:lol ... impression and story...

looking and listening when she is sitting on the throne and says "i shoot her in the back", it almost satisfies me thinking how she gets my head on plate :) ...alright, maybe not that extreme but would fall down and kiss her feet gladly :)

https://youtu.be/2g3-Ba0NA5E

strangely enough I'm not from a family where such music (we have our versions) was prefered nor I ever listened much, so this is all new to me and listening it right from the source (i.e. Turkey) is much better and pleasure. Of course there are 1000s of videos and 100s of performers i'm starting to like and learn about - but i'll not post more, but will watch much more ;

do not get wrong impression about Turks all being followers of low value culture and "non rockers", videos are sometimes watched more outside of Turkey, nor it is bad thing to watch as I do :lol ... my last videos show not "how Turks are" but more how I truly am sometimes.... also Turkish parents/brothers/husbands should not be afraid of me as i'm not some traveller, nor some "satir" :) ..... one can dislike, but any "Turk-hater" is not my friend, it is true love from inside - no more videos of this kind but "respect" because it is authentic for them and nice... beside this, mostly epic for me on youtube...

Fear Of The Dark (Symphony Pandemic Iron Maiden Cover)

An Iron Maiden song travels the world: Ulf Wadenbrandt, head of the Sweden Symphonic Orchestra and principal guest conductor of the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, had a big idea. Usually he is always on the go, traveling to a wide variety of countries and cities in order to get together for concerts with musicians from a wide range. But due to the global pandemic, like so many others, he too had to give up his daily work for an indefinite period of time.

“Many of my fellow musicians around the world are currently unable to play with others or perform in front of an audience. So I contacted quite a few wonderful artists. My goal was that we all implement something together, ”said Wadenbrandt. He spared no effort and worked around the clock - which was necessary due to the different time zones. The aim was to instruct and inspire over 160 musicians to record a video clip.

"Fantastic song from Iron Maiden"
“I want to emphasize how important music and culture are in these difficult times,” explains Wadenbrandt. “Music makes you feel good and also supports development. We also want to show the world that we are needed and that we have to appear again. I have gathered absolute world class musicians, excellent music teachers, talented amateurs, music students and students from all over the world. With this I want to show the preciousness of diversity and underline how important each individual is in the ecosystem of music. "

In addition to several orchestras from all over the world, the Philharmonie from Dortmund and musicians from Brazil, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Argentina, China and New Zealand play the instrumental version of the Iron Maiden classic ‘Fear Of The Dark’. “This song has it all: beautiful melody lines, lots of energy and a tremendous tempo,” says Wadenbrandt. “Iron Maiden have created a great song that works perfectly with a symphonic orchestra. A magical arrangement that captures the energy of the orchestra with a fantastic sound. "

RDP the public radio enterprise was also involved.
Both RTP and RDP did receive public funds intended for culture supporting activities.
Nevertheless, yes, this is a good example worth praise.

A different and partial version of White Room... Rock is still young...

REM is not a band that I was particularly interested in. She is too soft for me. Regardless, they wrote some great songs that a lot of people liked.
If I had to choose a song, I would choose "Drive", the first song from the album "Automatic for the People".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UE7tXD ... Lw8GRQS1Ii

"Turbo" was released by Judas Priest 35 years ago. An album that divided the fans of the priests and led to controversy to this day.
I found this development remarkable and courageous and I still count the album among their best today.

REM, actually not so much...(into what I'm saying next)

That Judas Priest album is an example of that 80s drift towards the "tum, tum, tum" that made most 80s sound sound all the same to me.
Going through material from that wave I feel like I'm listening always to the same album by the same band.
On top of that it is even physically uncomfortable as listening to half a dozen of that kind of tracks infallibly gives me headaches.

The most extreme example of that sort of allergy is me, the Genesis fan, never ever being capable of listening any album from Abacab onwards from beginning to end.
Many mark the death of Genesis at Peter Gabriel's exit, but to me it was the 80s that killed Genesis.
Same drill with Yes.
Pink Floyd changed perhaps due to more personal reasons.
King Crimson changed a lot towards a strong rhytmic accent in that period but curiously their 3 albums in that vein don't have that uncomfortable effect on me. I don't like them as much as the previous ones but I can listen to them.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxjRU81UnC0
King Crimson - Sleepless
Maybe because I can still hear a clear melodic line on par with the rhytm, unlike with the mainstream 80s beat in which my ears cannot distinguish any melody whatsoever.

