skillful play of "ghibelline" side and with German entities, but first things first....

minor thing but considering some "geography" of the map, of course Venice did not controll those lands in such extent south of us, it was still some Dioclea or Byzant or chaos before Nemanja captured it - killing, raping and burning many along.... :lol Venice, again small lesson, while surely having some outposts from long before, strengthened in the area only after our fall, while reached some own growth and conquest paralel with our peak etc. etc..... again thumbs up to designers for including "Grandia" ) as playable, only we, Byzant and Vinegia got chance in region :) but minor thing that led me to repeat other things and where we could do more to improve knowledge of the era, while today important only for games and fans.... but talks like mine are not in vain, i hope who likses. so hopefully something catched for every reader, always say some own intrigue or thing not known/explained enough ;....game, again, per se not so important and minor with unusual mechanics and not fighting one, taken as just example to point some things - respect for including, could be done more with relations with papists and Italian states for HC :yes

(now, they say that playing with "Grand One" is not advisable for first run and is hard, but i'm looking forward to conquering that tiny map with it))

...and colors, did you check the colors of our flag - such shade of red and yellow is Roman colors!!..... :lol ....actually back then is unknown which CoA was in use but probably just some dude with raised hand for us ;) ..... :)

btw, and reason why i mainly noted this is (with all respect to dev/s) that game at start gives "Grand One" just few relations above or below average which is some 50 mark... so if you like details for fun, in our case best 3 relations, and only above 50, are Hungary (as said for 1135 very true) as best, Georgia (oh, Atalanta)) for unknown reason but surely they liked us back then we had many rulers named George :) and kingdom of Jerusalem, which is strangely true guess for devs :yes (not to mention that we are only having Baldovins very high...and one more empire beside))...one of the warmest indeed, "kingdom of heaven" and later we took and upgraded title to "empire of heaven".... but when it comes to worst 5 - it is Vinegia, Byzant (true, country we have only temporar "truce" with as noted by game), Papal states, "Holy Roman empire" (Germany) and Seljuks - in that order from worst.... IDK, nor important but you understand why i like those stories and how things twisted in times later if we even remotely take those as right, and they weren't. Actually among 5 worst 3 are of decent relations later and we took them queens (and of course we had Byzant queens but relations remained cold often, so 4 out of 5) or killed some just by our fame and looks (like Habsburg one which died of not being able to match such fame).... and Norman feuds should be high etc. if we are talking HC, again... btw, in game except "grand" they called us "nascent" and capitol is Prishtina :) should have been Ras still in that moment of start etc.

anyway, thumbs up, did not manage to find out more about developer, maybe sole person or just few, unknown from where, found just some studios with similar names in US but not that. but lovely...slap your back or kiss if you are girl dev, so smart and knowledgeable. for some reason i think it is girl-dev... only that small unknowns and details, but who knows really, guess that maybe used 1920s relations as base... :) ...while we should not mix 1135 with later, again must repeat why posts like mine are educational for lovers, hence whose queen was Dandola, whose rulers among only/few outside gained citizenship from Vinegia etc. ...so our emperor finished as only with citizenship of republic ), praised by Petrarca, as "firstborn of Christ" and as one whose throne was later inherited very highly - on heaven, all in same time... so i guess we reached game goals, even though they crushed me early :) .....declared war on Hungary btw :) they say always annex those with warmest relations first....romantic times and themes.

again nobody knows really relations of 1135 nor whole truth of who was whose player etc. at moment they've taken as start, so not some critique if you are reading (and of course Vinegia was still very much Byzantine "pupet" in 1135 etc) just wanted to point out some things to our readers and lovers of themes (and who fred Bodin from Antioch as small but important detail) not to be missed or overseen considering my subjects - known to Korea as seen above...... ; Generally we are still searching for answers on many topics continentally - imagine shock if it is found out how we were behind many things then :) Nit we made our doc's very flammable, eatable and very few "king's orders" (what is game's name) survived :) what is most important is that everything is so "grand" :yes ......but may i ask why "dark pink" is our map color? because if we are gonna be totally open and HC, back in time our knights prefered.......blah, blah :) like, "Grand one" how not to play? )

and finally to say also this - frustrated that i can't conquer continent with "Grand One" :) - seriously all said to make you more aware, educated and better person my dear :) is that very unusual and also on what based decision to make "Grand Serbia" population wise smallest out of some 36 playable nations?! :)

and mind all that game includes some really "tiny" feuds or entities - Wales, Scotland, Sardinia, French states, even that mentioned Georgia, Venice, other Italian states etc etc - smaller than us today.... we don't see much reasons (although initial "Rascia" was indeed much smaller than today country, making our feat, surival and enlargement and even empire declaration even greater), i mean any medievalist, to think that some states that are today smaller in population than us, were then bigger and even had much less destructive history... so generally no logic nor HC in presentation of country as so small and weak in pop, even Dioclean rulers pushed few offensives into Byzant before given time etc. and this was bigger feud maybe (without having numbers) not to mention claims that "our ruler was richest of Europe" near end state and also (surely untrue but still not sign of small country in pop) claims how some of our feudal lords raised huge armies, and even fantastic 80000 by HIM etc.

not even needed to go into details, but no historical basis to make "Grand One" so small in pop even if it is game... Venice for comparison is "weighted" at more than 5x more pop, and Byzant (of course many bigger then but level makes it hard to even imagine that we would even try to battle it) 5 milions versus "Granias" 120000 pop :) and so on, why would be Sardinia 2x bigger etc... lack of some well known towns still doesn't mean lack of pop, some of the towns were quite small then and some of our died out completely, depopulated or centers lost ; etc... so maybe one of the most incorrect things generally, but that's why we are all here, to correct them and the more we correct them better games are there ; and better persons out of you my dears..... guess they just wanted to make us smallest but toughest and most potent there, it was intent not HC or correct data :) so if you are real "MF-er" take "Grand Serbia" and make empire and conquer that map... :) ....but in any way, really must have been many paid mercs that even enabled siege of Thessaloniki, fall of other towns like Ser etc and idea of attack on Constant :yes but you get notion that "smallest of 30-40" wasn't surelly pop picture, but if it was in 1135, double hats off to Nemanides, really like some small elite Roman legion against masses :) ...lots to learn and discover there continentally, who likes subjects, hope i added to some clearings on themes....

