OG versions confusion

About a year back I downloaded what seemed the latest full installer (0.93.4.0 (25-Dec-2020)), 583.4 MB.
Today I discovered a new full installer (apparently from 15-Dec-2021), 588.1 MB (so it's clearly not the same).

Since I didn't see any announcement here about that latest one, I went to Luis' website for information, and lo and behold, it indeed mentions those two versions. So all should be clear? No, not really:

2021, December 21: Open General 0.93.4.RC2 (Release Candidate).
2020, December 25: Open General 0.93.4.0 official release.

In what universe the release candidate is released one year after the final, official release???

0.93.4.RC2 (Release Candidate). is the release candidate for the next official 0.93.4.2

But I probably should name it as 0.93.4.2rc

After 0.93.4 I would expect 0.93.5 as next patch version number. Or immediately 0.94.0 But in this case I vote for 1.0.0 (see my other post in the OpenGen Questions thread)
