Game freezes

I'm playing the Soviet Black Sea Campaign with the Base efile. In the middle of AI's turn 6 the game freezes, like the program is stuck in an infinite loop. Is there a way to force the game to proceed? I've tried exiting and restarting several times and it gets stuck in the same place every time. I've been playing various campaigns for years and never had this problem before. I'm running Windows 10 on an I5 with 8 GB memory.

Do you mean the Base efile or the Basekorp efile? Which is the scenario where this happens?

BaseKorp. As a hunch, I opened the game in the Suite and changed it from turn 6 to turn 7 and it seems to run fine (so far).