mentioning Trump :) and seeing how some of IDK what kinds of various gun loving organisations (do not follow US politics that much)) put his face on some pics above Templar knight body :) and similar historical rapes, got one minor idea and something to add on subject (historical, not today political porn) on which i also "fluctuated" so much in previous threads not having clear picture myself....

namely, since this is my most serious, honestly best and final thread to say just for my readers, although not so important subject personally in sea of super inetresting ones considering era and mediavlists focuses.... after doing own detective work, investigations I of course made some personal conclusions so after going "up and down" on their topic, facts helped me make some conclusions one can agree with, but cannot nor obligation... so final idea is - despite my previous thoughts on money flows and even calling Hospitaler game "dirty" :) must now be open and honest with you as my definitive. Our king of the time, one of our central figures and victim (personally think) of many wrong interpretations, nicknamed "holy king" Miluten and one which launched country for short time sadly into power, overflowing even Italy with coins, speculative grandkid of French king Loius IX (also "holy") by unprovable theories unles something shocking ever connects etc etc. - was, my final word, 110% on French side, on Philip IV side, maybe even relative and in conntact with him and Clement de Goth :) So i have no doubt personally, as much as possible in lack of docs, that he was informed by French on "crackdown"against Templar order and maybe included own agents in actions. Definitively, dective work considered, king that was close to France of own time, asked Clement and French papacy even for military support to him etc. Somuchon Templar subject as my conclusions....

it was time when official Venice (often close to Templars) pushed own laws against him, but not whole Venice as, again, it is where "Sara" Colonna died etc so concludable is that Miluten was our king in history most in tie with offical France (of med times), most in tie with Avignon papacy and maybe some Colonna faction, why among other things Dante mentioned him with enigmatic rhymes maybe directed satirically at Venice (but not Dandolos) etc. That much, but some rounding from medievalist as personal impression and research on Templat theme and us.... unimportant theme, not so much for us though anything "crusader themed" was important for us then etc. Philip and Miluten had some maybe even idea (after our king solved problem of Michael VIII of Byzant) and again sure but undocumented touch, maybe even idea to "clear own names" by sending troops to Jerusalem and meet at same year - something in some small expedition way only Miluten did in year when Philip was quasi supposed to show there, finish.... however, on "honor" of surviving Templars much can be said and doubted... it is confirmed that many, after what they seen as attack by some kings and other orders, changed side and entered service of varoius islamic rulers in region... i made connection even with story that some French in service of sultan Murad against us among others might be scond or third generation of Templars that changed loyalties etc etc. Nothing spectacular there not my subject even though i researched a lot including financial centers in Italy, change in bankers and where Miluten's money mainly was directed (often papal controlled areas, but in time when Colonnas opted for French papacy, mind that forever, so none of our kings ever went against some imaginative Colonna stand) - but again some myth of "loyal and uncorrupted" fighters is just myth and they were very materialistic organisation etc.... last but not least, some say that they even preached against alcohol, and our knights were heavy drunkards so they got to go down :lol and Dusciano the HIM :) ......just ask Turks :) ....really think this is my final on theme for my medievalist fans, in a way clearing also own doubts. Think Miluten was smart king, one of central, different in many ways than HIM who is central for me ) and i can't go against his judgement nor have some personal Templar mythomania etc. but it is so pop culture subject :)

...AND they slept with Philip's wife. List of crimes goes on, many as seen... better not to know.

regarding what i discovered and what is concern of some Levant region, for dumber to draw ) - of defections of course i used just "btw" term "many" in sentence but those were individual cases, probably numbering hundreds stranded in region etc etc. So i didn't mean "many" in sense of majority just many (hundreds) in Levant, Mid east region - which surely could not move to for example Portugal or Spain or IDK where in moment so they entered services there etc. Rarely mentioned but factual even if not dominant maybe out of few thousand memebers etc. was talking region... however, spread of corruption, "nepotism" and more than realistic and phisical threat to European nobility and kings was more than dominant, though we can't say surely did they ever made any concrete threat etc. As said lovely subject, more pop and "tic-toc" one :) than really understandable for masses not knowing details and what was (for example) decided not only on courts, but also in various Florentine or Bolognese rooms etc.... hardly angels or saints in any way, esp. as a lot of profit was included in higher hierarchy etc.

mentioning "saint" those are not my matters but i recommended "Sara" long time ago, i can also freely add Philip IV in my ideas to pope.... sending email with hope it will go through known as sometimes slow Vatican pornokratia..... uh, i meant buerokratia! :)