Out of prog / symphonic rock there was a band from that period that eventually got very well known that I followed with some interest in its first years:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeYCyCaK_5k
U2 - New Year's Day
Until they eventually mainstreamed big time...

And in Portugal we heard the appearance of a punk-rock project that caused some ripples on a fundamentally conservative mindset:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYVpsjwaqEw
Xutos & Pontapés - Quando eu morrer (Shots & Kicks - When I die) (Shots here meaning those with syringes)
And then these too went mainstreaming...

Snowy Shaw and Ben Blutzukker express their love for heavy metal from the nineties in 'Metalhead' and have also hidden numerous cross-references to the great bands of the time in the lyrics. The accompanying brick film music video was shot with the help of Lego and alternative terminal blocks. It not only shows Snowy Shaw and Ben as minifigures, there are also some Easter eggs to discover.

I have already discovered a few bands: Manowar, Iron Maiden, Guns N 'Roses ... Metallica and many more. That's fun.

1914 – „A7V Mephisto“ live at 18th KILKIM ŽAIBU - Festival
Armour 1.27 inches of the finest cast German steel
57 QF gun with 300 rounds, is ready to kill
Six MG 08, Caliber 7.92
30 tons of retribution which ruined the Villers-Bretonneux

I am in the Sturmpanzerwagen of death
Watch me until i end your breath

April 24, evening, we began at 10 o'clock
We woke up Mephisto and Tommy's got shellshock
25 round per minute, I think that's enough for fork-up
Whippet's whipping around us
By morning they all will give up
It's hot as hell in here but we do it all over again
Reload all machineguns and cannon as well
The roof armour was damaged but we'll keep on fighting until
The last of us can still shoot
The last of us is still breathing

Armour 1.27 inches of the finest East German steel
57 QF gun with 300 rounds, is ready to kill
Six MG 08, Caliber 7.92
30 tons of useless metal
Bogged in the mud of Villers-Bretonneux

anyhow and it occurred to me... :) interenet is wonder isn't it, makes things unimaginable 30 years ago possible and changes lives. namely - looking for some inspriation and details - i spent some time last few days doing things like reading Alabama papers :lol and sites to snif around... usual things we all do with a coffe, Birmingham times, Montgomery latest :) and similar. Like some cute accent England...

anyway, I didn't know but i see that there are sometimes few looks at the song from my previous entry and "exchange of views", controversies even 50 years after. if you read my sport posts, you'll see that i dedicated it to our "Alabama folks", our black girl and her pops - so i ain't part of any controversies :) i know many old songs, there were family collections... personally regarding song my opinion is that it was intentionally "controversial" and with double meanings... written by few guys and maybe even intentionally "pro-governor" backed by lines like "Watergate is your problem, we had our man", while band members writing it had own opinions etc. etc. ... but doesn't matter, I used it as anthem caricature and being famous :yes on second thought our girl is actually from Arkansas, why did i even mention Alabama :lol just because of origin.... but Alabama is great, i meant Alabama is close to my heart, not song.... blah, blah. So if you happen to be black (girl)) but you like our site and games, welcome and song is as fun. I'll protect you, show you around and I'll rather cut own hands off than making such jokes about our Ivon....

anyway guys :) while this "important" to note for international spirit of our site - i didn't plan to make any music entry today, just for thread order remembered one Serb band i liked few songs of as kid, one of last ones in never strong "hard-rock" scene before it died :) incredible that it was 31 years ago, phew. almost never listened them since early 90s. With so much historical "blacknes" we were actually perfect for hard rockers... entry for fun, hardly as good as Para's Sexons ; remembered some childhood sounds. personally more instrumental now and voices as these do not fit my taste :) Organist was top and famous in Serb rock scene though, now dead...

