On Gilestiel's, map 457 (Kharkov) lists a mismatched .mapx and .map ("pntllria" = map #456 "Pantelleria"!), and the fitting "map457.txt" has all location names shifted upwards by several hexes. :shock

I'd say we can still live without that for a time Yes, I'd vote "not very important" indeed. Once you know it, it's easy to extrapolate while placing units. I for one am used to it... :lol There are more annoying quirks in Open Suite, IMHO at least, like the fact every time you buy a unit...