....as much as Templars quasi reieved some strong "flak", unbased claims and maybe fact twisting (but i doubt)) equally true is that both Philip and Miluten recieved or went under their spread as well, even more maybe.... for dear relative Philip ) mostly is known, but our king maybe not so wide (though i talked) - he was quasi child abuser, he was "blinder" of own son, he was autocrat and usurper, some "Byzantist" etc etc. (while arresting re-emerger of it, employed Italians and sent finance there, talked to Frenchy papists etc etc making claims of him esp. funny)) - so as conclusion it was even.... could be said that stories about Miluten were spread not only by Byzantines, but also maybe revengeful Templars or Italians of other positions, while some loved him and (again) marked even graves with note that they served Miluten.... and so on, eternally fun subject due to pop-culture look at "Templar case" and indeed fact that soon enough in matter of decades (in our case 50 years later from Miluten's death) two dynasties (though not so much in French case due to connection of lines) ended, naturally.... if one can call Vukashin's multiple stabs as "natural death"..... :lol Templars curse, boooo

something else wanted to shortly add, but went wider than intended again.... in Dechanski case, surely not blinded by Miluten as HIM never mentions it and call Miluten "holy", i personally see maybe some use of "Enrico myth" if never said and not so important, of quasi blind ruler but "under some guidance from above or destiny" - it is interesting in sense if it was some "hint" that after Miluten's highly French influenced rule, Nemanides are gonna return "to roots" if we consider that Dandolo was also starting family of their line etc. as much as Nemanja.... so maybe more some efficient "propaganda tool" in way "French dominance ended" I'm now the true continuer etc - in any way, Dushan was unimpressed :) and fastly dealt with him :) ....however he ended as Vinegian citizen, as well as his son de jure and last of the house.... farfrom any interesting tone compared to previous theme and i'm mentioning just BTW as own interpret of fact that "blindness but providence" were common ingredients in Enrico and SU III story.... but he dared to accuse "holy" in process, maybe inciting some revolt in Dushan and nobility by it, beside other things like desire for some elevation etc...... those are all possibilities and "talking points" while our history remains enigmatic largely, however again Miluten finance is much clearer to me and tracable.... "turcopiles" often employed by Templars (and not unique in that sense as other orders did it as well as Byzant) but as last fun fact one of the battles during Miluten's rule (and few years after dissolution of Templars) was against rabaging "turcopiles" ;...no straight connection just fun fact, but his intervention spread against Turks, possibly in some elite troop down to Jerusalem.....

mre than lovely subject, almost proud when you look at our dids - conviction of Christ, Templars, Michael VIII etc .... :lol but seriously lovely and almost fun how we and French twice tried "own way" with 600 years inbeetwen.... luckily today we are just bananas....

also mentioned, but now when i submerged myself - just for short, due to Donald de Molai pics )), but subject is inetersting and could be said "concern" due to fact that our kingdom wasn't spectator in it - again into it, must repeat here that it is simply very big difference and something that can't just stand either way as is... even for remotely serious source like Wiki - think many know reason why some funny guys made "uncyclopedia" comic page once was funny but initial fun died out ; - simply is or-or and can't be as is... one page says that Clement declared crusade on Venice (but funny page also says some Jaques also did it to Miluten, which i can confirm never happened)) and allowance "they to be sold into slavery" while other page mentions just interdict and excommunication, and there is huge difference if for non-catholic pornokrat like me :) ....most seriously my warning and simply can't stand like that, how could be even possible and big minus from me.

Never had much dig into Vatican and Avignon archives and all there ) so i ask also some Italian as many questions did it go as far and why such line was included in wiki if untrue.... for example, out of many questions i had for there and mentioned... asking because i want to calculate how much translated in today dollars or euros Miluten earned by selling Costanza Morosini to French :) if we mind that he wasn't paid in falsificated dinars and all... seriously, if you know something say, i'm guessing that (among other things) it was after all "badass" attitude by our king even in some promile behind decision of Venetian interdict and possibly worse, but never went too harsh.... "badass" what else to say - you make some laws against me in your tiny town and I call the pope to make some laws against you :) ...but it was short lived clash, we and Vinegia are parents of Nemanides etc and pals then.... but message of the story was "do not mess with holy king" and later Franceso Dandolo, was known to even wear dog collar or chain around the neck for reasons above, remebered as Cane (not taking any credit for it per se, as Milutin was probably dead by thenas year is unspecified of when doge wear it)... he ruled in time when Dushan took the throne here etc. and Treviso (which had Miluten's supporters) came into Venetian republic etc.... again, generally if you know more on Clement level of actions against Venice let it be another quest, not expecting anything and moderately interested due to whole story and us.... big critique again to Wiki.

...also, for my serious readers as i made claim multiple times without explain :) - regarding "status of Jerusalem" in about time, something i mentioned few times - and will touch again just shortly - and regarding also mentioned de Molay i use Molai as "j and y" are later insertations in our lingva :) and maybe you know that story how he was mixed with some Mongol leader of similar name & and whole fame "in whose hands it was for some time" etc. Must say i'm undecided there and there is not enough evidence of either, but...

when it comes to us and something I mentioned few times - of course some huge army couldn't be present or any significant control as it would, despite lack of our sources what is the point isn't it in often ruining them beside war situation and fall ; as it would be surely be preserved in at least some mention around Europe... so instead of mythomania we should turn to some factual things in this way... we - i.e. Miluten - had some "deeper" contacts with Mongols, first thing and his son was at one of courts and he avoided any bigger attack etc. Even without that "diplomacy", there were some clashes of our troops in continental part, Asia Minor etc. Most interesting part is that in mentiones of foundation or revival as our then monastery of Holy Archangels it is mentioned that "it was also in gratitude to our great battle and win" and somehow logically it sounds too ambitious, "gratitude" to be in Jerusalem 100-200 meters from Sepultura if you can conclude for some skirmish in hundreds kilometars away part ;) ...third and last, would be very hard to start new monastery in such moment if at least some districts weren't under some control as situation was tense supposed rulers to grant us privilege then.... so everything is possible in that sense. Lastly and again Miluten is known as "holy king" for generally unknown reason, not enough just to say buildings or similar, or making it dominat power for example etc, and rare of our kings was called directly that in times and as siad Dushan called him etc. so it was nick of directly unknown origin... also lastly, unrelated to Miluten again, but Dushan, who ruled 10 years after him, did put claim to pope for some "capitain of christianity" title and some similar daring titles and managed, for unkonwn reasons, to attract many European knights on his side etc etc. so just some facts, without any solution.... site of monastery is today Jerusalem Greek patriarchate (think) property, for centuries, was also in some care and coop with Franciscans as well etc. so generally you can't see it marked ect, while guess if you ask Greeks would tell history of site etc ;)

