What are your favorite campaigns?
What are your favorite campaigns?
Could you name the top 3 or top 10 campaigns that you like the most?

IMHO, first you have to make a choice. The old e files and maps or the new.
There are so many good and great campaigns with the old staff, specially the CC campaigns. With the moderns e files and maps, Atomic E file is one-way ticket.

Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
If you ask me
so I only played campaigns on Gustlik's e-file.. maybe someone will answer you
I understand that by starting this thread you are asking friends from this forum who play campaigns from the installation
http://www.open-general.com/installer-full.php
If you want to ask about campaigns from the Polish forum - it's best

What campaigns do I like? --> not too long and not too difficult
As I have already written, in recent years I have mainly been making maps
If you count correctly - for OG and PEG there will be about 200 maps
I haven't even played 20 campaigns during this time...

Digging deep into my memory:
- Armageddon - Final Battle Between The Oder And The Elbe
- Axis at War
- A Swedish cold war campaign of which I cannot remember the name.
and lots of Steve Brown campaigns
Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
I'm afraid there are currently more campaign makers than campaign players active here, so answers are bound to be a little biased...
Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
Did you catch someone promoting his own campaigns?
And luckily there are more players than designers. There are more players than we think.
Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
Nah, that wasn't what I meant!
I meant content creators have their own vision of how things should be, which creates some bias.
Well, I'm not very often here, but besides Szperacz (who claims to be dozens... ) I don't see many pure (non-content-creating) players. I sure hope I'm wrong, Open General needs players, lots of players.

Here is one. Never created a campaign. I admire those guys. Some of them do great jobs.

Here is another one (rather seldom, yes), although I do not post about them to avoid suspicions

Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
Okay, that makes 3 players, which isn't yet "many" ("one, two, three, many")...
Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
One has to wonder what you want to say
I wrote with around a dozen players about my campaigns in this forum alone, be it in the threads or DMs. And there are people playing Gustlik's campaign over at the Polish forum. Then there are long time lurkers that write a comment once a year. And most of the people that read forums never create an account, never write a post.
Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
Don't you know this primitive way of counting?
Potential explanation:
Even in our "evolved" societies, we still have a threshold beyond which everything is considered "many". Example: "I spent many hours", and often this limit is indeed 2 or 3.At first, our hominid ancestors probably did not count very high. Many body parts present themselves in pairs—arms, hands, eyes, ears, and so on—thereby leading to an innate familiarity with the concept of a pair and, by extension, the numbers 1 and 2. But when those hominids regarded the wider world, they did not yet find a need to count much higher. One wolf is manageable; two wolves are a challenge; any more than that and time spent counting wolves is better spent making oneself scarce. (Full article)
But we're going full speed OT here...

Written three years ago...Aleksandr wrote: ↑2021-07-01 13:55, Thursday OK, guys (and girls), I finished the designing and testing of another campaign, I just need to text it, and I'm feeling a little bit of an enthusiasm for writing! Not a real graphomania attack, but I may do something. So stay tuned, and may, maybe there will be something cool this weekend... or another.
Omg, I need to finish the campaign. In fact it's done except for the texts, but I didn't write a single word during those 156 weekends.
Re: What are your favorite campaigns?
First, need to say hi to everybody and express my unimaginable gratitude to all who contribute to PG/OG being still alive and running .
I was somehow active (just a little) on the old forum, after the new forum started I stayed as a pure leecher, promising myself I will someday register again and start to be active. Of course time was passing by and I always had some excuses but tonight, boring night at work so I finally did it.
I consider myself a veteran of PG (bought PG 1 as a kid in 2000 and PG 2 in 2002) and played quite some campaigns during that time. So, getting down to business , my top 10 list (the order is not relevant, it's just top 10 )
1- Green Devils
2- Deutche Marinekorps
3- LSSAH
4- Das Reich
5- Legions of Il Duce
6- Armageddon - Final Battle Between The Oder And The Elbe
7- Royal Hungarian Army
8- British Western Desert (not sure the exact name )
9- Soviet Black Sea
10- IJN campaign
In fact I realized I could count more and more, top 20 maybe , as I should make a honourable mention of "From Prut to Stalingrad", "Australian Bougainville", "503.sPzAbt", "Royal Navy", "For Our Freedom and Yours", "Zhukov Red God...", "5th SS Viking"... Most of these I replayed so many times it could be a kind of addiction diagnosed
