Re: OpenGen Questions & Bugs - Latest exe: 0.93.5.RC1e (9-Jan-2024))
Unluckily I cannot replicate the issue and don't see any reason for a dead-loop :dunno I'll keep trying but with a single instance (only GRN01_t13e.xcsv file) it will be difficult even using the .xlog Does it happen again with other scenario ? Yes, it happened for me almost everyday with basically ...

Re: OpenGen Questions & Bugs - Latest exe: 0.93.5.RC1e (9-Jan-2024))
I finally managed to send a proper report from OG with the freeze issue, save before turn end and all the logs. I hope it's helpful. BTW. on 2024-01-27 18:04, Saturday, I sent my first logs for this freeze issue here on forum in this thread - can be helpful for comparison (although there's no save i...

Re: OpenGen Questions & Bugs - Latest exe: 0.93.5.RC1e (9-Jan-2024))
I'm sorry, I sent the bug reports forgetting that I disabled the debug logs a day ago (to check if this impacts the problem)... :bonk Also I didn't think logically in my previous message, as I cannot repeat the issue after reloading as the AI turn is different, steps are different - but having the l...

Re: OpenGen Questions & Bugs - Latest exe: 0.93.5.RC1e (9-Jan-2024))
I'll try to attach it next time. But I'm afraid it won't help - you won't replicate the issue using this save (in both cases I'm reporting - freeze and a crash); it cannot be repeated using the last save (otherwise I would be stuck with repetitive freeze or crash scenario, which is not the case) - a...

Thanks, I didn't know about the report bug tool. I'll try (as I got another crash few minutes ago).

Open - source - general
Dear General Luis Are there any chances of making OG open source (on a license which keeps it in your hands)? No pressure, I'm just wondering about it. It was great to have the possibility to check the logic in the code of Panzer Marshal, which is available on github. Being - maybe - able to use som...

Re: Question for Panzer General 2 veterans
Initially I ignored it too, but it's so powerful - staying out of the enemy visibility makes you invisible (especially for artillery and planes). I was just thinking about playing old custom campaigns in PG2 instead of OG (as OG instability frustrates me a bit), but today it will be probably not pos...

Question for Panzer General 2 veterans
In old good times, when people spent time with Panzer General 2 instead of doing something productive, how did you deal with the player and AI units visibility information - fog of war information or black and red binoculars information currently available with Open General? I just wonder, as it's a...

I failed at Narvik. Makes an impression of a puzzle with one solution (or I'm just too dense).
I'll check out Weltkrieg instead.

Re: Maps image quality (and long-term survival)
A matter of taste. With rtx 4080 on a monster PC I still prefer to play panzer(open) general in 2d. I vastly prefer 2d in strategies. It's sad that everything goes into 3d. 2d games can be timeless even after years (recently I spent hours on panzer general 2 in 800x600 on a 4k 32'' monitor). 3d ofte...

Re: ATOMIC Efile [see 1st post]
Very nice! Should I restart the atomic blitzkrieg or it doesn't matter too much?
I'm currently in the first scenario with ships, in Norway probably. Looked scary so I went back to try to finish PG2 blitzkrieg and gather some courage.

Nice. Assuming link #2 is link #1 after something happened, what exactly was it that happened? It's one of the available tools: https://letsenhance.io. What happened is an 2x upscale with - like you said - "AI" generated "fix", and some other things I'm not sure about now, like ...

Re: Maps image quality (and long-term survival)
Of course. I want to immortalize the maps, because doing nothing will just lead to servers and maps disappearing with time. And to give the users an option to download the package of all the maps in highest possible quality, as OG itself downloads them in lower - JPGs. (And the third option, which I...

Re: Maps image quality (and long-term survival)
Oh indeed, I see that your maps (and some other authors maps too) are available only in jpg. What a shame. Regardless of storing the maps on servers (I hope administrators will continue to do a great job), I'm focusing on the torrent alternative, where files stay on our disks and can be as big as we...

Re: Maps image quality (and long-term survival)
Servers which store OG maps will disappear, it's just a matter of time. Unfortunately it is... That's why I've been slowly, over the years, downloading maps from Gilestiel's map finder, so I can keep playing Open General offline (and whatever happens). So far my collection (only JPG files, bar some...

Re: Maps image quality (and long-term survival)
I should investigate this better before speaking. I didn't know about PNGs on Mapfinder. They're indeed without compression artifacts. And OG is downloading JPGs by default with no possibility to change it. So the option is to download all the maps as PNG from mapfinder. I also thought that the maps...

Maps image quality (and long-term survival)
I understand the possible reasons maps stored on OG users servers have limited size. Still - the reality is that map quality was broken and the original beautiful maps are now compressed files with visible artifacts, noise, banding issues etc. You could say it doesn't matter - but if I have a choice...

Re: New Wish List for OpenGen / OpenSuite 2023-2024
Suggestion/wish: Pixel-perfect zoom . We currently can zoom in using small steps. It would be nice to have also an option to quickly zoom using a ratio which gives a pixel-perfect result - so 2x and 4x (so by clicking once we would zoom to 200%, second time we would zoom to 400%). Currently it's har...

Hello During my few days of OG adventure in two different campaigns (blitz from efile_pg2 and blitz from efile_atomic) I had multiple crashes during AI turn. Here's some info I managed to gather (prepared immediately after last application freeze, I had to kill the application): https://drive.google...

Yeah, I'm a Pole. Poles must have some kind of a fixation on WW2 games :) Especially taking the side of Germans invading Poland :lol Thanks for the information - I have wondered about Gustlik e-file. [MOD] Transparent hex grid and terrain icons graphics
Hello Here's a small graphics mod: - making the hex grid more subtle and transparent - same with terrain icons - same with red visibility binoculars - removing the road/rail overlay, as they are easily enough recognizable without it I'm not the author of anything, I just added transparency. Thanks t...