again, claim that Miluten pushed to Jerusalem would surely be recorded, despite rare reporting, ruination of our sources and all, but what is possible that some troop did reach it after some "our big victory" and maybe Mongols or someone controlled it in times, shortly or longer, but not too long.... generally lack of mention about us, even by us :) is not rare nor anything strange, even things like Kosovo battle are from other later sources and similar, but were factual in unknown way of battle development, so details are mythical, battle iself not, but boring and known subject.... generally we had much less explained details and feats. Again, can't say anything about our military presence, but something did happened in years after Templar fall, we were involved and maybe some other shorter push while we maybe clared just path in Asia minor for short etc etc. if you get my point.... interesting if unimportant

generally, not talking about us at all just, as said there is some syndrome in continental history when some years could be doubted and events development as well, through whole era... personally that "holy king" title always bothered me, some respect and credit we consatantly had in the west (for what?) and just some figure rarely "slapped our butt" (for example wording in Pierre Thomas almost cautious)) and similar small details - but no unbased claims, as explained what is possibility and what i meant by Miluten's feat in some combo in time when it seamed impossible ;) but direct conquest and presence would surely be recorded even in some foreign church, for example.... however, i'm in doubt about who controlled it (that's main point) and was some part at least accessible etc etc.... always join if some knowledge or interest, bit of refreshings and lots to learn - and you die smarter by learning and speaking about it! some music and multimedia as we are here mostly about it in forum, just for some deeper engagement with the subjects my dears if you do not know much but follow anyway

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0rP78wCRs8

that's exactly expression on your Mamluk :) face when Miluten showed there when everyone thought it's impossible, at 0:20 :lol ....lovely story, what to say, love it because all is enigmatic and all on half-stories in our whole era history while we maybe know just 20% of all, but generally some great picture is visible.... btw, if you like stories time i talked about is directly predating Baldovins in our hierarchy (but some say also recorded in villages) and so on, another interesting detail regarding story.... some battle was, of what kind, beats us all

mainly showed to repeat, i'd finish with this - as said always million minor quest for Italy, but not expecting and i even already forgot your "baba" Anna for fire Jaquinta :) somehow, when you read for example our subjects themes in Wiki it is combo of our and Sexon authors, on Italian for example often just Anglo authors only, but maybe i did not give enough care nor checked every line, so maybe wrong impression. And Italians do write about Dante, Da Vinci and so on....) it is all hobby, of course i faced various subjects during some peroids of life, but beat them all from Oxford :) on many.... i'm not that much, i like mostly hidden and political/events part of it not some mysticism, but hope I don't get too religious with occassional submerge in subjects which are all full of it.... and imagine then i even join papal pornokratia heresy :lol ...as said finished, another honestly good and "to think about block" and always open invite on many "boot related" quests i raised in there (but also like if you know where were some our further churches mentioned on hills, and no idea what i asked there) some i found answers too, but always would like to hear, hopefully younger detective...

also for end and good laugh good joke fell on my mind from previous post..... "guess if you ask, Greeks will tell history of site" but if they don't some boxing skills will surely help! :lol (if you get it - greateful for preserving story btw, but return now.... what Romean monastery??!! we are Romans, there was temple Vespasianus visited!!.....Alexander "the great"? you always just go back to him...........))

take it seriously though and hopefully educational, would like to know if i did not waste many words :yes

love Anna, deseved "soap on mouth" for what i said above :) like in some comics... Anna is unique and (with 2 masks) most beautiful ever, just shame there is no line about "her champions" and their fate like that little Norman fire :)

look :) regarding that thing with "pope Jacques" (John 22) and line that i never found any confirmation of (even in France help) nor there is any factual situation that Miluten ever faced any bigger army i.e. "crusade" not even preachings or "guiedlines"... though, if any pope during Nemanjic dynasty was to take any action against our any ruler only option in his hand would be crusade as he was unable to "interdict" or excommunicate them :) as they already did that by themselves, smartly ;...but AFAIK never happened, some "cooling" after Clement death and Miluten's entering in some northern parts etc. - possible, but will explain...

it was, more than any action from our side, also part of "Colonna factor"... don't know if i talked before, hard to track all said - papa-Jacques relied again much on Orsini faction and cardinals, "shop was set" in Avignon, Philip gonne, Clement gonne, probably elder Miluten's finance as well and primar idea they had... so a lot had changed in 2 years, Colonna family again (and we) took anti-papal stand and "protested in Rome", so "Sara", contrary to papal wish crowned "Ludwig" (whose co-ruler's daughter later Dusan tried to marry etc) as emperor etc. old Miluten, as well as Colonnas took that stand, we also again supported Franciscans as well as Ludwig etc. not to go too detailed.... so generally Jacques anger and possible condmnation of Miluten by the end could be looked through those stands and new Colonna position and other things, more than anything Miluten did so much, taking of Belgrade or similar.... very, very delicate game, but constant fit if you follow me... however, there was no open crusade nor preach as not only that our rulers had constant allies in Rome, but probably German emperors would be on our side in situation... Dechanski took over balanced state, and Dushan as seen continued contact with Avignon, though not perfect relations and also 100% fitted in some "ghibelline" Colonna and in moment again Dandolo Venice positions.... so crusade was never, cold relations and anger by Jacques probably, hopefully fully understandable... we had our line and it almost fits, even during longish Miluten's rule and aging, he did not oscilate, and despite previous finance not only Avignon changed stand, but he as well.... and then they started runing "our records" in Avignon so, with little salt which is must be ingredient in Papal procedures :) docs about our sole recapture of Jerusalem was eaten too :) ...surplus salt however was shiped to Colonnas ) ...but i overused this joke already....