... not to mention that vampires were also related to our region, maybe even initially to Serbia itself... my possible theory is due to Romans relating it to Scordiscii, Celtic tribe living here, famed "blood drinkers" ;) but undead beasts are present everywhere, intriguing I overseen Scyth phrase "dig out graves of our fathers" etc. Now it is Romania, pop-culturally... so, guys from my band had good branding idea with album name "Blood and Ice" :) generally, we had potential, but other music dominated...

anyway relistened through both - they had only 2 - albums... maybe even song from first album i posted above is with best tempo and "power" after all. Here is song from second (and last) album i like. Different style, singer noticeably "controlled voice" his here - to be clear, it is great voice but not my preference ; like guitars and backing keyboard here but first song and album maybe "wilder" without much powerful songs when i listen now. Mentioned cult organist wasn't part of band on second album, but was guest on some songs.... but one song from second album was voted as "top 60 ever" best songs released by our once major recording company (state owned). Generally not bad, but 30+ years later not as lovable as when I was kid :) imagine Yvonne jumping and dancing to this two songs, with hairstyle so cute image :lol have fun, hope you appreciate short notes about band, not junk genearlly looking at it now, potential was present...

by the way - think this is good story - Boris Johnson, current English... pardon British PM was in centre of "international diplomatic scandal" i.e. solid joke when few years ago as FM he visited Serbia. Namely, he said something like "i am here to disscus economic ties" and then turned to music and said "we will import turbo-folk from you" :lol Good one and even someone so far understood and satirized our musical troubles so good :yes Of course one - like them or not - must give credit to English first of all, Brits generally, for such strong rock scene they created :yes but as Boris (Bulgarian name, btw) said humoristically it is dead everywhere... anyway, if you like good laugh, rock and sport is not only thing connecting our two tribes - we were also solid in humor once. so i give picture via link only as this is not right place (it belongs to sport thread) and as few years late reply to BJ, photo named "Boris Johnson meats queen of Serbia" :lol

https://images2.imgbox.com/83/39/zsXm5k7b_o.jpg

respect and love to our queen, hope Boris laughs.... nothing special musical today i liked above mentioned band not only because they were solid then but also because they did "conversion" (wikipedia is wrong, not translation) of mine liked English band "Uriah Heep" (as kid, though they were already "gone" when i listened). have fun, nothing beats old rock musically, IMO, but times move on...

:howdy Ale ... Laza Ristovski. His name and band are not known to me. I think that the GDR had little cultural exchange with Yugoslavia - Ivica Šerfezi and Ljupka Dimitrovska were the only ones I had met in my youth.

For me it is interesting that Laza accompanied the Alvin Lee Band as a live musician on their concerts in South-East Europe at the beginning of the 1980s.
Alvin Lee is a blues and rock musician I hold in high esteem, and his band Ten Years After had legendary performances, including at the Woodstock Festival.

Blood and Ice is always a good title. However, my favorite on this topic is also long dead: Thomas "Quorthon" Forsberg. His band Bathory released an album with almost the same name. However, the music is certainly completely different.
Bathory - Blood On Ice
By the way, the name of the band is derived from the Hungarian "Blood Countess" Erzsébet Báthory.

vampires are interesting subject - you and I already had some exchange - yes you are right for some reason they mainly were related - in post XVIII world to Hungarians I'd say. That story, Vlad Dracul etc. (though not Hungarian but story is somehow realted to region with significant Hungarian and even Saxon population etc.) As i said it is much deeper and older, if you care about details - our XIV c emperor had line in his Codex about "vampire hunt", mentioned Scordiscii etc. etc.... if I want to be "scary" i personally like more idea of French guy meeting "vampires" in Serbia in one Russian author story - there was nice line "... if I don't return in 10 days from now, and if I return in more than 10 days - kill me because it won't be me" :) much scarier than "Dracula" ;) ... i don't know maybe "black knight" Stefan (by Greeks, Turks and even Timur) ruler of Serbia was first inspiration of "undead hero" (though not extremely brutal) and was first and initial member of "Dragon order" (first "Dracul" after Sigismund) but for British authors there was not glamour in then Serbia and last name was to long :lol Not important so much, as said maybe I am on right track with mentioning combination of Celtic and Scyth stories which, combined look like modern "vampire"...

have fun, far from subject but alright subject. as said not so musical, not follower of current events as much as you, maybe in other place about "scary things" once... love to Yvonne, hug :yes thanks for links, btw