papa-Jacques is BTW (said million times i know) the one from events of "the name of the rose"... absolutely our subject and ivolvement and totally deserved doctorship to Eco again, for popularizing it as some very interesting era. really hopeful i am able to find proper language to explain

Nemanides were hence and repeat, really exceptional and hard-to-comprehend dynasty, not in local but continental stage... not because was our, nor any local thing, but objectively... since before there was some "nice diplomacy" and ability to recognize some situations as seen on Norman and Lombard, Roman ties, but since Nemanja, again man of little enigmatic origin - really smart play, "i'm gonna convert towards non-penalable :) orthodoxy but you my son stay connected with Roman pornokrats ) and the other one will rule :) until he marry someone from Venice, we will oppose "ghibellineism" but when emperor comes we will play ghibelline card etc etc :)

anyway, something else but not so much.... once when you reach that "eureka!" moment and connect the dots that were just in front of our eyes i.e. our factions it becomes much more simple and perfectly fits.... even that things predating fall - still same allies mind that - and Turkish behaviour fits. To me maybe indicating that they indeed had various knowledgeable agents in their service, people of some western origin in service or similar... namely and shortly what is noticeable - you can forget our diplomacy, 2 girls in "harlem", Mara Marica etc. quasi presence of Stefan where he maybe wasn't etc. - Turks knew exactly that (and again factors were Sigi, Florentines and Colonnas) Stefan L. had "too strong position" anyway in times when they did not even consolidate themselves for example, which was the case - Sigismund, Colonnas etc. and we together pushed Oddone on position and so on... so he was untouchable, Florentine and Bolognese (for example) lines open and "economical stability" (in feudal way, of course)) was ensured, mines worked "full steam" etc. Many going to central Italy again...(helping renEsance!)) but comeback to theme, Turks exactly waited moment (George ruled then) when Colonna position again was weakened, Oddone wasn't anymore, Sigismund as well - and "first fall of despotate i.e. Serbia" was immediate. Even knew that Nuovo Bardo ) should be put under siege to "cut line" with (for example if you follow) Florence and similar... so moment is more interesting than my descriptions... while country was restored due to stronger ties, everyone knew that "our case is lost" and there was no figure like Sigi (not because he was some warrior or similar, more because he played "our notes" visible since Miluten, maybe before) and more important Colonnas again ate the salty cakes :) and were "on receiving end", as well as we but from other side soon.... generally you understand even this, the moment they've chosen etc

theoretically and hypothetically would be very interesting, if we understand all this correctly and our factions, what would happen if Turks either never advanced or were pushed away etc.... soon after quasi Colonnas "reached some settlements" in Rome, Italy and some our ties again faced French and other "interventions" (really to kiss and look that way Italian girls is outrageous - really there are records from Sforza courts etc)) and so on, reformation and protestantism already started amybe since Hussites etc. and all known but without us..... so what would be our positions and Colonna one (if we imagine that we would keep tie and they didn't submit even), Venice and all cards we played, if you imagine - to me very hard to imagine :) but that is point in hypothetical things

we never had Colonna queen, but almost most important family for us :) always bloody fit... of course we had many lovers from there, old story... :) but i'll present one of Colonna girls, nice photo... it seems, considering position and movement of her "index finger" and hand when photographer "snapped", that fashion of today girls to "flash breasts" i.e. fastly show them for camera whenever pictured - was known back in days :lol ....it is Vittoria, our beauty and smart one as well, everyone notice she is reading but corset (for story)) is just uncomfotrable.... better looking than Gioconda, those are our Colonnas :yes ....symbolically we did finish with something resembling "colonna or columna" in "behind" :lol so symbolic..... and they wore "black rascia" etc.... but lovely story, glad i made it closer to you. generally one cool history, invisible or unknown - but i'm ended now, you always jump in with your.....

must say my "deep interest" and following ends in 1459, as well as medieval era, so not my primar interest nor love etc. but of course have some knowledge about it, not so deep.... btw, belong to older generation when there was consensus that "middle ages" ended in 1492 with knowledge of some superpower across the Atlantic :) but see that now they push some "borders" of that era further etc, maybe to 2001 :) and so on, but again my deep knowledge is till 1459 when "most superb one fell" and so on... but again, we missed a lot of fun and deeply is philosophical (that's what older history is all about) and intriguing question what would be next for us, if state survived...

in any way, this is my fav "non-medieval page and wars" and almost looks like page from "uncyclopedia" and, IDK i'm awful man, is so funny... but anything including "skillful" interventions and cute Italians to me is instant fun, but of course we can laugh because we are their great pals and allies, not recommended for all :) (genearlly even nation that created them both) so for innocent fun and sunday feel, some lines i choose to point too, and short interpretations:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_W ... %80%931504
The Italian War of 1494–1498 began when Ludovico Sforza, then Regent of Milan, invited Charles VIII of France to invade Italy, using the Angevin claim to the Kingdom of Naples as a pretext.
take good care here, Sforza invited them :)
Charles VIII died on 7 April 1498 and was succeeded by his second cousin Louis XII of France, who inherited the Angevin claim to Naples while also claiming the Duchy of Milan through his grandmother Valentina Visconti. His lawyers also asserted that Milan naturally belonged to the French since it had been founded by their ancestors the Gauls, as stated by Roman historian Livy.
and now with new French king, they are turning against Milan and Ludovico Sforza :) ....old trick of "Gauls" is maybe first time used by people of Frankish origin, naturally concentrated around Paris :)
Louis hired a strong force of Swiss mercenaries and led by Gian Giacomo Trivulzio, his troops quickly over-ran the duchy. Ludovico and his children took refuge in Germany with Emperor Maximilian, while the French entered Milan on 6 October 1499.
clear, but take care...
Following his victory, Louis' Franco-Visconti heraldry and name were painted over the Sforza arms at the Castello Sforzesco, while portraits of French kings replaced those of the Sforza family in the library at Pavia.
war crime.... :)
With help from Emperor Maximilian, Ludovico recruited an army of 20,000 mercenaries and retook Milan on 5 February 1500; his army then moved north and captured Novara from the French on 21 March.
page did not note, but then Ludovico hires 20000 Swiss mercs.... :)
However, his inability to pay his troops meant this success proved short-lived and on April 10 Ludovico's army was annihilated at the Battle of Novara.
:lol old scammers Sforzas hired them but then they relized they do not hae money to pay them :) ....army was, however as seen, "annihilated" so even without pay Swiss gladly died for the cause... )
On 25 July 1501, Frederick IV of Naples abdicated in favour of Louis and died in French captivity in 1504;
:lol ...no comment, just the French.

And then 3rd Italian war begins i.e. Franco-Spanish war (Spain in the meantime united under Franco etc):
Chronic in-fighting between the Italian and French knights, as well as a better supply-line guaranteed by the Spanish navy, gave Cordoba and his Spanish army the upper hand against the French, who were defeated at Cerignola on 28 April 1503.
so cute line, mind that French army was combined "French and Italian knights" but they often fought eachother as stated...
a superior French force beat back the Spanish but in a second battle on 29 December, the Spanish prevailed. Attacking the French army that was still resting and relaxing after their Christmas festivities from the north at the village of Sujo, the Spanish scored a decisive and war-ending victory.
and the end.... however back in days Iulian calendar was still in use so it is dubious and speculation if French just "relaxed after Christmas" or prepared for it... :) but another lovely line and perfect end of two very important wars that defined modern Italy above all....

without any sarcasm, though post was humoristic, so miss it and bang myself with idea on which side would we be..... kiss you both, our old allies and miss you, look at us today.....

only this and goodbye, for forum growth ))....continuation of it as "war of the league of Cambrai" named by anti-Vinegian coalition which soon fell apart and French ended in war with holy league i.e. against all, as expected :) until Venice allied with them etc. - is equally funny, almost to the tears but nothing beats the page above.... really from start when Max the emperor (Habsburg) intended to go into Italy against France and their Milan, but insted he decided to invade Venice :) till end when French dethroned another Sforza in Milan )... i can only say bravo Venice, fought like lion in it and humiliated first Maximilian's army, then very much all the others.... really serenissima evolved from kitty to lion, simply wasn't so strong nor even "good looking" back in our days, as i talked briefly and will come back to what interests me....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Cadore

bravo again, epic :yes ...and with the loss of just "4 knights and some infantry", for military and strategy books and even including one-on-one duel of imperial commander against "Rinieri" (again that diverse Venetian dialects, should be name similar to Anna's father which was recorded differently) who received even "blow to face" but responded and killed imperial commander Sixt von Trautson, love the detail. And even captured Trieste in brilliant counter etc etc.... but no mercy given, so tough "mf-ers" Venetians were.... ;

some personal point, and why i'm also looking at all and some Venetian tactics and fighting capabilities (while is generally no secret that "Italians were present here") that even lead me to conclude that they were one of the main ground fighting power maybe before, generally some of their exploits are often better than French, German or take any late medieval army till those moments in question... i wonder, doesn't matter how undocumented or "eaten" ) how real was a) our alliance during almost every Dandolo doge and above all during our expansion under HIM b) generally presence of people from that region (including Treviso)) in some our armies since Miluten, adding to some our rapid successes and exploits, really from Durazzo and easy fall, to Jerusalem :) some unknown to extent actionat Kavala etc. to rapid fall of "smaller towns" in first half of XIV that indicates some Venetian or generally Veneto region (still not Venetian wholly) enginering and tactics.... really our techniques couldn't be so fastly and almost "out of nowhere" developed, if not for their hypothetical presence and training - to me very real... just to think about, to me very little doubt that man given citizenship and his command to "handover any fort to Venetians in case of his southern absence" is more than proof of some "alliance" but anyway :) let's concentrate in possible direct Venetian military presence and training in some at least 70 years of our history... or we also had own school, just knowledge of it lost during times as well

so next time you make game starting in 1135 think twice if plan was already signed and who you make green :) ...even our growth is paralel to the moment of fall ) and Dandolo and last important Nemanjic ruled last time in about same time ;...and so on, think here about technical and military organization level, their direct presence etc. Generally, during our peak and before some battles with Turks, rarely is mentioned some our significant loss or huge casualties in army.... i expressed intimate, romantic view more than once, it deserves state, maybe even one of most deserving "unpresent ones" and so on but nothing against Rome nor we have any interest, nearing death :) ....generally it is their geography that prevented possible greater historical exploits,as well as our in other way, but their position despite obvious skills blocked them and maybe even decided (wrong)) direction of expansion etc.... but went far from my intent to offer theory that our med armies were "heavily Venetianised" maybe... talking speculations, my Vinegians, you know the joke, thinking Baldwin and your love for masks, that Venice actually wasn't some "refuge after fall" but rather "leper colony" at start.... ;) hehe. in any way respect for those "lion like" exploits in Italian wars, good to know and i'm using for some (rarely) mods i make... really first time catched that detail of "4 heavy cavalry and some inf" as losses.

it is game called "King's orders", i mentioned it - man, read my texts not just looking at pics :lol .... however its core mechanics are simplistic as is game i.e. based on dispatching letters to commanders etc hence the name... no much play personally yet (made us too small though name is grand)) merely checked it as interest, but people give it positive reviews if you are interested maybe in getting it....

i have no problems nor lackof interest for med themed e-file, but it is lack of icons and generally too much work for non-themed game, so there are better options indeed than modding OG ;... however if someone is gonna make many icons :) generally, more now for pub content and some inovative offerings, and to catch some Vinegians :) (and then sell them to slavery))
After the siege, the Venetian soldiers were forced to eat only bread, wine and apples for a few days as there was nothing left in the valley. However, on 8 March they captured a convoy of four wagons full of bread and wheat pulled by twenty horses and protected by some German soldiers who had not received the news of the defeat of the Rio Secco and were trying to reach their companions in Pieve
so instead of bread and wine, from march 8th they ate wheat and wine :)

to conclude something on subjects deserving "uncyclopedia" prize ) - while Orsini were often in Vinegian service (as leader of that battle above), Colonna generals strangely in some mixed Papal and Spanish, probably still supporting some "ghibellines" just to frustrate Orsini, take it all as something completely diffrent than what i talked about, plus they even reached "historical Orsini-Colonna" deal during the Italian wars, sipposedly.... so generally their stand doesn't count anymore, nor by any authomatism it indicates what would be some "our faction" hypothetically (though, insome long posted text, indeed "black rascia" was, text said, often wore across Spanish possesions etc)... but really hard to imagine whom would we finance.... in some way, enigmatically our emperor was very close to Venice (as well as George, last ruler) but tried to marry Habsburg princess and so on.... so hard to judge, for what it matters - imperial or French, or just flip-flop Vinegian :) if you have some hypothetical history skills always drop some line.... intentionally often mention Venice and our relations, friend or foe? etc. think we helped each other mutually, though we ended in one of best "most serene and superb" states they as "stateless" :) and so on... but just for mentioned things, interesting is moment in which our history stopped, leaving many question marks of would it be Venice, France, Imperials (emogrant Serbs were with imperial later or sooner, but also doesn't count as ex-state), Colonna etc... btw, why i sometimes try to dig into some medival clan relations and find some paraleles and motives, movements and directions... generally, only Dandolo and Colonna fits 99%

but there is some state in Americas called "little Venice" so they gained something sovereignistic :) ... don't know much they say one of the best in both Americas, by rule and prosperity :)

Thank you :) Yes a new e-file is much work and the bigest problem are the icons. But in germany cold "Viele Hände, schnelles Ende" -> So many hands bring a fast end... In antique general has mark buildt some icons and I modding them. So if more working in that project. I can be good. :cool

No idea how much usable they are in OG, here is an example of things people have done in the context of Civ III, in this case what they call multi figures which have a specific section.
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/ ... ts.621921/

And the link for Civ III unit icons in general: The Unit Library link is probably the best choice to look for things in a efficient way, with its alphabetic order icon list---

something in addition, on older themes in OG...

of course i checked "Antique" long ago, even tried some battes years ago, remeber that intro in which is Kesar not presented in not so nice words :) (if i haven't mixed it with other game, often talk from head and memory) there are some challenges there regarding "fun" and if one is to make long "Roman vs. Narcomanni" :) haha, camp it would be same battle after same, no upgrades etc so more for pure "tactical lovers" and PG2 and OG with "modern" had that army management "charm", you get it no need to waste words. And i play only camps, so problematic if it is for me. Like the themes though but don't see how to help with better icons. Glad i offered as some battles Serdi tribe, Scordiscii and many Roman themes )).... similar is with medieval e-file but...

even with icons (i made myself 2-3 and with intention they to be "black knights" for example, for purpose of testing it on map) for me it is problem how would be e-file be made, stats and all and would require A LOT of nations i.e. feuds etc. you get it as well... and then previous point... back in the days modern e-file makers had some base to work on i.e. original game file itself and then they tweaked, added, changed etc. In med is really no base and i have no idea how would be stats be made and based on what, except few cases like "penetration of longbow or crossbow" which could be accurate and presented numerically.... when it comes to knights units and we take band of Serb knights against German - what is deciding factor? (and they even have same armor bought from Vinegians) ...often skills of individuals were more deciding factor or bravery or initiative (or wine supply line), much more than penetration of tank fire if skills are similar in tank crew :) ....generally even this you understand, mere rhetorical questions.... not sure if it is fun game for themes and even less that there is some public for it, but support you making anything "unusual" if so much passion or time at hand

my life is that i sit what seems for 15 mins at computer and - wtf? - already 2 hours passed, made few scens for XIX c battles (lost interest though) and started few camps with ww2 themes, and stopped etc.... Maybe for people with different organisation of life or if given clear task, excluding arts... generally for ancient or med themes if someone is doing anything and opens some threads as ideas, consultative role and following by me is sure - more idea man than technicalities one i am... when i say i modded something those were strictly themed games with different mechanics.... generally there are even few med themed tactical games, turn based, so people are turning more to fantasy units, they add archangels, dragons etc )

just to be clear, short as ever :) and of course nobody expects anything from anyone, we just talking :yes ....say, you know something about Elisabeth and where was she last seen.....blah, blah... because if Louis or papa-Jacques had anything to do with it........)

that much, btw, while - you! - (some reader) maybe have some ideas and works so help on subjects, if you think it's worth... as said to me some themes and eventual help to build some picture if you read somethingas i asked, but even now i'm finished with all..... guess best story is Jaquinta one :yes would be great campaign, she against Byzant with army of "her favourites" (king would be just spectator in it) and then Guiscard comes to reinforce her etc. ) ...wish you luck and as said always interested in subjects, checked it and have my doubts expressed... OG related mostly tweaking some camps with variety of functions Luis/OG provided and play it with tweaks and similar nowdays, change supply numbers, change movement types, disable tanks entering forest and see how it goes in older camps.... however wouldn't mind more life on forums, so i posted what i can talk about, impressing many and attracting even miladies........ think i finished for good again, you cut me effectivelly with idea that pics are best part of it :) and what to say more.... again, interested in similar mods if i can add something - for example Roman legion penetration should be high, Gaulish not so... thanks for mods, glad subjects are tried :yes

tried, for example and end, even "SoN" file and wasn't fun enough... there is games of era battling where you direct fire, change formations, facing of units and even ammo type, making it somehow more useful for era, for example... guess this is specific and simple mechanics modern warfare game.... but, again, if you only just play something join us in the pub, 20 years ago we had people not even playing game but posting constantly :) ...but it was era of forums, before Tik-Tak and all - but if you insist you can share your pics with us, dear principessa.... :) (maybe i tried to be too "Eco" like but ended)

Hello :),

I don't speak English well enough to actually read long posts. But Google Translate was helpful (and this is from there too).

It's nice if you tried AG. It's far from finished. It's actually impossible to finish, because there's always something to do. After the current work on the PL file, I would like to finally finish the Boudicca campaign (I've been working on it in long breaks since 2021).

Sure, you have to tinker here for yourself or because it's fun. There won't be that much of an audience. Unless you start a YouTube channel or something *gg* Open General on Insta that would be something. So let's see how you make a scenario *gg* I'm currently using an old computer because the suite doesn't work properly on normal computers...

So let's see if you understand something of what was written here that Google translated *haha*

P.S. I tried, but I can't manage a post that long.

yeah, most of people left from some times i mentioned are non-English speakers (not that we need native ones but not even knowing much) even i but my natural talent makes it perfect :) ...you sound a bit like some AI :) but guess i catched the points.... for end, if i'm to make long "Antique" campaign that would span several centuries and where some upgrades would be possible (for example from "lorica hamata" or chain mail inf to "lorica segmentata" for inf after few centuries)) etc would be Flavia Felix and Claudia campaigns... imagine just starting from battles (for IV legio) against Popaye Magnus and fighting other Romans, then battle at Philippi, fight against Vespasianus etc, Dacian war, Marcomanni one etc etc. and final battle again against some Roman legions (or Ilirian-Roman) against Diocletianus, and then into legend and some caves ) Claudia VII eqially interesting, whole of Gaul, Alesia, Britain, on Vespasianus side, again Dacian wars, Marcomann etc. against various barbarians and then Attila defeats it ) for example in lack of knowledge when it disbanded exactly..... so hope i woke-up and initiated someone's creativity and gave ideas for longish and upgrade able camps - so go, catch it.... as i will hardly do it :) but as ideas including many and various enemies and some upgrades, think it's alright

to single out another nice idea for designers of medieval file from sea of words as it is cute - knights should replace tank class of course, but instead of fuel they have some amount of wine in number and when it runs out, they do not move anymore :lol until resupplied ;.... really it is challenge to make file equpment slot just if we take Grand Serbia as example, even beside things mentioned - at peak we would have to have German, Spanish, Swiss, French, Italian (how to define stats for Trevisan vs Vinegian knight)) Ragusan etc etc units in "nation slot" beside own units, so hard to make.......... but game above shows that we should also change some often rigid views and knowledge of the era as well so if we make game starting in 1150 we should be most cultural of Europe, if in 1300 most powerful :) and if in 1400 richest of E :) ....and through whole era generally sexiest of all, with chivalry unmatched and often letting principessas even "poison" us without consequences.....

Boudica i like, good luck :yes think Vespasianus was around etc... and thanks for proving that you read my thread also, hopefully catching something despite not even speaking English :yes since you mentioned, it is interesting how many western (imagine also big monument to Vercingetorix in France among many) towns have monuments to really figures from BC and to us we say how we "are obsessed with history" :) and just erected Nemanio :) ...and funniest of all we have more base to have Traianus in Serbia, Vespasianus in S, or big Felix, even bloody Tacticus or Servius than many.... but if we are to concentrate on big monument to those who "fought Rome" (what is their trend) [thinking hard] - then big statue of Miluten surely :) etc.

maybe we can't conquer Tiky, XxX or Insta but we can at least try to make some Tik-Insta-X ones conquer us i.e. join us, so welcome :) for end.

See, you have the expertise and the ideas. There are currently 4 campaigns - Gaulish with 14 scenarios, Roman with 20 scenarios, Spartacus with 19 scenarios and a Germanic with 17 scenarios. That's quite a lot. Of course, there isn't currently a really big campaign with 40 scenarios. But that can still happen. It always starts with an idea and you have it straight away. I'm already looking forward to your review of Boudicca.

I would like to see knights and vikings and also princesses in OG. :cool

regarding review - of course i'll try it once you make it (if we still alive)) but not guarantee i'd have anything to say - similar to game i mentioned above and one you asked about, if it is not for me i just say it and pass or fold...

but to exercise my devilish side on sexy Boudica (the one which rode horse naked i believe?)) and after reading Wiki on her, think i'm closer to those minority of historians who expressed doubt if she was real at all - maybe myth as much as cutie Jaquinta doing things around predating Nemanio, maybe some males did it (beheading and blindo-castration etc maybe Vladimir himself)) but she was satanized or made myth of from some imagination, if you get me..... however, cute is how people descending from people from Denmark and Sexony deified her and made it national symbol against people to which she (if real) belonged to i.e. pre-English Brits i.e. Celts etc....the one theydeny states to ehilr boasting today how decond Albaniais Europe's newest state on their global TV .... :lol don't care much and of course our case is lost, and of course this state would hardly function with Kosovo as part etc. but hope we see one day indie Scotland at least, in my lifetime ;) while nothing against English and big lover of their sexy accent blondes etc. but for fairness said.... summa summarum, i'll try it surely but no guarntee i'll like it and go past one scen.... :yes
